COMICS: The Rosters For The X-MEN GOLD And BLUE Teams Have Finally Been Revealed

We recently learned that Marvel is bringing back the Blue and Gold X-Men teams, and now official artwork has been released, finally revealing which mutants will be on each team and who'll be leading them.

During the 90s, Marvel launched colour themed books for their then massively popular X-Men titles. Next April, X-Men: Gold and X-Men: Blue return as part of the "ResurrXion" line-up of titles which will launch after the events of Inhumans vs. X-Men. Thanks to IGN, we now know which mutants will be on each team, and it's worth noting that Marvel is seemingly putting the focus on firm fan-favourites.

X-Men: Gold will be written by Marc Guggenheim with artwork by Ardian Syaf, and Kitty Pryde looks set to step up as the team leader of a squad which consists of Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Old Man Logan, and Rachel Grey. Unfortunately, this seemingly confirms that the original Wolverine won't be returning her as many suspected meaning that he'll still be on the shelf when Logan is released.

X-Men: Blue meanwhile will be written by Cullen Bunn with artwork by Jorge Molina. The roster will consist of the five original, time-displaced X-Men: leader Jean Grey, Cyclops, Iceman, Beast and Angel, but joining them is Magneto. He'll serve as their new mentor now Professor X is no longer around, and that sherve as an interesting new dynamic to a team used to seeing him as their greatest enemy.

@Spidey91 - Those X-Men Teams were around a few years before Pokemon was even a thing.

@Spidey91 - Spoken like a true Millennial...

@Spidey91 - Blue and Gold has been out forever in X-Men. Go read the 90s run or the Uncanny run when they all wore blue and gold costumes.

@Ramiel - Um... they didn't actually color coordinate.

They were named that in homage to the original X-Men School colors.
The teams themselves didn't change their uniforms to match.

@WYLEEJAY - first off, I'm 25. second, I didn't know that. I was just making a joke.

@Ramiel - So close.

They all wore the same blue and gold costumes just before the Blue and Gold teams actually became a thing. That didn't happen until Adjectiveless X-Men#1, when they first introduced the Blue and Gold teams.

Everyone was back to wearing their own unique costumes at that point.

@Spidey91 - Lol. You don't have to be born after 2000 to be a millennial. That's the next generation after us Gen xers. You still fall in that category I believe. Would have to look that up. But it's definitely applied to people your age still.

Both sound terrible, no thanks. I'll wait until the characters I like get a book.

The original time displaced x-men are and always have been an abomination. Same goes for taking Old Man Logan out of the alternate reality in which he belongs. The rest of the gold team is OK but not any of my favorites (many of whom are dead and replaced by crappy versions, while others had character changes forced on them that make them fairly dull and less unique & conflicted).

So wait...Cyclops gets killed in X-Men vs. Inhumans....only to be brought back as a younger member reminiscent of the 60's and they're going to run with Old Man Logan on the Gold Team??? Why? Besides...isn't Wolverine dead too?!
