Of all the actors chosen in the fan poll, Jensen Ackles is one of the few to appear to be in his late 20's just like Captain America should be. The chosen actor must look close to that age. So this is a HUGE reason why most of these actors don't fit the profile.
He's also one of the few to have the "look" which consists of natural looking blonde hair, blue eyes (so they aren't big aspects but if the face doesn't lend itself naturally to them, it sucks) a strong jaw as well as other similar facial features. And the natural build which shouldn't require years of physical training to acquire (meaning not scrawny). And if they don't look like purebred Americans, it throws the look.
He has TRUE TALENT compared to a bunch of the actors in the poll and he is THE ONLY ONE (aside from Pitt who's too old now) to have a natural commanding presence, smooth fighting abilities (none of that Affleck stiff unreal shit), and have used his acting talent while displaying a type of leadership in a believable manner. Sam Worthington could kick Jensen's ass you say??? Yea-NO, sorry, Jensen kicks an ass at the drop of a dime on a WEEKLY BASIS on "Supernatural!!!" He's also better built than Sam. These semantics of course don't mean much but I was just voiding that idiotic argument.
Being a hard core "Supernatural" fan has also NOTHING to do with my choice. I am a hard core fan yet I fricking HATE Jared Padalecky. Just as much as I fricking HATE Josh Hartnett!!! And people who know me KNOW how much I fricking HATE Hartnett. So that argument is also null and void. Naturally, EVERY SINGLE Ackles fan WILL be a "Supernatural" fan cause it is his very best performance and he DOES deliver on a weekly basis. My argument isn't that the other choices suck, it's that they simply aren't as good as Ackles. I personally wouldn't mind IF another was cast as Cap, i just don't think he'd be the best choice. In the end, it all comes down to preferences but i don't get why some wouldn't AT THE VERY LEAST want an actor that fits all the requirements. If age wasn't an issue, Brad Pitt would be the best possible choice for it. He has proved it in Troy. But age is an issue and the fact is that no other actor besides Ackles has done a performance that resembles Cap as much as Jensen’s character: Dean Winchester in Supernatural (minus the sense of humor).
For some roles, an actor's nationality isn't much of a requirement. But if there ever was a role that would benefit from choosing a native born son, and on top of that, the very nation ALREADY had an actor that fills all possible requirements for the role... why the hell would you choose ANYONE else, in all logic and common sense, for the love of anything holy and all mighty?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Jensen Ackles is the next Stallone!!! That's right, just remember your heard it from me first ;P
Even if i had put preferences and personal taste aside, Jensen Ackles is by the role's requirements, THE PERFECT AND ONLY CHOICE for Captain America!!!
