AJ Casts Live Action SPIDERMAN TAS
After my last cast was met with less than thunderous applause, i decided to give it another shot. This go round, i am basing my cast around my favorite Comic Book based TV Series Spiderman The Animated Series.
Logan Huffman as Peter Parker
Logan Huffman's name has been thrown around for the role of Spiderman a couple times and i think he'd be great. You may know him from the TV series V I feel that his character is alot like Peter
Tyler Evans (Logan's character on V) Personality analysis
17-year-old Tyler is a fairly typical high school senior: he’s scared about his future and he’s into girls.
Peter Parker Personality Analysis
Peter Parker is 17 years old and is interested in girls despite being nervous around them he is stressed and indescive.
Emma Stone as Mary Jane
Emma Stone has both the looks and the acting chops to potray the sensitive and fiery sides of Mary Jane. I know she is currently potraying Peter's rival love interest Gwen Stacy but that's even more reason! Think about it, familiarity with the Spiderman characters and fanbase. A priceless one up on every other potential Mary Jane candidate. Plus she has that attractive, sultry, bad girl factor that Mary Jane had on the animated series
Meryl Streep as Aunt May
This movie needs an A-list star and who better than Marl Streep. She has the look down pat, name reconigtion, and fantastic acting abilities.
While not exactly representative of her comic counterpart,she certainly possesses a look akin to TAS May I know that in the cartoon, May wasn't exactly lively and energetic but I'd prefer if Meryl put her own lively twist on May rather than potraying that the sickly old maid for which she was known.
Oleg Taktarov as The Rhino
Oleg is not a well known name but that is not why i cast him. His build and voice is why and he's perfect because he shares the same nationality as Rhino, Russian. I always envisioned Rhino a certain way and Taktarov bears the closest resemblance. When Jon Avnet needed a powerful actor to play Russian mob enforcer Yevgeny Mugalat, a character who survives six gunshots at close range hee chose Oleg Taktarov. Seeing him as Mugalat reminded me of Rhino because i always thought of him as more of an enforcer than main villan. Oleg's nickname is "The Russian Bear" well, after this film, it will be "The Russian Rhino"!
However, i'd only want Rhino to be in a quick few fight scenes have Spidey defeat him effortlessly in the first couple fights then Rhino seeks revenge, etc. etc...
AND THE MAIN VILLAN
MICHAEL MORBIUS!
Now, i just want to clarify, ZERO relation to Rhino. I'd like to see Morbius receive a more Younger treatment in a film. I would make him a peer of Peter's.Michael Morbius is a college student trying to develop a cure for his blood disease working with vampire bats. He ends up in a similar accident that happens to Doctor Connors. The character was originally in a cut scene from Blade so he missed a big screen opportunity and i would like him to get big screen treatment in a Spiderman film rather than a Blade film anyhow. Like in the TV Series, i'd like Morbius to steal Peter's formula and that be the cause of his transformation. However, for my own twist, i'd like him to become COMPLETELY OBSESSED with Peter and his formula and stalk him for answers so that when he becomes Morbius the first person who he targets as a source of blood because he is still insanely jealous of Peter's formula so he decides to attempt to end his emotional troubles by elimanating him. Consequencly, he discovers that Peter is Spiderman motivating him even more because Spiderman stopped him from drinking Deborah Whitman's blood. In the comics, Morbius is an unwilling self loathing Pseudo Vampire and in Vampire Diaries, PAUL WESLEY stars as Stefan Salvatore, a vampire struggling to live at peace in the new drama. Probably controversial, but if you're not familliar with Morbius than watch Spiderman TAS episodes (Season #2, episode 19 20 21 22 and 23) Please don't be angered by my choice it's intentional. I think that if your going to give Spiderman a film that should pander to the teen/pre teen demographic, make Morbius a teenager and a peer of Peter Parker. I don't want him to be a sparkle in the sun Twighlight Vampire, but a more teenaged charismatic charmer. Basically Vampire Diaries personified.
Natalie Hall as Liz Allen
I considered her for Gwen quite some time ago but that snobbish b*tchy look of hers would be perfect for Liz Allen. She's not known for her major motion picture roles but that's fine because she wouldn't be playing a significant role in this film the only qualities Liz Allen would need for this film would be her snobby attitude and resemblance to the character. Check and Check!
Chloe Sevinngy as Deborah Whitman
Honestly, I haven't seen her in any movie or TV series but I think she's got the look down.
