Character rights I want to revert to Marvel and those I don't want to return to Marvel.

Many fans of Marvel Studios want the rights of their favourite characters to revert to Marvel Studios. I believe that there are some characters that would work on the universe they've set up, and some that won't.

I'm assuming you all read the teaser so I'm diving straight into this.
SPIDER-MAN
Everybody seems to want spidey to team up with the Avengers. Why? I've never understood why this is a popular idea. Spidey isn't a classic avenger like Cap or D-Man, he's Spider-Man. I don't want to see him team up with the Avengers on film. However I do want to see him team up with Daredevil and Luke Cage. Two of his closest friend in the comics and two of the characters that will be appearing on Netflix. So that's what I want. If Peter Parker finally finds himself in the MCU I want the relationships he has with the street level heroes to be shown.
X-MEN
Nope. It's too late now. There is no way you can bring in mutants that are hated and feared when they hardly affect most peoples lives yet have the Avengers adored when they fight aliens and help with the destruction of a lot of New-York. This especially doesn't work when the Avengers have the hulk on the team. Because Banner can still lose control. We saw that during his Hellicarier rampage.
FF
Yes and no. While I'm not a huge fan of the fantastic four I am rather fond of their villains. E.g Anhillius. And that's the only reason why I want the right of these characters to return to Marvel. For a GOTG sequel to focus on the Anhilliation story. I'd love it. The same goes for Galactus an the silver surfer. The FF themselves however I don't mind either way. I'd see the film but I wouldn't be hyped for it like I am AOU or GOTG. Because I don't think they'll ever get a good film. I don't know why I think this it's jus a feeling. Who knows I could be completely wrong and a future FF Film could break records.

So what do you think of my opinions. Agree? Disagree? Let me know in the comments and, if you think the article deserves it, hit that red glove.
Thanks for reading.

Spider-Man and the FF should go back. The X-Men can stay with Fox.

I agree with AlienRobotZombieOverlord. Fox can make X-men work. Fantastic Four can easily fit in with what Marvel studios is doing, and everybody wants Spiderman because he's literally Marvel's most famous character and everyone wants him with Marvel's newfound other popular characters.

I think Spidey should stay with Sony...but they should work out a deal to have him pop up in the MCU.. that would be cool.

FF i wish FULLY reverted...Id love to see an MCU version of the FF...Marvel has proven that they know how to treat their heroes (some villains, not so much)...plus all the other supporting characters and villains....they NEED to be in the MCU.

As for X-Men? Im completely cool with FOX having them and them not crossing over with the MCU. Im sorry i just don't think FOX has the X-men set up properly enough to coexist with the history that the MCU has been setting up.

I happen to like the fact that Marvel Studios doesn't have to worry about producing and distributing these films. It allows them to try their hand at really expanding their universe and exploring other characters (i.e. GOTG, Strange, IM, Cap, Thor, etc.). They already have their plate full enough, Its good that they can share the production of some of these franchises with other studios.....it just sucks that these other studios try to put their own egotistical spin on some of these characters.

The problem with partnering up, say having the Amazing Spiderman show up in the MCU, is that Marvel studios has complete control of their own continuity. If they partnered so Andrew Garfield Spiderman could show up in a crossover, then what happens when Sony does a Spiderman sequel and something happens that completely contradicts the MCU? What happens if Sony and Marvel have creative differences, and have a falling out? Do we just pretend then that everything with Spiderman never happened in the MCU? Retcon it? No........this would start to unravel the universe. Just like First Class started to really unravel the X films. So they tried to fix it with DOFP? By wiping out all the X films that came out a decade ago? No......it sounds like a bad idea. Keep this universe well put together Marvel.

if x-men and spider were at marvel then we wouldn't get a movie about them every 2-3 years, instead it would be maybe 4-7 year gap between movies

And im one of the people that really wanna see Spiderman and Wolverine join the Avengers eventually. I just dont think it should happen before Marvel gets the rights back if ever. If by a miracle they did get the rights back, it would be so easy to introduce Spiderman and Mutants into the MCU. Have Spiderman show up as a young superhero. Fresh on the streets. That way we dont get the whole "Where was he during the battle of New York" that we know we would hear if they portrayed him as a hero that has been around for a while. And the Mutants, simple, modernize them. Dont show that thousands exist. Have them be a relatively secret and unknown anomaly. Have them recently exposed. That way people will react realistically to something named a Mutant. People would be afraid of that. People are still scared of the Hulk. People still hate him. No different for the Mutants. Then we can tell the stories right from the comics. Bigotry and ignorance makes more sense when its something new that people are not familiar with. The only problem, Magneto. His back story and origin rely on the Holocaust so that you can truly understand the character. My fix, secondary mutation. Prolonged lifespan. That way we dont get another geriatric super villain. Magneto as dangerous as hes supposed to be. In the comics his youth was returned to him by Alpha. A little complicated I think. So simplify it.

Have Spider-man and the Fantastic Four be brought back to Marvel and FOX can keep the X-men.

Wish Fantastic Four would go back to Marvel, there's so much that could be done with them being in the MCU. Not only with their villains but the interaction between the Fantastic Four and the heroes of the MCU also.

I mean Galactus and Silver Surfer wreaking havoc in the MCU? Yes please!

"Revert all of them

This is not even a question or debate at this point

When you get 7 X Men films with little to no X Men, there's a problem

When you get the Ultimate Spider Man film and it's absolute shit, there's a problem

When you get an FF movie that isn't even going to be the FF, there's a HUGE problem

Revert"

Bless this post.

I think no matter how you put it, Marvel characters rule the world, wether your preference is MCU, Fox Marvel or Sony Marvel is all Marvel characters. I'd like to see them revert to Marvel just because Fox and Sony have had way too many missteps, and I am not sure how many reboots, or timeline resets they can do before they completely destroy the characters. Just my opinion.

Fantastic 4 and their universe of villains and side characters.

I don't mind the F4 being absent, but they have too many characters that are needed for what the MCU is doing. No matter how good the MCU is, the cosmic side of things just don't feel right without Galactus, Silver Surfer, and Skrulls.

On the other side of the coin, the earthbound MCU doesn't feel right without Dr. Doom.

The MCU can live without the X-Men. Until very recently in the comics, the X-Men mostly stuck to their own little corner of the Marvel Universe. They are not needed, although I would love to see Marvel's take on them.

@ KallarkKent

How many times can they make a crappy F4 film before people (the general audience especially) stop caring about them altogether. At that point, it wouldn't matter if Marvel made a new F4 series.
