Stan Lee Has An Unexpected Cameo Appearance On Disney Cruise Line's Marvel Day At Sea

Stan Lee only has a handful of cameos left in the MCU following his passing last year, but fans were pleasantly surprised when the Marvel legend appeared on screen during a show on the Disney Cruise Line.

Stan Lee tragically passed away last November, but through previously recorded and filmed sessions, we've yet to have to say our permanent goodbyes to the Marvel Comics legend.

Earlier this month, Lee made his final animated appearance in Marvel's Avengers: Black Panther's Quest. He's also expected to appear in at least two more Marvel Cinematic Universe films as he's reportedly shot scenes for Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel. While neither of these cameos is unexpected, Marvel fans were treated to a pleasant surprise on the Disney Cruise Line, which hosts select sailings that celebrate Marvel.

Thanks to one of our readers, who hosts WDW Radio with Lou Mongello, a podcast about Disney and Marvel, it's been shared that Marvel Day at Sea features a special cameo appearance from Stan Lee. The nighttime stage show, "Heroes Unite," brings to life many of Marvel's superheroes in an action-packed show. At one point, Stan Lee appears on the big screen as the ship's "Captain" with a special message for guests.

It's a 30-minute show, but you can catch Lee's recorded cameo appearance at around 4:10 (and again later at around 17:00). You may also catch appearances from Red Skull and, for the first time ever, Captain Marvel.

We'll hopefully be able to see Stan Lee appear on the big screen at least two more times when Captain Marvel (March 8) and Avengers: Endgame (April 26) hit theaters.

Someone on reddit suggested that maybe Stan's brother Larry Lieber could take over for him by making cameos in Marvel movies from now on. Any thoughts?

@polarkyle - I think that's an awful idea. It should only be Stan. Plus, I'm sure they have tons of unused cameo footage, so if anything they can use those.

I think it would be really great if the post-credits scene of Endgame is a tribute to Stan. It would be so perfect a send-off.

@L0RDbuckethead - I did my best to hold it together at the 4:00 mark when The Man appears and the passengers gasp in surprise.

Lol, As and adult i know I would have fun there, but man that looks like something the 10 year old me would have died to see. I bet the kids love it.

I saw one of those Disney ships back in Nassau. Damn that ship was [frick]ing huge. Kinda jealous tho, because I suppose it is a heck load of fun aboard a ship like that compared to normal ones.

Also, I appreciate that Stan the cruiseman makes an appearance
