With a major announcement about the future of Superman expected to be made by Jim Lee and Geoff Johns, many are now speculating that the relaunched DC universe (which we already know will feature a younger, newly suited Supes) will see the end of the marriage between Clark Kent and Lois Lane. The two were only ever married because the TV versions played by Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher got hitched in
Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Popular series' like Grant Morrison's
All-Star Superman featured a single Clark Kent, while the upcoming movie from Zack Snyder will also feature a younger, single version of the iconic superhero.
Making Clark single again would not only gather a huge amount of attention from the press (surely a big help in promoting the 52 new #1 titles coming out in September) but would also open up many new story options as Marvel have clealy shown by ending the marriage between Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson in the controversial story, "One More Day".
