Now, while Jensen Ackles has been my top choice for Captain America for a long time, I've been thinking of other possible candidates for the part of the All-American super soldier.

His name is Teddy Sears. He's made his name on several TV shows, being a regular on Raising The Bar and One Life to Live, and cameos in many others, including Dollhouse. It also helps that he's a born and bred American, has the blonde-haired-blue-eyed look, is 6'3, and with the proper bit of bulk, would look every bit a super soldier.

Interesting choice...I've never seen him act so I cant judge him in that respect but Im not sure if (and I cant believe Im about to say this) he looks rugged enough! In the second picture especially, he has the look of someone born into a wealthy family rather than a soldier, lol! Stick with your first brilliant choice - Jensen Ackles! :)

Of couse, Jensen Ackles will always be my first choice, but keeping you options open never hurt anyone. Besides, I'd say Sears is a step up over Channing Tatum and that Trevor Donovan guy. Yeech. :P

As far as Sears' acting goes, I think he did a decent job on what Ive seen of him in "Raising the Bar." I have to see more of his stuff if I can to really get a good opinion on his acting.

He's excellent on Raising the Bar on
TNT! He can really act!

He definitely looks like Steve Rogers!

He looks like someone born into wealth
in these pictures because his character
on Raising the Bar was born into wealth
but instead of choosing a cush corporate
job like his father wants him to he
chooses to be a public defender and fight
for the underdog, the poor, the powerless!

In choosing a young actor to play Cap
we must remember that they can take almost
any actor that resembles the roll and turn
him into a ripped super-hero!

Just look at Christian Bale in "The Machinist"
and how he transformed for Batman through
bulking up! Or all the actors in "300".

So Sears can definitely play the
part and I would not be disappointed at all
if he was chosen to sling the shield!
At least people are now starting to realize what
type of actor is needed to play Steve Rogers!

Gambit: I love Tahmoh Penikett, but I really don't see him as Cap. Plus he's Canadian; no offense, but I think getting an American actor is imperitive for Cap; that's just what he is.

Hmm I really like this pic, I too have never seen him act but he certainly looks the part, he's an unknown which isn't bad, and he looks like Cap. Nice choice MistressKizuna ;)

Freddy Sears is pretty perfect for Cap and so
is Justin Hartley and Ryan McPartlin...
...and yes I dare say it, Jensen Ackles!
They all look like Steve Rogers and can all
act very well!

It wouldn't take much to get Teddy Sears into
bulked-up mode, here is a couple pics of him with
his shirt off!

Please, no gay jokes liked I've
heard from a couple of guys on here every time
I put a pic up with a shirtless actor to show
his musculature for playing a certain part!

I've watched every Raising the Bar episode and
Teddy has been excellent playing the rich-boy
robin hood-like public defender helping the less
fortunate!

He is a very good actor and not just an ex soap-
hunk!
