DEADPOOL 2: Breaking Down All The Deleted And Extended Scenes In The SUPER DUPER CUT - SPOILERS

Deadpool 2: The Super Duper Cut is now available to download on Digital HD and we've broken down all the additional scenes added to this version of the movie. The question is, are they worth checking out?

Deadpool 2 was embraced by fans earlier this year and in what appears to be a way to reward them, Fox is releasing a "Super Duper Cut" with an additional fifteen minutes of footage. This isn't a review of that version of the sequel but if you've ever seen an extended cut of a Judd Apatow comedy, you'll probably be aware of what to expect: an extra scene or two along with a lot of alternate jokes.

Regardless, what you'll find here is an in-depth breakdown of the most significant new scenes which have been added to the movie, some of which are new gags and others which change the story to at least some extent. For the most part, Deadpool 2 plays out the same way but there are definitely moments you'll want to check out, including additional after-credits scenes and more Juggernaut!

So, to take a look at these new scenes, all you guys have to do is click on the "View List" button below.

The Opening Montage

The sequel's stylish opening montage begins in the same way as the theatrical cut but there are quite a few changes made after the Merc with the Mouth tells us that he's gone "international." For the most part, these include different jokes, many of which are a little more R-Rated, including one which actually references arguably the Marvel Cinematic Universe's greatest superhero, Captain America.

That comes during the scene where Wade Wilson pops out of a casket and we get some additional footage of one of the gangsters managing to get away before being taken out with a headshot, something Deadpool points out you don't see Steve Rogers doing as he leaps over a headstone. Other moments remain mostly the same but are either slightly longer or just switched around/more violent.

More Dopinder

Dopinder was one of the best things about the first Deadpool movie and receives a much larger role in the sequel. However, this extended cut features even more of the taxi driver. After "rescuing" the anti-hero from Sergei Valishnikov's thugs, Dopinder drops Wade off and it's then we get a scene which sees him try to convince Dopinder to become an assassin and finally follow his dreams to be a contract killer.

Once he gets inside, there's also a lengthier exchange between the Merc and a very frustrated Vanessa.

More Opening Credits

Deadpool 2's opening credits poke fun at the James Bond franchise in a very meta way and while that remains the same length, some of the parody credits have been switched around or changed. I'm not sure what the point of that was as they were already well-done but it's fun to try and spot which ones! For example, "Written by The Real Villains" has now been replaced with "'Real Heroes', My Ass."

Extended Sister Margaret's Sequence

Following Vanessa's death, Wade is drowning his sorrows in Sister Margaret's and while this new version mostly plays out the same, there are some new jokes. My favourite is Dopinder asking about the difference between a mop and a gun to which Weasel responds: "I can shove both of them up your ass and still kill you." That's better than the theatrical cut so I wonder why it wasn't ultimately used?

Deadpool Kills Himself...Over And Over

We heard about this when the cast was doing the press rounds for Deadpool 2 but the Super Duper Cut finally gives us that suicide montage of Wade killing himself in a number of crazy ways. He's killed by a polar bear in the zoo and drinks bleach before jumping off a building and that's followed by a funny exchange between him and someone who can't believe he managed to survive this attempt.

Before Wade blows himself up, he also makes a Die Hard joke at the expense of Fox which is funny.

Meet Firefist

There were some hints in Deadpool 2 about Firefist's past but the Super Duper Cut adds a little more backstory as we get a flashback to Russell's arrival in the Essex House for Mutant Rehabilitation.

The whole thing is pretty creepy as the Headmaster tells him that there are no locks on the doors or bars on the window and that the children will stay because they know that being mutants means they're unfit to leave. He then promises to "fix that" before hugging him and whispering a prayer.

A Little More Cable And X-Mansion Antics

Some of this scene has already been released online but if you didn't catch it, it's definitely worth hunting down. Wade, now getting comfortable in the X-Mansion, starts going on a crusade about the food in the fridge not being properly labelled and that leads to some very funny exchanges between him and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (who calls him out for dressing like a "registered sex offender").

While Colossus buys into Deadpool's nice guy act, we quickly learn that it's all a front when he flips her off behind the X-Man's back. Meanwhile, there's also a new scene with Cable after he meets those rednecks as we see the time-traveller robbing a gun store for supplies in the middle of the night.

A Very Different Sort Of Classroom

Returning us to the Essex House for Mutant Rehabilitation, the sequel shows the Headmaster presiding over a very bizarre classroom experience as Firefist finds himself strapped into a chair before telling the villain to "suck my mutant d**k" and receiving an electric shock for his troubles. It's pretty brutal!

A Little More Juggernaut

There's not a significant amount of Juggernaut in the extended cut of Deadpool 2 but we do see more of Wade attempting to convince Colossus to fight him and Firefist attempting to find some plus sized clothes for his newfound friend earlier on in the movie. As for his final fate being revealed, the Super Duper Cut simply makes it clear that, no, Colossus didn't actually electrocute the villain to death!

More After-Credits Scenes

As we've known for a while, the scene between Deadpool and Wolverine is changed so that Wade tells Logan that hanging up his claws is going to upset a lot of people and that if the Merc with the Mouth one day comes asking for help, he should say yes! This is obviously a reference to X-Force but the chances of Hugh Jackman reprising the role are, as we already know, between slim and none.

Another Suicide Attempt

Despite being 15 minutes longer, the Super Duper Cut of Deadpool 2 still features two deleted scenes. The first is very brief and shows the Merc with the Mouth sitting on a park bench preparing to kill himself. However, he's then joined by an elderly couple who don't seem too bothered by a guy in a red superhero suit holding a gun to his head. Wade attempts to get them to leave, makes a joke at their expense about Pixar's Up, and then finds himself being dragged away by Colossus back to the X-Mansion.

More Baby Hitler

The controversial Baby Hitler scene is indeed in the Super Cut but there's a deleted scene featuring an even longer version of that. While the regular version ends with Wade reaching out to grab the baby, this one shows the Merc with the Mouth cradling the Nazi dictator in his hands before realising that he has a dirty diaper. This prompts the anti-hero to change him, admitting that he simply doesn't have what it takes to kill a child before promising that he'll introduce Hitler to his new friend Cable...

@Cayde6 - Most of the CBM characters we love are more than 50 years old. In 50 years time no one will remember Bieber or Baldwin. That's how relevant they are.

I prefer the super cut over the theatrical version. So of those new jokes were so damn funny. Also, Omega Red is confirmed in the universe. He was in the prison, and when I noticed that months ago it seemed like a coincidence. I guess not woo hoo!

Just watched it today and I was surprised I quite liked it, because I thought the first was nothing special. Many jokes and references were good, but the sexual innuendo and penis jokes got annoying fast.
