For a while now, there have been rumblings that the
Doctor Strange sequel will be released as part of Marvel Studios' Phase 4 plans, and star Benedict Wong (Wong) may have just confirmed that.
During a recent appearance at the Denver Pop Culture Con over the weekend, the
Avengers: Endgame actor was asked if he could provide an update about the follow-up to the 2016 release and said, "
I know they've now got a writer on board who I met at the Endgame premiere," he said.
"So I think that may be happening some time next year."
That makes sense, and likely means that we'll see the movie in late 2021 or early 2022.
We don't know who the writer he's referring to is, but it's believed that Scott Derrickson will be making his return as director. The filmmaker has previously expressed a desire to use Nightmare as the lead villain, and relatively reliable sources claim that both Jericho Drumm and Clea will also make their big screen debuts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As you guys excited for
Doctor Strange 2?
