Could Ryan Reynolds be any more awesome? A GoFundMe donation in his name has been pledged to Brewvies, a Utah cinema famous for being half pub half movie house. Whilst the venue does have a full license to serve alcohol, they were fined due to an old law which was assumingly enacted to stop people getting too rowdy in porn theatres (which I’m pretty sure haven’t existed since the internet right?).
The law, enforced by the Utah Department of Alcohol Beverage Control (DABC), states that no alcohol should be consumed at movies that feature full nudity or sex acts.
Fans of the Simpsons may be reminded of the law requiring ducks in Springfield to wear pants.
The Kickstarter page was set up to raise funds to mount a legal defence, and seek an injunction against the law, which has also seen Brewvies fined for serving beers during “The Hangover Part II” and “Magic Mike XXL”.
Reynolds has previously weighed into the controversy, sarcastically tweeting “Thank God, they’ve found a way to legislate fun”.
Fox13 in Salt Lake City have picked up the story, claiming to have obtained reports from undercover agents for the DABC who quite hilariously described the offending material from the film:
"The main character (male) in the film is shown numerous times engaging in acts or simulated acts of sexual intercourse with the female counterpart during a holiday themed sex-montage. An example of this is during 'International Women's Day' Vanessa looks to be sodomizing Wade in their bed"

What do you think? Has the world officially gone mad when secret government agents are sneaking into movie cinemas to catch them out for serving beer to free thinking adults who just want to weat their beaks whilst watching People Magazine's sexiest man alive get sodomised by that actress from Firefly?
