Batman Inc. is currently on hiatus and set to return early in 2012 to continue the Leviathan storyline, and well, I don't know what are Grant morrison's plans but if he is planning to visit the beautiful land of Mexico this is what he should do. First, Mexico is currently suffering of a big crisis the whole country is involved in a big war against drug cartels. Innocent people gets killed every single day in the most horrible ways, most commonly on a crossfire between cops and drug cartels agents. Most of these agents are just teenagers that are just being used by these criminals, some of them are just drug addicts that are only looking to get high and to have some kind of power, others are kids that were kidnapped and forced to get in the life of crime. So first we start for the character, someone who can relate with batman, Bruce wayne and the whole idea of batman inc.

Mateo Dominguez is the name of this character he is a 19 year old guy with dark skin, short black hair, brown eyes, 1'75 m high, thin but strong. Mateo lost his parents when he was 11 year old during a shoot out between two drug lords fighting over territory. After loosing his parents he was raised by his grand parents in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. For 3 years he was devastated by the lost of his parents, lost and confused until he turned 14 years old that's when batman went public, he was inspired by the whole idea of an ordinary man fighting against crime. So he decided to follow the way of the bat to avenge the death of his parents and to bring back the peace to all Mexico starting on monterrey and took the name of Exilio (Exile). So batman arrives to mexico (by this time Exilio has been active for a year after training martial arts such as boxing, tae-kwan do and capoeira. and other skills such as parkour.) after receiving reports of the leviathan organization providing advance weapons to local drug cartels, he encounters exilio while he is attempting to catch a drug dealer that was involve in a meeting with leviathan. They work together to stop a negotiation between leviathan and a drug lord, after the heroes succeeds batman reveals that he already know mateo's identity and that the drug lord they arrested was involved in his parents murder and gives his blessing and a spot to the young hero in Batman Inc. as Mexico's Batman.

I like how you use actual current events in Mexico to establish his origins. Smart!

If anybody can bring justice to the people, it would be Batman, or A 'Batman'.

No, seriously, this is pretty much a modern day Zorro story
Zorro was Batman's inspiration. This idea sounds good to me. But I would want the character to be strong, trained to physical perfection. We should have a strong Latin hero.
But the story sounds awesome. You could even sprinkle in a subplot with corrupt policemen and goverment and voila, you have yourself a Mexican Batman.

Yeah it doesn't even have to be Batman related. You can just make him an original hero that coyld have been inspired by Batman, idk. It would really make him stand out. He would inspire other latin heroes, just like Batman inspired many vigilantes and superheroes
