Last year, LEGO released a huge set based on The Daily Bugle from the comic books. This year, the plan is to reportedly follow that with a 2,708 piece take on the Sanctum Sanctorum, though it's believed it will be based on how the iconic building appears in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
We should point out that nothing is confirmed at this stage, but the $210 set - rumoured to be released in May or June - will include three Minifigure versions of Doctor Strange, Wanda Maximoff, and Baron Mordo. This lines up with the theory that it will be MCU-themed, but here's where things get particularly interesting...and potentially very spoiler-ific!
Brick Fanatics, a trusted source for LEGO news, reports that this Sanctum Sanctorum will also include Minifigures of Spider-Man and Iron Man.
Does this confirm that their Variants will appear in the Doctor Strange sequel? There have been rumours that Tom Cruise will suit-up as the Superior Iron Man, while it goes without saying we're all anticipating director Sam Raimi finding a way to reunite with his Peter Parker, Tobey Maguire.
However, there is a potentially logical explanation; Tony Stark visited the Sanctum in Avengers: Infinity War, while Spidey turned to Strange for help in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Both characters have a history there (and they sell LEGO sets), but we're still intrigued to see if the official reveals features some unexpected Variants who will appear in the blockbuster sequel.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives in theaters on May 6.
