Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness looks set to be every bit as grand in scale as something like Avengers: Endgame, and we're anticipating it having the same sort of transformative impact on the wider MCU. If nothing else, we're in store for some mind-bending cameos, though it won't be easy for Marvel Studios and director Sam Raimi to give all those characters their due.
Luckily, the Doctor Strange sequel will have a suitably mammoth runtime to make room for them.
According to Brazilian ticketing website Ingresso, In the Multiverse of Madness is set to clock in at 148 minutes. At 2 hours, 28 minutes, this ties it with Spider-Man: No Way Home as the MCU's fourth-longest movie behind Avengers: Infinity War, Eternals, and the three-hour Avengers: Endgame.
Movies appear to be getting increasingly longer, but, if accurate, this feels like an appropriate run-time to continue telling Stephen Strange's story. With Raimi at the helm, we're confident the likes of the Scarlet Witch, Wong, and America Chavez will also be done justice, though there's no denying that Marvel Studios has a lot of story to squeeze in here. We'll just have to wait and see how things pan out.
In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Marvel Cinematic Universe unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. We'll journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released in theaters on May 6.
