Stan Lee tragically
passed away last November, but through previously recorded and filmed sessions, we've yet to have to say our permanent goodbyes to the Marvel Comics legend.
Earlier this month, Lee
made his final animated appearance in
Marvel's Avengers: Black Panther's Quest. He's also expected to appear in at least two more Marvel Cinematic Universe films as he's reportedly shot scenes for
Avengers: Endgame and
Captain Marvel. While neither of these cameos is unexpected, Marvel fans were treated to a pleasant surprise on the Disney Cruise Line, which hosts select sailings that celebrate Marvel.
Thanks to one of our readers, who hosts
WDW Radio with Lou Mongello, a podcast about Disney and Marvel, it's been shared that Marvel Day at Sea features a special cameo appearance from Stan Lee. The nighttime stage show, "Heroes Unite," brings to life many of Marvel's superheroes in an action-packed show. At one point, Stan Lee appears on the big screen as the ship's "Captain" with a special message for guests.
It's a 30-minute show, but you can catch Lee's recorded cameo appearance at around 4:10 (and again later at around 17:00). You may also catch appearances from Red Skull and, for the first time ever,
Captain Marvel.
We'll hopefully be able to see Stan Lee appear on the big screen at least two more times when
Captain Marvel (March 8) and
Avengers: Endgame (April 26) hit theaters.
