Hush Batman and Catwoman Kiss

A Femme Fatle is a seductive woman who lures men into dangerous or compromising situations by an aura of charm and mystery. This article contains my favorite of the bunch.

10.  Inque

The result of a clandestine mutagenic experiment, Inque is a treacherous shape-shifting femme fatale, and foe to Batman Beyond. Similar to Clayface and the Original Batman.

9. Talia Al Ghul

Talia is the daughter of Ra's al Ghul and the heir to his world-wide criminal empire. She is also the mother of Batman's son, Damian, who shared a love-hate relationship with the Dark Knight.

8. Star Sapphire

Star Sapphire 008

Carol used to be a pilot, but, after her father retired, she gave it up to run the family business (Ferris Air, a company in Coast City that makes aircraft). She hired her childhood friend, Hal Jordan, as a test pilot. Soon after Hal became a Green Lantern, Carol found herself possessed by a Star Sapphire gem. The gem gave her power, but also took over her mind to often very bad effect. After the formation of the Star Sapphire Corps however, Carol has been able to remain herself and act as a hero.

7.  Black Cat

Former cat burglar Felicia Hardy became a crime fighter when she became romantically attracted to and involved with Spider-Man. Felicia has the ability to instill "bad luck" around others - this comes in handy when fighting crime!

6. Jean Grey (Dark Pheonix)

Jean Grey was one of the five original X-Men. An Omega-level mutant telekinetic and telepath, Jean has gained near limitless powers as a recurrent host of the Phoenix Force. She is known for her many returns from death and as the deceased wife of Cyclops.

5. Faora Hu-Ul

Superman Wonder Woman Vol 1 5 Textless

Faora Hu-Ul is a beautiful and dangerous Kryptonian woman who was imprisoned in The Phantom Zone for 300 years after she tortured and murdered 23 Kryptonian Men. After escaping from the Phantom Zone she plots alongside fellow Kryptonian General Zod.

4. Harley Quinn

HQ BT 2

Harleen Quinzel, the Arkham psychiatrist who fell in love with the Joker. A "mad love" would lead her to a life of crime as Harley Quinn, frequent accomplice, and would-be-girlfriend of the Clown Prince of Crime. In The New 52, she is a member of the Suicide Squad.

3. Mystique

printSizeImage

True to her name, the shape shifting Mystique is an enigma. Is she a mutant terrorist determined to bring about the end of humanity, or a misguided mutant with a good heart?

2. Poison Ivy

A botanical biochemist, Pamela Isley is a fervent eco-terrorist out to save the world's plant life by any means necessary. She often finds herself at odds with Batman, though they have, on occasion, fought on the same side.

1. Catwoman

Catwoman, the costumed alias persona of Selina Kyle, is a mostly reformed cat burglar with an on-again, off-again, romantic relationship with Batman. She is shown as a woman who is very strong-willed, independent and morally conflicted with her past.

I haven't read nearly anything with Faora but how is she a Femme Fatale?

@Alphadog

I would say she's more of a villianess than a femme fatale.

Maybe it's because I'm more of a DC fan but does anyone else think Black Cat is Marvel's Catwoman?

Catwoman and Talia definitely reign supreme on this list!
DC loves their femme fatales.

Mystique is definitely Marvel's main femme fatale.

All of these women are bad-ass characters.

Whoops!

@TheDonofGotham

Oh yeah definitely she's a copycat (see what I did there?) DC and Marvel have always copied their characters back and forth to create "new" ones.

Replace Faora with Emma Frost

FF's use their sheer sex appeal and seductive quality to seduce and manipulate people and I think Emma Frost definitely fits that category, especially within the Hellfire Club and the whole Scott/Jean triangle.

My personal vote goes to Umar of course. Or one of the various other temptress types that came across Dr Strange.

@TheDonOfGotham:
Here's a fun little factoid for you. Catwoman got her current persona and costume after Black Cat showed up in Spider-Man with that look and relationship to the hero. The Bat-villainess was still running around in green and purple at the time. So Catwoman is the copy of a character she was the original inspiration for... Or something... :D

Catwoman has absolutely built a better persona out of those same characteristics.

Batman Beyond actually did a similar thing as it is basically, what if Batman were Spider-Man. Complete with cloned villains, Inque above was based on Venom actually and not Clayface. Not an indictment of BB either, I loved that show.

She really isn't for Supes, but she was imprisoned in the phantom zone for the torture and murder on 23 men. She's a known man hater.

@TheDonofGotham Exactly she's not a Femme Fatale.
@Dingbat That's not what a femme fatale is.

I second Emma Frost. Has to be up there.

Yeah, I agree with Cherry. I'd throw Emma up there as well, but that's just me.

Of these, my favourites are probably Catwoman and Talia. Especially Talia, I just think the whole Batman/Ra's/Talia dynamic is so fascinating. I mean, to me.. Talia has always represented the life that Batman could have if those pesky morals just didn't get in the way all the bloody time, y'know? A moonlit shag-a-thon, a kid or two, and an approving father figure in Ra's..

He could actually be happy. Even with such a substantial amount of stick up his arse. Talia..

What. A. Tease.

Emma's just so enigmatic.

I mean, she has a power over men and she knows it, and she absolutely LOVES it. It's what gets 'er off, but she's got a heart under that hard exterior of hers.

I'm 100% convinced that @cipher knows just as much (probably more) about comics and their characters than anyone else on this site...but unlike everyone else, he doesn't feel like he has anything to prove, or have an ego, or the attention-whoring mindset to make himself look better/smarter than anyone else.

Love reading these insightful comments of yours, man!

@SauronsBANE

Haha, thanks, mate. I appreciate that. I like hearing what ya got to say too, bud.

Yeah, I'm just laid back about a lot of things in general, y'know? I know what I know, but, like you said.. I just don't like to make a big show of it.

Poker-faced, I guess you could say.

I'm always clowning around instead, haha.

@cipher, Haha it's safe to say this site needs a few more down-to-earth, low-key guys (and gals) like you and yoss to provide some contrast with the unending flame wars and obnoxious trolls. Even though I'm sure I don't exactly help with the troll problem around these parts (Lord knows I have no idea how to walk away from any kind of fight haha), it's always nice to have folks who clown around and don't take everything too seriously!

Can't believe you didn't count Emma Frost in your list.
