"Don't be surprised if we come back to that story at some point in the near future," teased Marvel's Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso regarding Marvel's November 2011 "Point One" . Now it seems that may just be happening with the murder of Uatu the Watcher May of next year

Retailers have even begun receiving a postcard from Marvel, featuring the chalk outline of The Watcher, bloody smears where his eyes would be without any creator names on the card.

In the 2011 Point One a pair of space-suited figures crept around a slumbering Uatu, The Watcher and caught glimpses of stories and events yet to come, including Avengers vs. X-Men, Sam Alexander as Nova, the return of the Scarlet Spider ,and Age of Ultron. The issue ends with the duo leaving Uatu's home as he began to awaken, saying that The Unseen would soon kill the Watcher, "and all of his secrets will be ours."

Glad that Earth X was not forgotten, even if he though Uatu is dead instead of blinded.

@ MrFridayNight

whenever something major happens in the marvel universe, uatu the watcher normally shows up & observes what is going down but never gets involved.

this is a big deal,he is a big cosmic heavyweight.

Are people seriously asking who Uatu is?

@MARVELPSYCHO79 I've read several, and I don't think he's shown up in any of them (actually, was he in Civil War talking to Doctor Strange?)
Clearly he's not a character who is used very often, or used much outside of cosmic Marvel, which is why casual fans (or fans who focus mostly or entirely on Earth-based Marvel comics) might not be familiar with him.
Now, I have heard of him, but I have almost no idea what role he plays in the Marvel universe, because it's not important based on what I've read, which seems to be the case with a lot of other people.

And some of those "Fox-Men" movies are good. I don't let studio favoritism bias my taste in movies. If a movie is good, I'll say it's good, if it's shit, I'll say it's shit, I don't care who made it. The Wolverine (Fox's best X-Men film IMO) is better than at least half of Marvel Studios' films. In fact, the only Marvel Studios films I'd say are better than The Wolverine are Iron Man 3 and maybe Captain America: The First Avenger.
