MURDERWORLD: It May Be Game Over For Earth's Mightiest Heroes In Comic Book Series This November

This November, Marvel's greatest heroes will confront the full terror of Murderworld in an exciting new comic book saga!

Crafted by writers Jim Zub (Conan the Barbarian) and Ray Fawkes (Constantine), along with artist Jethro Morales (Marvel's Voices: Pride), this five-part series will plunge us into the darkest depths of Arcade's Murderworld, the classic location that's caused mayhem in the Marvel Universe for decades.

Overloaded with gut-wrenching twists, unbelievable deaths, and bloodied and bruised Marvel heroes, this unpredictable story will reveal just how deadly Murderworld truly is and uncover shocking truths behind the countless victims that have found themselves trapped there. Kicking off in Murderworld: Avengers #1, we'll then get a number of one-shots starring Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Moon Knight before an epic final issue tying all those plot threads together.

Hundreds are killed every year in an elaborate secret tournament run by a sadistic man with nearly limitless resources at his fingertips. It’s not an urban legend. It’s not a myth - Murderworld is real! It’s online, and the gruesome truth has been hidden from everyone except its victims - until now.

Meet Paul Pastor, the extraordinary young documentarian who’s going to expose it all...with some super-powered help, starting with the Avengers! In Murderworld: Avengers, the Black Widow has a personal grudge to settle with Murderworld mastermind Arcade - but can she stop this game before it kills again?

"When I first saw Murderworld in an issue of Uncanny X-Men, I was fascinated by its colorful corniness mixed with deception and violence," Zub explained. "Many years ago, Ray and I chatted about a twisted thriller-survival story set in Arcade's deadly playground and now, starting with Murderworld: Avengers, we're finally getting the chance to unleash it!"

"Murderworld is one of those stealthy, ultra-compelling concepts that always made the Marvel Universe so fascinating to me - the gaudy, family-fun veneer slapped over a deadly threat," Fawkes added. "When Jim and I were discussing it, ideas to make it more and more frightening and exciting just kept coming to us. I’m thrilled to bring them to readers in all their horrible glory!"

It sounds like Arcade is going to raise the stakes higher than ever before when we return to Murderworld this November, and we're intrigued to see how this story plays out. Check out Paco Medina's Murderworld: Avengers #1 cover below.

So an ultra diluted version of "Dead Tube" with superheroes in it?

@KanchaCheena -

Been around longer than Dead Tube.

More like:

Actually, just bite this episode, keep making Arcade responsible for a long winded escape into another escape room/ simulation, and run it 5 issues with Arcade escaping, leaving the Avengers questioning reality. I'd like that.

Can Arcade actually build anything that is going to be more than a minor annoyance to Thor??

Murderworld predates Squid Game

@BuzzKillington - yep I know I'm just highlighting the choice to make this comic series now, given the success of that show.

Ok

@Radders - Yeah that was what I immediately thought of reading that description above (and yes I know that Murderworld predates Squid Game as well). Seems like a good time to bring back MW given the current popularity of SG. Can't say that I blame them. I'd probably do the same thing. Gotta catch the next hype train.

@StSteven - yep very true

I kinda wanna see Arcade and Murderworld in live-action, but more as a stand-alone thing like Joker or Sandman. Think that could work too
