COMICS: Brian Michael Bendis To Write ACTION COMICS And SUPERMAN; Check Out Ivan Reis' Awesome Covers

Brian Michael Bendis recently shocked the comic book industry when he signed an exclusive deal with DC Comics, bringing his lengthy Marvel run to an abrupt end. It's now been confirmed that after launching a six-issue weekly series titled Man of Steel, Bendis will make the leap to both Action Comics and Superman in July. His first work for the company will actually arrive in Action Comics #1000

The longtime Ultimate Spider-Man writer will team with a number of artists, including Ivan Reis, Evan "Doc" Shaner, Ryan Sook, Kevin Maguire, Adam Hughes, and Jason Fabok for a series which will "shake up the classic story of Krypton's final days and Kal-El's path to becoming an iconic hero." Bendis will also introduce a new villain who apparently holds a "terrifying secret" about Krypton's destruction.

Bendis will team with Reis for the newly launched Superman #1 after that and it's going to be very interesting seeing what he does with the hero, especially now he'll be dominating the Man of Steel's world! What do you guys think? As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

I tell you, Didio is just as bad as Marvel, f*cker will ruin all the hard work Geoff put in these 2 years for Rebirth/Doomsday Clock.

Of course they will switch teams again, but shit...we have to wait until...like June 2019.
Aint nobody got time for that!

I don’t mind Bendis at DC. I feel the reason Bendis hasn’t been good the past few years at Marvel is because he has already written pretty much every marvel character & exhausted creativity

Him at DC could revive his career creatively

Having said that; him on Superman, Action Comics, & a new comic called Man of Steel is too much

I hope DC gives Tomasi & Gleason called Superfamily focused on Clark, Lois, & Jon. I’m going to miss Tomasi & Gleason

@LEVITIKUZ - I agree. It's like Byrne at Marvel - who had done X-Men, Avengers, Cap, an incredibly long run on FF, Alpha Flight -- and then getting fresh legs again at DC (in 1987?) with Superman. Creatively we all need to stay fresh at our jobs.

Bendis will also introduce a new villain who apparently holds a "terrifying secret" about Krypton's destruction.

Yeahhhhh JMS already did this in Superman: Earth One.

@soberchimera
Yep!
And Lobdell with the character of "H'el" during the New 52 run!

@Doomsday8888 - I avoided New 52 Superman like the plague, with the exception of Grant Morrison's Action Comics run.

Wise decision.
On both accounts.

Maybe Superman comics will actually be good now.

Not the crap-buffet they've been since the New 52 (and even a couple of years before that).

Incoming Jimmy Olsen is gay, Clark and Lois divorcing for the sake of giving some shock value moments in 3....2....1...
