Disney and director Jon Favreau's "live-action" remake of The Lion King roars into theaters this weekend, and pop superstar Beyoncé has now shared the official music video for her latest single,"Spirit," which was shot at the Havasu Falls waterfall in the Grand Canyon and features some gorgeous visuals as well as some previously unseen footage from the film.

A lot of fans assumed that The Queen would write a new song for her character Nala to perform in the movie, but that wasn't to be, and "Spirit" actually plays over a key scene in the final act.

"Spirit" is the lead track from the movie's companion album The Lion King: The Gift, which is available to stream now.

Meh. Also, I saw leaked footage of the "Long live the king" scene and it was sort of laughable, I could not take this movie seriously. Mufasa falling this time around sounded like Peter Griffin screaming, somehow even when it's still James Earl Jones. Every clip I've seen has been super off-putting, something just doesn't feel right about this one.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - i think the common thing i've read is the animals emoting is there per this style of animation .... so things you saw in the original on how a character processed certain things is off .

Song is ok but the video is stunning. I'd be down for Beyonce as Storm in the MCU

Beyoncé's finest performance since 2002's Austin Powers: Goldmember. What a thespian!

Song is nifty, Beyonce is hot, today's Aquaman is incredibly infuriating, movie looks like a tech test much like Avatar was etc etc.

Saw the original again on Netflix and I forgot how deliciously entertaining Jeremy Irons was as Scar.

They botched this song on the OST for the new Lion King, but I heard Ejiafor was still pretty great; which is to be expected considering the caliber of actor he is - even with projects like this and Maleficent 2 (where he looks so darn silly) coming up for him.

Everyone and their inexplicable Beyonce hate is getting tiresome. Can someone tell me what she actually did to garner this distaste or is it the usual 'shes successful, i dont like her' thing that goes on a lot these days.
