Deadpool Spinoff Dead?

The recent news doesn't look so hot for our very own 'Merc with a Mouth', and here is why.

Deadline is reporting that Fox is hot on the tails of Robert Rodriguez to direct the 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' spin off, better known as Deadpool. But with all the projects (Machete, and Spy Kids 4) Mr. Rodriguez has zero time to devote to the project. Robert went on to say: "They(Fox)are trying to make a certain small window that's going to be tough because of Spy Kids," Rodriguez states. "If they push it back, it would be a lot better for me."

And probably be better for everyone! If Fox pushes it back and Robert signs on as Producer, Director, Screen Writer, hell, the whole damn thing. We would then get a quality movie from Fox. Just think, a solid movie out of Fox sense the first X-Men movie. Wow, it seems like forever.

Check out some juicy Deadpool script specifics from Reynolds himself that Ror just posted HERE! I swear that guy is fearless!

Rumors are also floating around that Ryan Reynolds has dropped out of 'Deadpool' to follow up next years (What the WB is truly banking on as being a hit) Green Lantern's sequel. Yes ComicBookMovie fans, Warner Bros is so sure that next years Green Lantern film will be successful, that they have green lit a sequel. And Warner Brothers is probably dead on. As long as Hal doesn't suck big time, Green Lantern could be the starting piece of the Justice League of America master movie puzzle!

One more rumor to patrol was Screenrants report that Fox had offered the Deadpool Directors chair to Quentin Tarantino. Which would be a true Deadpool fans wet dream. Imagine what Quentin could do with the likes of Deadpool. The fans would get a Deadpool movie that is no holds barred, action packed (and well done), smart ass at the center, and on top of all that great stuff the Deadpool movie Quentin could turn in would be an overall good solid movie.

Unfortunately for Quentin fans, he does not like to tackle any properties on the big screen that isn't of his own creation. Which is a feather in a directors cap when he or she is able to do such things. But for the fans that want Quentin to direct Deadpool, this fact will leave a sour taste in their mouths.

Some fans want Quentin some fans don't. Either way, whoever sits in the directors chair be it Quentin Tarentino or Robert Rodriguez, us fans just want an honest take on our favorite dis figured mutant bad ass Deadpool. Let's just hope that in the end Fox and Laura Schuler Donner don't sit on their hands, fart, and let Deadpool die a slow death, never delivering the movie they said they would!
