DEADPOOL: Ed Skrein On The Origins Of 'Ajax'; Whether He'll Wear A Costume Or Not

Former Game Of Thrones alum Ed Skrein will play Alax in Fox's upcoming Deadpool movie, and in a new interview he discusses his take on the Marvel character. Can we expect to see some of the more outlandish costumes/armor this villain has sported in the comics over the years?

Deadpool is definitely shaping up to be one of the most faithful comic book adaptations of all time, and Ed Skrein maintains this was always the intention going in. The former Game Of Thrones actor will play the movie's bad guy (well, this is Wade Wilson we're talking about so let's say "antagonist") Ajax, and says he thinks they have created "the first post-modern Hollywood superhero movie", and that he hopes studios take a similar approach with some of their "less marketable" characters.

But what of his character? Will this big screen take on Ajax be faithful to the Marvel Comics version? It definitely sounds like he will be - at least to his initial appearances. However, those hoping to see an OTT armored-up Ajax might be disappointed, as will anyone expecting the movie to go into the details of his origin story.

"No, we don't go too deep into Ajax's backstory. We mention it, it's very faithful to the first section of Ajax in the comics, the backstory that we see, the flashbacks in the comics, and so we're very faithful to that. There's a second half of Ajax in the comics, where he comes back five years later with this big crazy suit and stuff, and we didn't touch on that, so this is the early Ajax. We've stayed very faithful to that."

Sound good to you guys? There's more at the link below so be sure to check it out. Also starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, and Brianna Hildebrand, Deadpool is set to be released on February 12th, 2016.

Yeah they'll probably bring him back soon in a potential sequel. I wonder why they still won't have Colossus talking? I mean come on Colossus has been silent for 3 going on 4 films?! Why is this?

Funny enough, the attire Ajax is wearing while fighting Deadpool looks like a more tactical version of the armored look in the comics.

Don't worry, he will be in Deadpool 2 in the costume.

Along with Cable and the return of X-Men: Origins Wolverine sewed-up mouth Deadpool as the villain!

I want to see more villains that return bigger and badder,
Not "one and done" types, so I do hope he comes back with the new look.

If they make a Deadpool 2, they're probably gonna go with T-Ray as the villain.

Why was Wade funny and breaking the fourth wall even before becoming Deadpool? Somebody didn't do their homework. Also, swearing a lot? I'm thinking these people were influenced in Daniel Way's Deadpool, whom is one of the worst Deadpool writers.

I really hope there is a costume. Why would this film bother with everyone else's costume - taking it right from the comics and just ignore Ajax's? I really thought fox was turning over a new leaf with this film, maybe not.
