Marvel Comics has revealed that we will get a chance to witness the Hulk's fury from a horrifying new perspective in a fascinating new Hulk Annual set to be released this May.

Written by David Pepose (Savage Avengers) and illustrated by Caio Majado (Edge of Spider-Verse), the oversized issue will present "The Viridian Project," a terrifying tale stitched together from found footage. Set in the town that birthed the Hulk, the story introduces a ragtag group of young filmmakers who set out to uncover the truth behind the Green Goliath’s origin but end up getting a firsthand look at his deadly rage!

It's said that this haunting epic will keep us on the edge of our seats with thrills as well as thought-provoking insights into The Hulk's effect on the world around him.

In the comic, a documentary crew is on the hunt for a monster at the heart of a gamma radiation leak, but they get much more than they bargained for when they’re caught in the middle of a brawl between two unstoppable giants, as Hulk battles an unleashed Giganto.

"When my editor Wil Moss first reached out to me about writing this Hulk Annual, it took me a beat to wrap my head around the enormity of it all," Pepose says. "The Hulk is such a massive character, just this larger-than-life figure who is equal parts man, monster, and unstoppable force of nature."

"And it's that feeling of unfathomable scale that we're looking to explore in 'The Viridian Project,' our found-footage story about a team of filmmakers shooting a documentary on the legacy of Bruce Banner...and the horrors they discover when they actually find him."

"It's been incredibly exciting to dive into the Hulk's adventures through this truly human lens," the writer continues. "I can't wait for readers to witness first-hand what it's like to ride out an encounter with The Strongest One There Is!"

In addition, Hulk Annual #1 promises to include an exclusive preview of the Hulk’s next era that a new creative team will be kicking off later in the summer.

For now, check out Gary Frank's cover ahead of this issue's release on May 17.

It's a big tease when you get a great artist like Gary Frank doing the cover and then you open it up and you get the art from a very below average artist like Caio Majado.

We need a bad a$$ Hulk movie. I know the reasons we can't, but if the mouse got his hands on Spider-Man, they can do this too.

@DocSpock - I never really felt intimidated by the MCU's Hulk at all, even before he became Professor Hulk. We just need one Hulk movie that shows him massacring a entire military and being a true uncontrollable rage monster.

My idea would be that a group of Canadian soldiers go out into the snowy Rockies searching for a out of control monster that has been terrorizing small towns and killing off a lot of it's residents. The soldiers are killed off one by one by the Hulk so Department K sends out their own super-soldier, WOLVERINE! The two fight but soon put together that Hulk was not the one who killed all those people so the two team up and battle against the actual monster, the Wendigo. And that's how we get 1. a proper Hulk film, 2. introduce Wolverine, and 3. get a badass Wolverine v Hulk fight.

@FilmGuy7878 - Yeah, that's sounds like a good take, BUT I will throw this out there: it's very likely that during the "Mutant Saga" (or whatever it's called), some of the premier characters will be introduced via Social Presentations and/or Series on D+, and if that's the case, I'd bet my right nut (already lost the left one in a cock fight in Shang Hai (and not the type of "cock fight" that you'd think), that Wolverine would have his own series (possibly not even a limited series). And the story that you just described would make for a great stand alone episode in that series, if they decided to do it as an anthology, which I personally think that they should.

They could totally do an anthology series with him which they use to introduce lesser know mutants/non-mutants from the comics, Alpha Flight, etc. This pretty much writes itself. AND, it could go on for more than one season because Logan has been around for so long. Not saying that they do something contrived like "Guess what? He was actually the one who killed JFK" or "He was an avatar of Khonshu 10 years ago" or some stupid shit like that. What I mean is, they shouldn't use Logan as the one who ties the MCU together.

Beside, by all looks of it, Kang will probably handle a good amount of that anyway.

@FilmGuy7878 -

I could dig that. They should also get Sabertooth in on that. Maybe Rosie O'Donnell. Now THAT would be SCARY!

"Let's do Hulk, but from a human perspective". "Oooooh found footage!" "Yeah get a real POV on a monster story." "What should be call it". "Definitely something project. All good found footage movies have project in the title". "hmmm, green project? " "To on the nose". " Jade pro.." "no". "hmmm, VERIDIAN PROJECT!" "basically the color of money baby!"

sorry, this isn't really jumping out at me as being all that inventive...

@SATW42 - certain people bought to be shocked because they think I'm a Marvel fanboi.

@SATW42 - we all know if it were an mcu movie you'd be praising the f@#$ out of it (and implying people who don't like it are bigots).

