So different in tone from the last Daredevil stories I read.

Although in that action sequence with the white silhouettes they drew Dare Devils foot as a size 23 or so. Huge foot!

Speaking of Marvel. Have anybody heard anything about that spideyscoop El Mayimbe said that he had yesterday?

Daredevil is such a great character because he can be written in both ways. Bendis and Miller defined the gritty, street-level side of Daredevil with Born Again, The Man Without Fear, and stories like Out.

But then Mark Waid comes along and redefines the character, while still respecting what came before. As much as I love the character, I was getting a little tired of reading stories of Matt taking on The Kingpin again and again. With Waid, we get to see so many of Matt's classic and lesser-known villains get the spotlight.

I'm really not feeling this run. I love the idea of making Matt not a mopey dude who's live is always in the gutter but Waid's writing isn't working for me. He really fails to make me care whats happenings and it makes every issue of his a drag to read.

I liked the first part of this story. I've loved seeing all these old DD villains revisited and humanized. It worked stronger when they did it in Brubakers run, but that's because nobody tops Maleevs art on the book.

Daredevil was always taken seriously, the Miller stuff got attention AFTER he got the acclaim, but I remember fans in the 80's hating on the dark, gritty Daredevil stories. You can still see the split in Daredevil fans to this day.

Back in the Great Depression and the dirty thirties, Daredevil only had one horn, and it wasn't on his head.
