COMICS: George Pérez No Longer On Writing Or Art Duties As Of Superman #7!

Well, this is something of a shock move by DC! After the poor reception to Superman #1, it has been revealed that George Pérez will no longer be on the title as of #7! Why, and who's replacing him? Find out here...

Newsarama reveal that George Pérez will no longer write or provide breakdown art for Superman, from #7 onward. The site has learned that the new creative team will be writer Keith Giffen and Dan Jurgens on layouts and/or pencils. It is believed that Pérez may remain on the title as finisher/inker.

Superman #1 opened up to very mixed reviews, with many criticizing the title as they did with Green Arrow #1 earlier this month. And what happened to that? Giffen took over from J.T. Krul as writer. Having read the issue myself, I definitely think this is for the best. The dialogue was very cheesy, the story itself was fairly unimpressive and after seeing how well Superman has been handled by every other writer during the relaunch, it was a shame to see his main title being such a massive let down! What did you guys make of it? And how do you you feel about Pérez no longer being on writing duties?
