7 Reasons Marvel and their fans are worried about the impending arrival of DC's Batman V superman

Im not just referring to Cap 3 getting changed to an avengers movie. Tonytony breaks down why disney and their fans are so scared of the Dark knight and the man of steel making the historic appearance in cinema.

1) Cap 3 got Changed to CIvil war

THe simple truth DIsney realised is that Batman v superman was an event movie and they needed something else to be able to compete. So poor old cap has had his sequel shelved and instead its now essentially an avengers movie as disney tries its best to ensure its marvel franchise doesnt get left behind.  for every donut out there who claims dc copy marvel, and go on about how man of steel is now batman v superman well dont forget to look at marvel who liked the idea so much they went ahead and copied it.

2) the Failure of Ant Man-

Yes, I said the F word.  Failure is purely subjective from my perspective if i put out a movie with ant mans budget and made a profit I would be celebrating. However DIsney have made it clear that the failure of Ant man (along with AOU) to generate bigger box office is part of what has facilitated the changes in leadership in the marvel brands. Quite simply put ant man is the 13the movie in a much hyped franchise,  it should have generated box office returns like the guardians of the galaxy (although guardians benefited from almost no competition in its run).

3) The Failure of Avengers age of Ultron-

It has also come to light that DIsney was also disatisfied with the box office returns of Age of ULtron, most fans also agree that it was a bit of let down too. DIsney will not be able to get away with a comedic and just plain poor villain like ultron in post batman v superman world.  Because there is no alternative Disney keeps churning out these poor villains that undermine their movies.

Also it made a mockery of the the much hyped up connectivity of the MCU, it almost had no reference to anything that had come before it and focused too much on being a commercial for phase 3 of the MCU.  the idea that the MCU is all neatly planned out well in advance is a fallacy and quite frankly untrue.

4) Diminishing returns of the MCU
Image result for graph point down

THe movies are grossing less and less at the box office, maybe its a sign that people have tired of the marvel "formula" and want something different like BVS. If that was to be successful (as we all anticipate it will be) the pressure on Civil war to perform will go through the roof and might lead to people calling it a failure no matter what it does.

5) Batman

Easily the most succesful comic book character in recent times, between his movies games, animated series comic books. Batman is head and shoulders above anything any other comic book house has made. DC are right to use him because he belongs to them. His very presence means that people who were on the fence about man of steel will still go to see this.

6) Man of steel outgrossed all Marvel Phase 1 movies

- Man of steel outgrossed all marvel phase 1 movies, coming off the back of superman returns and thats not including the 200 mill WB picked up even before it was lunched. His Iconic status means people will always come out to support him. Putting him next to batman is a master stroke. We know that superman and batman will always be a problem for marvel and a succesful superman movie introducing everyone else could potentially lead to the MCU being second fiddle.

7) A successful Batman v superman will mean DC has caught up in one go.

Many "marvel only" guys cant live with this idea, but that will be the case. Fans of the genre will rejoice because a successful BVS will mean increased competition which means both studios will really have up to up game to be number one. As fans we can just sit back and enjoy.  As it gives us more things we can watch at the cinema in the year rather than the endless slew of spy movies and rom-coms.

Regardless what do you think? do you agree?do you disagree? either way let me know below. Also if you liked this article dont forget to give the thumbs up.

Edits like these aren't helpful when trying to defend DC. The truth is, no one is afraid because they're too busy ranting about how their side is better. DC looks like it's in good shape to launch off, while Marvel is setting itself up to finally pass the torch to even lesser known characters. It would be both premature and foolish to either spell impending doom or glorious success at this point. BvS and Justice League, and Civil War and Avengers, will be highly successful. You should not expect any other movies, besides Thor, Guardians and Batman, to make $700 million or more. They just aren't as popular, yet. That only means that the films will have to invest in quality movies, not just brand recognition.

First it's Cap 3 not Cap 2. Second, Cap 3 was always civil war, just how much involvement RDJ'S character has in the film changed. Third, Ant Man was not a failure critically or financially(sure it underperformed compared to other cbms, but given the obscurity of the character it well overperformed what was expected of it). Like Ant Man, AOU did not fail critically or financially. With the exception of AOU every phase 2 sequel out grossed it's original(or original two) film(s). Hitting $1.5 billion with one film is a huge accomplishment no franchise has done twice. Batman is popular, so what? Thanks to the MCU, lesser known and obscure characters are now house hold names, some even on the level of Superman, Batman, and Spiderman. Yeah Man of steel out grossed Marvel phase 1 films, after the MCU, Fox XMen films, and Sony Spider films popularized cbms enough for it to do so. BvS will be successful financially, even if it's not critically, so yeah it will catch up, but again only because cbms are now hot, and because they are using DC's top two characters. Marvel could do the same if they only had a Cap and Iron Man film and Civil War was their third entry coming out next year during the DCEU phase 3.

Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely excited for the DCEU, but this is article is retarded.

Marvel Studios don't "fear" BvS being better or making more money than Civil War. I'm sure they'd like to be the best, but ultimately they want all superhero movies to be good. Why? Because the money lies with the general audience and the general audience don't care about Marvel vs. DC, they care about superheroes. If most superhero movies are good, people will keep watching them. If most superhero movies are bad, people will stop watching them.

The only thing Marvel has to "fear" from DC is them making bad movies, because that would hurt the genre and Marvel's sales.

Also, the Marvel movies aren't making less and less money.

Iron Man 3 almost made more than Iron Man and Iron Man 2 combined.
Thor: TDW made more money than the first Thor.
The Winter Soldier made a lot more than The First Avenger.
Guardians of the Galaxy made more money than any phase 1 movie.
Age of Ultron did make less money than the first Avengers, but come on. It still made 1.4 billion dollars and is on the top 10 highest grossing movies of all time. I'm sure Disney considers it a "failure" in the sense that they'd have liked it to make more money than the first one, but in any conventional meaning it was a success.
Ant-Man is one of the lowest grossing movies in the MCU, yes. But none of the movies in the MCU can be considered a financial failure. Also, Ant-Man had EVERYTHING going against it. Against those odds, it did very well for itself.

Stop creating false narratives and just start being excited we'll soon live in a world where we have (hopefully) great on-screen universes for both Marvel and DC.

This is idiotic.

People who are only fans of one company need to realize that bith companies put out things they would like, and things they would dislike. Saying you dislike 100% of everything a copany puts out is ignorant.

As soon as people can realize that they can begin to enjoy both companies for what they are.

Personally, i couldn't happier that we're getting all these big movies from both companies.