@SATW42 - it's amazing how, when you attack people for not liking mcu films, those people view you as a blind fanboy.
SATW42
SATW42 - 2/8/2023, 9:42 AM
@Origame - I really don't attack people for not liking MCU films. You really keep trying to drive home this idea that I think people should like She-Hulk. I don't give a shit if you do or not, I just can tell the difference between the people who have valid criticisms and the people who are just "go woke go broke" bullshit stirrers. Go woke go broke is not a valid argument against anything, in my humble opinion. It just makes you sound like an idiot who probably listens to Ben Shapiro
Origame
Origame - 2/8/2023, 10:01 AM
@SATW42 - well I and many others have talked bad about she hulk, and you attack us for it.

Also, your changing your stance now. When we called you out before for this, you claimed it was because I give my stance so often. Probably changed it because, with us being on a different thread where I'm not actually criticizing it, you can just pretend what I've been saying to confuse people.
SATW42
SATW42 - 2/8/2023, 10:16 AM
@Origame - No, I still think you going into every she-hulk article just to say you don't like it is weird and shows it's more about an agenda than just not liking it. Most people who don't like things say it an then live their lives not liking it, not going into every story they see about it to make sure the world knows their feelings.
Origame
Origame - 2/8/2023, 10:43 AM
@SATW42 - the only agenda is that I don't like it. Plenty of others here do exactly the same because it's a hated show. Also, where's that same energy for the praise? And why do you care either way? So what if I say it in every she hulk article? The only people who would be bothered by it are fanboys like you.
SATW42
SATW42 - 2/8/2023, 11:32 AM
@Origame - where's this energy for the praise? Going into a thread about episode five 5 minutes after it drops at 3am (or whatever your timezone is) to say you enjoyed what you watched is A LITTLE bit different from you being 5 episodes into a show, watching it as soon as it drops, A SHOW YOU DON'T LIKE, and then letting us know you still don't like it.

"I hate this show, can't wait to stay up until midnight to watch it as soon as it's available". You were ALWAYS one of the first to reply to the earliest storys that dropped talking about it like you watched it. At best you were lying and didn't actually watch the episode. At worst you were anxiously waiting for 9 weeks for episodes to drop so you could say you watched it and let everyone know you hated it. Thats insane.
Origame
Origame - 2/8/2023, 11:38 AM
@SATW42 - apparently hate watching is a foreign concept to you. People enjoy watching shows they don't like ironically.

And if you say that's pathetic, who tf are you to dictate how people enjoy spending their time? At least I keep it about the show, and not the audience. Unlike you.
Origame
Origame - 2/8/2023, 11:40 AM
@SATW42 - what's insane is caring what anyone else is saying about a show.
SATW42
SATW42 - 2/8/2023, 11:44 AM
@Origame - oh it's not foreign to me. I just choose to spend my time doing things I enjoy. I certainly don't make hate watching something appointment television.
Origame
Origame - 2/8/2023, 11:55 AM
@SATW42 - well you've spent a lot of your time attacking people you disagree with. How's that not as insane as what I'm doing, according to your logic? At least I keep it to a product I'm expected to pay for. You attack people you've never actually met because they dared to say something bad about she hulk.
SATW42
SATW42 - 2/8/2023, 12:09 PM
@Origame - again, i've attacked the people with a clear pattern of what they like and don't like, because it's very clear where they are coming from.
Origame
Origame - 2/8/2023, 1:12 PM
@SATW42 - yes. That I don't like she hulk. Any pattern you're seeing requires you to ignore films I have praised, like Alita battle angel.
SATW42
SATW42 - 2/8/2023, 2:23 PM
@Origame - oh good. Gives me Bunny Caldwell in Cruel intention vibes: "Oh, don't give me any of that racist crap! My Husband and I gave money to Colin Powell!"
Origame
Origame - 2/8/2023, 2:51 PM
@SATW42 - ...you do know racism and sexism means you hold those prejudices against ALL of that group, right? There are no klans member burning crosses going "you know, I really like that Michael Jordan".

Plus, your assumptions about Me are based on a pattern you notice. But guess what? When I point out how I go against that pattern, you no longer have grounds against me.

Female led movies and shows have just as much validity for criticism as male led shows. It's not about their chromosomes that I care about. It's the quality of their stories.

But let's go back to this. By making that "racist people be deflecting" comment basically proves you believed my hatred for she hulk is down to sexism. A classic deflection to ignore what I'm actually saying. Because you have no defense for the show, or any of your attacks. You just hate seeing people talk sh!t about shows you like.

They already kind of did this with the Marvel conspiracy back in the 90s.

This has potential. Especially if it is set 50 years ago when there was none of the nonsense infecting comics today.
