POLL: Which DCU "Chapter 1: Gods And Monsters" Movie Or TV Show From DC Studios Are You Most Excited For?

We kicked this week off with the long-awaited DCU slate revealed, but it's now time for you to decide which of the DC Studios movies and TV shows in "Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters" you're most excited for!

James Gunn promised that the DC Studios slate would be revealed in January, and even though he kept us waiting until the very last minute, we'd say it was worth it.

While we still have a handful of DCEU movies to get through in 2023, the DCU looks set to kick off next year, and whether you're a casual fan of the big-name characters or an expert on all things DC, Gunn and Peter Safran have definitely covered all possible bases. Excitingly, that's the case both on film and television.

On the small screen, we have the zany, animated Creature Commandos which looks set to lead into Peacemaker follow-up Waller. Time-travelling "superhero" Booster Gold will also take centre stage on HBO Max, while we know many of you are counting down the days until Hal Jordan and John Stewart finally share the screen in Lanterns

The DCU is even going to deliver its own take on Game of Thrones with the Themyscira-set Paradise Lost

In theaters, this new shared world looks set to begin in earnest with Superman: Legacy before we head to a darker corner of the DCU in The Authority (and if you've read the comic books, we're sure you know how crazy things could get there),

Batman (not Robert Pattinson) and Robin will be reunited on the big screen in The Brave and the Bold, and Swamp Thing also looks set to get his due courtesy of Logan director James Mangold. Perhaps most intriguing is Superman: Woman of Tomorrow, a movie based on Tom King's phenomenal - and now sold-out - comic book of the same name.

We've already shared our rankings of these projects, but now it's time for you, ComicBookMovie.com's readers, to weigh in with your thoughts on which of these DC Studios movies and TV shows you're most excited about.

Cast your vote in the poll below and check back here next week for the results!

Outside of Superman Legacy it's easily Swamp Thing for me. The HBO show proved you can make some damn good material based on the character.

@ModHaterSLADE - Daredevil,Swamp Thing and probably Invincible are the 3 best comic book TV shows ever.

@marvel72 - You're right! That Swamp-Thing show was fantastic. I was pissed when it got cancelled
and Daredevil season one is the very best season of any show for me!

It would make it way more interesting if you included The Batman part II.

It was part of the upcoming slate revealed to the press, it just wasn't mentioned in the video.

Maybe a separate poll for which Batman movie are you most looking forward to?

@ObserverIO - Need to read The Authority, I always thought Ellis was a way better writer than Morrison or Millar even though they latter two both worked on Authority too. And it was basically deconstructing the superhero genre long before The Boys and Invincible.

@ObserverIO - I’m pretty sure it was deliberately left out because it would have won by a landslide.
ObserverIO
ObserverIO - 2/3/2023, 1:21 PM
@soberchimera - It's pretty good. When it first came out it was one of the first times comics seemed like they were shot on analogue IMAX or something.
It's probably not so impressive these days, because once the Ultimates hit, a lot of comics adopted that style and now it's quite commonplace.

Still whenever I think of The Authority I think of a superhero movie on the biggest scale imaginable.

No pressure, DC Studios, lol.

@MrDandy - I'm not so sure. People are pretty excited for Brave and the Bold. Whereas they seem to be merely looking forward to The Batman part II.

Brave and the Bold is giving us what fans have been wanting from a Batman movie for a long time now. Over a decade at least.

None. It all stinks. Gunn sucks and it's just a money grab.

Batman always leads the polls lol

I'm mostly excited for lanterns although I feel it should be on the big screen with a big budget and not as a TV show.

Lanterns.

Not even my favourite heroes out of the bunch, but the premise of the show highly intrigues me

Don't think Gunn should do anything Batman related until Reeves finishes his trilogy, I mean c'mon if the DC universe is so vast and eclectic there's no need for two simultaneous Batmen.

@soberchimera - didn’t Reeve mention in an interview that he viewed it as a 5-part story? Could be wrong. That would be a long time to wait.

@soberchimera - Simple math. Two Batmans equals one Wolverine.

There’s a lot to be excited about. Superman Legacy and Lanterns are easily my most anticipated. Swamp Thing too, if they get Mangold. Booster Gold is such a great concept too.

@MrDandy - It seems to do it with long comments, but if you split them up into piecemeal, they'll post.

The trick is finding where to make the first cut.

I usually cut my comment in half and if it still doesn't post, I'll half it again and so on until it posts. Then I'll keep doing the same with the remainder. Sounds like a long process, but it's quicker than you might think.

Paradise Lost. It'll be the one to trigger the most people.
soberchimera
soberchimera - 2/3/2023, 2:33 PM
@Reeds2Much - Paradise Lost seems pointless and unnecessary...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Themyscira_(DC_Comics)
For centuries, the Amazons of Themyscira live in a perfect state of harmony with their surroundings, under a theocracy. They know no racism, although many consider Antiope's Lost Tribe of Amazons as little more than savages. They do not think in terms of male gender; the word "policeman" is alien to them until Diana's departure into the outside world. Homosexuality is completely natural to them

Surprised to see Brave and Bold so high. It is probably my least anticipated just because I don’t know how I feel about two theatrical Batmen at once. Also I’m just way more excited for what Reeve is doing.
