The man who brought back The Muppets to great success is now said to be in early talks with Disney to helm a sequel to Alice in Wonderland, reports Variety. James Bobin is currently hard at work on The Muppets...Again!, so it's thought that this would be his next project as soon as shooting on that film concludes. Linda Woolverton (The Lion King, Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent) is writing the script of the follow-up to the 2010 movie which shocked many by grossing over $1 billion at the worldwide box office. The working title for the film is "Into the Looking Glass", so keep your eyes peeled for any casting calls over the coming months. There's currently no word on whether any of the cast members from the first movie will return or a release date.

I'm still surprised it made the big B. I really enjoyed the movie though. Not all that excited for a sequel though.

Tim Burton said he didn't want it to have a sequel? So they're making a sequel. Logic.

This movie made the money it did because it was a Tim Burton film, not because it was a great film. Leave it alone or call it a reboot at least.

This is one I got to see for free when I was working part time at a theater. We used to get early screenings of films on occasion. This was one of 'em. I didn't like it, but the teeny boppers that comprise the majority of the theater work force loved the crap out of it. So I can see why it was popular. I can't see why it made a billion dollars, but who can predict what movie will make that much money anymore?

Everybody just loves to bash Johnny Depp nowadays...The guys is a [frick]in' great character actor...As for this film...I didn't see it in theaters but as soon as it was on DVD I bought that shit!!..This is one recent movie where the CGI is actually properly used...When the Hatter was explaining what happened to him that scene was genius!!..For those saying...we don't need a sequel and what would a sequel even consist of...well it's called read a book...I can't wait to see Through the Looking Glass...I don't know how I feel about a new director though...might make it more kid-friendly...
