The grown-up version of Monica Rambeau made her MCU debut in the most recent episode of WandaVision, and the character appears to have a "bright" future as Rambeau has already been confirmed for Captain Marvel 2.
Speaking to Rotten Tomatoes TV, Teyonah Parris stated, "I am excited, just as an actress, to join Brie and Iman and see what putting these three superheroes together — the Carol Danvers Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau — [to see] what will happen in that film. But the rest- we're just going to have to wait a few weeks before we can really talk about it."
During the interview, Parris also confirmed that over the course of WandaVision, viewers will learn about Monica's backstory and what she's been up to since MCU fans last saw her in the '90s during the first Captain Marvel film. The way Parris was especially careful to avoid giving away any spoilers has us thinking that we'll see Monica gain her powers in the Disney+ TV series.
WandaVision's 9-episode run concludes on March 5 and the Disney+ Ms. Marvel television show is set to debut in late-2021. Captain Marvel 2 is currently slated to hit theaters on November 11, 2022. Of course, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic means the current MCU schedule is far from set in stone, so keep it locked to CBM for continuing coverage.
