James Gunn Says Marvel Studios Will NOT Attend SDCC This Year
According to Guardians Of The Galaxy director, James Gunn, Marvel Studios has some "interesting" plans for this year's San Diego Comic Con. And by interesting, we mean they have NONE. Find out what Gunn had to say about this via both Facebook and Twitter after the jump.
Mavel Studios, for the past couple of years, have used San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) as a promotional catalysts for many of their upcoming releases and casting additions. Last year, we saw a glimpse at this summer's Avengers sequel, as well as some details regarding the Paul Rudd-led Ant-Man. However, with Marvel recently having their own event at the El Capitan Theater to announce Black Panther and Captain America: Civil War, is Marvel Studios' reign over SDCC at an end?
Gunn revealed, via his official Facebook page, that he isn't going to SDCC this year because Marvel will not be there this year. Is Marvel simply conceding this year to WB as they're sure to be releasing a ton of new info on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. Or is this now the norm, and Marvel will only attend D23 and announce their new film additions and talent acquisitions at their own fan event?
