DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Synopsis Promises "Mind-Bending And Dangerous Alternate Realities"

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has received an updated synopsis from Marvel Studios, and it sounds like the former Sorcerer Supreme will be taken to a lot of crazy places in the sequel...

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness might be one of the most highly anticipated comic book movies of all time, largely due to the seemingly endless rumours promising countless cameos and crazy surprises. Now, we have an updated synopsis teasing what's to come this May.

We're clearly going to be travelling to different worlds in Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange sequel, and that alone opens the door to a lot of very exciting possibilities for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before," it reads. "Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary."

An updated cast list has also been released, naming just Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. Needless to say, we expect to see many more actors in the movie, but whether Marvel Studios decides to tease any cameos in the upcoming trailers remains to be seen. It would be smart for a Super Bowl TV spot to spoil at least one big surprise, as that would definitely get fans and regular moviegoers talking.

Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll, and Jamie Christopher all serve as executive producers alongside producer Kevin Feige, while Michael Waldron is the sole screenwriter.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 6.

I hope this one is a lot weirder than the first one and less jokey, but it's reasonable to believe they'll go the same route. And while I've liked Raimi's earlier movies, he hasn't made a good flick in many years imo, so we'll see.

@Feralwookiee - He's not directed a feature since Oz. The one before that, Drag me to Hell, was awesome.

@McMurdo - Yeah. That's what I'm worried about. Overall, I liked, but didn't love the first DS, but really didn't appreciate some of the forced "humor", but of course...Marvel.

@UniqNo - I think he's better off with a smaller budget. Just my take.

@Feralwookiee - I’m not to surprised it’s one of reasons I can never get into Superman comics he fights he never goes all out on villians that need good beat down.,

When he’s not fighting villians he’s doing other stuff I have no interest in what so ever such as politics crap I had plan buy future issues of Superman son comics but when I saw cover of latest issue Superman son in costumer with other people protesting yeah I know this series is not going be for me keep politics out of it protesting does crap all it does starts trouble and fights .,

I have some Superman comics doomsday series my favorite anything doomsday I buy but I found out accidently Superman: The Man of Steel #16 (October 1992), Superman #72 (October 1992) Those two issues Superman is powerless to stop his drunken abusive neighbor from hitting his wife , for got what other issue rebirth Clark takes family on vacation John is still young boy went Washington I think resturant would not let handicap war veteran lost his legs in resturant Clark invited him have meal with his family in fine with that.,

When comics involve politics I don’t care image dc marvel that crap turns me away I know all about politics they lie cheat steal never keep promise to win and get votes and slander there opponents to win bad example for kids witness who look up to them

I love this multiverse concept. It's interesting and has made for some unique storytelling. However, I hope the Living Tribunal or some other entity stitches us back to one reality so things don't get too convoluted. I mean, a single universe can be a lot as it is when you consider the vastness of space and all the ideas we can explore in just that.

@Tonic24k - wouldn't surprise me at all if we get some Endgame similar to the ending of SECRET WARS where reality is merged together based on parts of every universe

@Tonic24k - I agree. I really don't like watching superheroes fighting evil versions of themselves. Gets boring to me.

@DoubleD - and marvel needs introduce more villians hood ones that die after every movie and episode series

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the perfect time to introduce Maestro. Maestro depicted as an evil version of the Hulk from an alternate future. Maestro is a Variant like all the different Loki's.

@DoubleD - They could go with the World War Hulk storyline with Maestro instead.
DoubleD
DoubleD - 1/30/2022, 5:11 PM
@SonOfAGif - I hope not we need our Hulk solo movie, or it wouldn't be World War Hulk movie. Maestro don't need a solo movie just appearances.
SonOfAGif
SonOfAGif - 1/30/2022, 5:42 PM
@DoubleD - Universal Studios still holds the rights to "Hulk" and a solo movie starring the character. They do not own Maestro.
DoubleD
DoubleD - 1/30/2022, 5:57 PM
@SonOfAGif - Marvel Studios has got the Hulks right back. Universal Studios failed to make a sequel to the 2008 Incredible Hulk within 10 years now 14 years.

CBM also posted multiple stories about the World War Hulk movie.
SonOfAGif
SonOfAGif - 1/30/2022, 6:14 PM
@DoubleD - That is wrong information. Universal still maintains the right of refusal to any Hulk solo movie. He can only appear in ensemble films without the need for permission from Universal.

It really does feel like we're going to eventually get replacement Stark/Tchalla/etc from other universes played by another actor. They did this for awhile with Iron in the 90s comics and it made for interesting dynamics (for example, the Iron Man on the Avengers during ONSLAUGHT wasn't 616 Tony Stark)
LonelyRanger

Okay, let's see, Mission Impossible 7 was delayed due to Covid. The timing, I believe, lines up with the Doctor Strange reshoots. This would have been the perfect time for Tom Cruise to film his Tony Stark cameo!
Just a thought, as my timing could be way off...!

TheCoonII - 1/30/2022, 10:11 AM
@LonelyRanger - I don't buy that it was delayed due to covid omicron cases have already started to fall delaying mission impossible a whole year is completely unnecessary

"Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange"

I really read this as "journey into mystery". Missed opportunity

Anyway, it sounds not as much as madness as the title makes me think, but it sounds like it could be fun.

Am I the only one who isn't all that hype about a Tom Cruise as Iron Man cameo? I mean, it's okay if it turns out to be true. But on the other hand if it doesn't happen I won't leave the theater thinking, "Missed opportunity!"
