How does Batman: The Brave and the Bold video game measure up?

So you love watching Batman: The Brave and the Bold and you really want a video game to play that has the spirit of the show? Well now you have one!

Batman: The Brave and the Bold is a great game that you will love and want to play again and again... if you are a kid. Don't get me wrong, the game is fun, but its repetitive gameplay makes this one more fun for the kiddies.

The Cool - You get to see Booster Gold in a video game!!! That right there ought to make you drop $40.00 on it now! Seriously though, the cut scenes in the game look like they came straight from the television show. All of the voice actors from the show are a part of the game so there is a seamless transition between the two.

The levels are setup just like episodes from the show. You have the normal short teaser-ish level where Batman and sidekick team-up to take down an enemy and then you get a nice cut-scene that looks like it was taken straight from the show. Next you go right into the real level action teaming up with the likes of Robin, Hawkman, Guy Gardner (another reason to buy the game), and Blue Beetle (sadly not Ted Kord, but Jamie Reyes).

Playing this game makes you feel like you are one with the television show. You can even play in co-op mode with your friends online!

The Bad - The game does not take long to complete. There are only four levels to play which took me about an hour (give or take) to complete each level. It also feels very repetitive just punching and running throughout the game.

There are some unlockable areas, but for the most part are just there for show. The game almost looks cheap. I know the creators were going for the "look of the show", but it almost looks like a game you would find on pogo.com.

So to wrap it up, if you have kids, they will most likely love it, but this game is just worth a rent and not worth a purchase. There isn't much of any replay value after finishing it one time. If you are a hardcore Batman fan purchase it, but if you are just a casual fan, rent it.

just four levels???? even most kids games have at least 8 levels...I think they could have extended development and could have made a "better" game...but still if you got kids or a hard-core fan, go for it
