Benedict Cumberbatch Will Play 'Martian Manhunter' In JUSTICE LEAGUE: FOREVER EVIL
The British actor has played coy in the past about reprising the role of Clark Kent's A.I. father "Jor-El" in Marc Webb's Justice League sequel, but it seems that's because he was returning in a different role: fan-favorite martian the Martian Manhunter! Read on for more details.
So, it won't be Stephen Amell's Snapper Carr after all! According to the Daily Mail, Benedict Cumberbatch will indeed be returning for Justice League: Forever Evil..but not as Clark's Kent (Henry Cavill) trusty (A.I.) father Jor-El! The site report that it won't just be Cumbernatch's distinctive voice we hear this time around, as he'll actually appear on screen as Martian Manhunter.
"Cumberbatch and Miles Teller, who plays sharp shooting acrobatic Blue Beetle, were at Shepperton Studios just outside London this week, meeting with director Marc Webb. They did a series of costume, hair and make-up tests and worked with stuntmen and armourers."
They go on to say that "Make-up experts were using various powders and potions on Benedict's pale skin to bring about the Vision’s very light-green complexion." Now I'm sure any Justice League comic fan will know that the character is usually depicted with a pitch green skin tone..but it seems DC might be going for a lighter tone for the character. Incidentally, the working title for the DC Entertainment sequel is apparently "After Party", but the Mail is pretty sure that will change now that the info is out there.
