Top pick of the week:
JLI #2- This gets better and better. The artwork is nice and vibrant. The story is getting more interesting. But the best part of this series is the way the characters act with each other. 5 out of 5
Action comics #2- Not as good as the first, but it is still really cool. We get a nice bit with John Irons, who will hopefully become Steel within this story. Lex is a character that you love to hate in this. He is my favorite character in this issue. The biggest problem is that it just does not compare to the first issue. 4 out of 5
Detective Comics- Again, not as good as the first one. The scenes with Bruce and his girlfriend are kinda slow. The artwork is really beautiful though, and the ending is shocking, not as shocking as the first, but still shocking. 3.5 out of 5
Green Arrow #2- What an improvement. The art was a lot nicer in this. The plot picks up a bit, but there is still not much there. Hopefully, issue three will get it right. 3 out of 5
Red Lantern #2- Again, not as good as the first. Not much going on, just some stuff going on that reminds Atrocitus of his life. 3 out of 5.
I will also review a trade paperback i recently read each week.
This week is: Batman Knightfall Part One: Broken Bat- I knew what happened. i knew the general plot and characters, and how it ends. But this was still an amazing trade. Basically, a new villain named Bane breaks all the criminals out of Arkham, forcing Batman to fight them without rest. Its amazing to see Batman ready to collapse, and yet he keeps on going. One of my favorite Batman comics yet. 5 out of 5
Next week will be a review of Batman and Robin, Green Lantern, and Superboy.
