Hello Friends. This review is gonna be on the short run of the new Sorcerer Supreme Jericho Drumm aka Brother Voodoo. He was announced as the successor in New Avengers and then gained a series of his own. Now I'm not gonna do each issue individually. I'm gonna well the entire run, which is only 5 issues. I read all of them and I really enjoyed the story. This arc was about Jericho and his ghost brother dealing with the supernatural and trying to cement his role as the new Sorcerer Supreme, even going days without sleeping. Dr. Strange has a cameo in the first few issues, kinda like a guy who hangs around to give advice. The storyline is also centered with Doctor Doom who wants the Eye of Agamotto for himself(as usual) and he has a vision of something and wished Jericho luck. Jericho accidentally releases a creature called Nightmare, a villain of Dr strange and Ghost Rider. Jericho flees the battle and sees that the world has been taken over by Nightmare. He is then attacked by both Ghost Riders and the only place left safe in the world is...you guessed it....Doctor Doom. He and Doctor Doom join forces and are able to defeat Nightmare and the arc ends with a potential new villain and a new arc.
This review was an abridge take on the arc but I highly recommend the run. I enjoyed the character, the magic, and it wasn't that bad of a story. IGN gave the series a high and low scores from issue to issue, but they are tough reviewers(they didn't score Wednesday Comics 1-12). It's sad to see its run end but I guess it was due to low sales and not a popular character. I hope we do see him in the Heroic Age part of a new time. I would like to see a team called the Magic Avengers, a team comprised of people possessing the powers of the supernatural. I give this series a 4/5, the art a 4/5. and the 1 arc we got a 5/5. Til next time...My next TPB review will be Iron Man: Enter the Mandarin, stay tuned. BlackAirs out!!

Nice review!

I coulda told you that Dr. VooDoo wasn't gonna sell very well. He's just not a very well known character. Even more popular characters like Dr. Strange have difficulty selling their own book. I think as long as Marvel gives Jerico good writers as well as multiple crossovers, this title may turn a lot more heads. I didn't bother to read any of these issues mostly because the first one got a real bad review by CBR. Having read this review, however, I'll have to go back and give it a look.

I don't read their reviews. I tend to look for things that interest me and I thought this was a good looking comic, sadly it didn't sell enough. I guess the reason why he and Dr. Strange are hard to sell because they seem to be the supportive types rather than in the line of fire kinds like the Avengers

Scarlett Witch as the New Sorcerer Supreme would have been interesting to see. Perhaps a sexier new outfit too.lol.

@Anil: Agreed. Jericho Drumm really came outa left field in this one. He was maybe one of 2 people on the teaser poster that I had never seen before.
