THE MUPPETS Director James Bobin In Talks To Helm ALICE IN WONDERLAND Sequel
Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland may have been met with a mixed reaction, but it still managed to gross over $1 billion. Unsurprisingly, Disney are now said to be moving ahead with a sequel.
The man who brought back The Muppets to great success is now said to be in early talks with Disney to helm a sequel to Alice in Wonderland, reports Variety. James Bobin is currently hard at work on The Muppets...Again!, so it's thought that this would be his next project as soon as shooting on that film concludes. Linda Woolverton (The Lion King, Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent) is writing the script of the follow-up to the 2010 movie which shocked many by grossing over $1 billion at the worldwide box office. The working title for the film is "Into the Looking Glass", so keep your eyes peeled for any casting calls over the coming months. There's currently no word on whether any of the cast members from the first movie will return or a release date.
