DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS LEGO Set Reveals New Look At America Chavez And "Gargantos"

A new LEGO set for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been revealed, and it teases an epic battle in New York, while also showcasing the movie's four leads thanks to some awesome promo art.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will likely set the stage for the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and there's a huge amount of intrigue surrounding Sam Raimi's sequel.

We've seen plenty of rumours and supposed leaks from the movie, of course, but no one really knows what to expect. One rumour has suggested the Scarlet Witch will unleash Shuma-Gorath on New York City, with that being the same creature we caught a glimpse of throughout What If...?

Well, it seems the monster is, in fact, Gargantos. In the comics, he's a sea monster at the command of Naga, a member of the Homo mermanus species who was born five hundred years ago in Lemuria, a submarine continent in the Pacific Ocean. This could connect the Doctor Strange sequel to Namor the Sub-Mariner, though we're guessing Gargantos will be reimagined as a generic Multiverse monster.

The packaging for this LEGO set also reveals new promo art from the movie. Doctor Strange and the Scarlet Witch look very much the same, but Wong has a cool new costume and we get our best look yet at Xochitl Gomez's America Chavez pulling off a comic accurate pose.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 6, 2022.

Isn't Naga also the one that has/had the Serpent Crown? Think it would be pretty cool if they tie the mythical side of the MCU to the Elder Gods like Chthon and Set and the like

@bkmeijer - Yup, could be getting some Sub-Mariner stuff in this it seems.

Looks like Shuma Gorath to me.

@marvel72 - Exactly. Not sure why they renamed him?

@Jackraow21 - https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Gargantos_(Earth-616)

I don't think that's suppose to be Shuma Gorath I think that is suppose to be Gargantos and we're getting some Sub-Mariner dip.

@FearTheLiving - I guess they could also be doing that thing in the MCU where they combine characters. Essentially making Naga and the Lemurians into Shuma-Gorath worshipers, not sure why'd they change the name to Gargantos though unless they just make it one of Shuma's nicknames, that or for some reason the name "Shuma-Gorath" has become "problematic" in some way. *Shrug*

Jackraow21 - 12/2/2021, 10:19 AM
@FearTheLiving - Interesting… but he looks more like Shuma Gorath with the eye in middle and whatnot than Gargantos, who basically looks like a giant octopus, with two eyes on top versus one big one in the middle of his body.

@Jackraow21 - I mean it could be like I said in my second comment or they could just be doing the whole "Black Ant" think they did a while back where this doesn't even happen in the movie.

@FearTheLiving - True.

Is this film still gonna meet its release date with all the reshoots happening?? If so, we have to be getting trailers as soon as No Way Home comes out. We’re only 6 months away and there’s been zero promotion for this.

@TheLobster - Marvel is releasing stuff more than ever so it seems like their promo windows are smaller from now on. Probably no trailer until March

@ShimmyShimmyYA - yeah, you’re probably right. That bums me out though because I would rather they release a trailer within an 8 month window than have leaks hit all over the internet lol

The movie when we can reasonably expect to see more variants from non-MCU movies.

The MCU is the only place in the world where I'm happy to see more variants appearing right now.

@Amuro - I’m so psyched for the non-MCU variants! Bring on Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Josh Brolin’s Cable.

CGI better be good

That’s clearly Shuma-Gorath so why change the name??

@OmegaBlack13 - “Too hard for the public to pronounce”

@OmegaBlack13 - Yeah. Gargantos just looks like a big, one eyed octopus. This is Shuma Gorath.

@LordMushu - So Thor's Hammer isn't. I'm not going to try and spell it off the top of my head as I will spell it wrong.

Hear the name in the movie, know how to pronounce it.

Came out months ago that Yenifer Molina was cast as Gargantos.

It's missing a javelin. And rats. Lots and lots of LEGO rats.

@BecauseICare - I don’t see how they can handle it as well as the suicide squad did in terms of going full blown weird giant space monster. Gunn outdid himself. Best cbm Kaiju, what others would you say there are? The devil on Ragnarok, the tentacle thing on gotg 2 at the beginning, Ego, celestials… Starro was the best.
BecauseICare
BecauseICare - 12/2/2021, 9:31 AM
@TheWalkingCuban - I agree. And James Gunn made us care about Starro with just that one "I was happy" line. That's just good script writing right there! I'm not a big fan of Kaiju so outside of Godzilla and (maybe) King Kong (he's not technically Kaiju) I really can't think of any others off the top of my head except for the ones you mentioned.
TheWalkingCuban
TheWalkingCuban - 12/2/2021, 9:44 AM
@BecauseICare - exactly that’s it And of course that universe is all about giant monsters so they have plenty, but what I would like to see is Ant-man fighting some giant

Isn’t that just Starro, more or less?
