Batman is arguably one of the most iconic superheroes of all time. You think superheroes, you think of Superman, Batman & Spider-Man. Now with a Superman reboot on the rise, and a Spidey reboot just last year one ponders when will Batman share the same fate, or will he? Now I’m no Batman fan, this may be evident in the following article, but I love superheroes and I love movies. Now like another CBM user, I never read comics growing up, in fact the first time I ever saw Batman was in an episode of Justice League, after that I started watching the Batman The Animated Series and Batman Beyond. So those shows may be evident throughout this entire article/plan. So hold onto your horses cause here we go.

Film One: THE BATMAN

Now, I’ve asked myself many times “will we see a Batman origin story in 2017 (year of planned Batman reboot)” and the simple answer to that is “no”. There is no need for a Batman origin story, we all know the story of Batman but we don’t know the story of Robin. Now I’m a fan of last year’s The Dark Knight Rises and I thought John Blake was really cool, but that being said I think in 2017 WB/DC should be looking to incorporate Robin in to their DC Universe. I’m a huge fan of Dick Grayson, he’s in fact one of my favourite comic book characters ever. I would LOVE a Batman reboot, where instead of focussing of Batman’s origin, why not focus on Robin? I always thought that Bruce & Dick’s relationship is something that is built for the big screen and would translate well from page to screen.

Synopsis:
Bruce Wayne, billionaire, playboy… The Batman. When on a date with the lovely Vicki Vale, Bruce experiences a horrible tragedy that is reminiscent of his childhood. Bruce watches as a young boy’s parents are shot leaving the poor boy alone. Bruce then adopts the child and brings him into the Wayne family. When the Dick Grayson finds out that Bruce Wayne is the Batman, he makes a promise with Bruce to not tell anyone only if he can fight too. On a quest for retribution over the death of his parents, the Dynamic Duo will stop at nothing to find the man responsible for the death of The Graysons.

Film Two: Under The Red Hood Part One

If you know me, you would know how much of a fan I am of the character, Red Hood. I love the character; he is just the perfect villain for The Batman. But he doesn’t appear in this one. In the sequel to The Batman, I would have the film set seven years after the first one, making Dick an adult and leaving the door open for a new Robin, I’ve always wondered how awkward the first confrontation between Dick and Jason Todd (the second Robin) would’ve been. But now every good story needs a good villain. The Joker?

The Joker is my second favourite Batman villain, only to Red Hood. So it only seems natural for him to be the villain of this film. This Joker would not be based on any comic book; this Joker would be based on Mark Hamill’s portrayal of The Joker in TV and Video Games. I love his portrayal of The Joker because he actually makes jokes at the worst of times. There is a scene in Batman Beyond: Return Of The Joker when The Joker captures Tim Drake and makes him crazy, there is a scene where The Joker shows Batman a video of how he did it. That scene is so iconic to me and so dramatic that I think it would translate so well to the big screen. Now of course Jason Todd would ‘die’ at the end of the film, and we would have the iconic shot of Batman holding Jason and then the credits would roll.

Scene From Batman Beyond: Return Of The Joker

While Batman is trying to save Jason, I would have Dick Grayson (who is now Nightwing) save Barbara Gordon and Commissioner Gordon. Joker hires a bunch of criminals to kill them at their house but Dick saves the day. Unlike the comics and cartoons, Barbara is not the same age as Dick; Barbara is only nine years old at this time. I have done this so that in the third film (more on that in a second) Dick can build a father/daughter relationship with Barbara unlike the comics.

Film Three: Under The Red Hood Part Two

This is the third and final film in my Batman trilogy. This film is set two years after the death of Jason, and Bruce is an emotional wreck. He has been more ruthless with criminals, and has been hunting down The Joker ever since. When a mysterious new criminal arises named The Red Hood, Batman goes one on one with him and loses, confused Batman works out that the Red Hood is no stranger. Meanwhile The Joker is creating a plan of his own. He plans to kill Jim Gordon in order to send a message to Batman. He attempts to kill Gordon, but fails. Gordon is sent to the Hospital, The Joker then kidnaps Gordon and puts him in a glass box. The box then begins to fill with Water. Joker calls Barbara and tells her to listen to her dad while he dies. Furious, Dick then goes to find The Joker but he is gone. A message remains “Don’t look under the hood”.

Dick takes the message to Bruce, turns out Bruce has found the same message. The two, piece to piece the puzzle and find out it is Jason. Bruce gives Dick a four-digit code; Dick says, “What’s this for?” Bruce replies, “I’m not gonna make it home.” We really see the emotion in the scene and we feel for the two characters and we see how this night will change Dick’s life. It turns out that Jason kidnapped The Joker; he leaves him in an abandoned apartment. Jason beats The Joker with a crowbar (as The Joker did years ago). Jason then demands Bruce meet him in Crime Alley, Bruce brings Dick and the three have a huge fistfight, Dick is knocked unconscious and Jason and Bruce end up in the abandoned apartment. Below is a video that basically shows the dialogue for the following scene. Instead of the bomb going off and Bruce making it out alive, the bomb would go off and Bruce would die with Jason and Joker.

There would be a huge 3-minute scene where we see the after maths of these events with a newspaper showing “Bruce Wayne was The Batman”. We then see Dick walking Barbara into Wayne Manor; she now lives with Dick as his ‘daughter’. Dick then goes to the Batcave and opens the computer, he types in the four-digit code. We hear the music begin to rev up, we see Dick’s eyes, and he smiles. The next shot, we see a man on the ledge of a building, the camera zooms in and it is Dick in a new Batman suit (Batman Beyond suit). Dick leaps off the building and flies towards the camera. Fade to black roll credits.

Now I understand if you don’t like what I’ve done, but as I said this is how I would make Batman. Now some of you are like “Keep this [frick]er away from Batman” or some of you might be like “I’d watch that”. So if you don’t like it. Comment below what you didn’t like about it. Don’t just say, “It sucks” tell me what sucks and maybe I can fix it. If you like what you see here then follow me on Twitter and give this article a thumb up! I’m Khan and I’m out for now.

This is really good stuff but I cannot support the Barbara age change. She should be around Dick's age IMO. It is your work and I respect that but it's kinda creepy lol.

Honestly, not a fan. First off Batman is my favorite superhero and I'm just not a fan of your plabs at all. I think the next Batman film if before Justice League, should be like Batman 89. I like your idea about your first Batman film. I've written another editorial about it and mine and yours ideas are similar. HOWEVER they did this in Batman Forever and did it fairly well.

Now with your sequel, I hate it. You can't really go from Dick just starting as Robin to him as Nightwing in the next film. Too big. Also its not wise to introduce Jason so soon. Personally Jason was more remember for being dead than anything he did as Robin because he didnt do anything as Robin.

Also Barbara as Dick's daughter in a way? No just God no.

And then Jason back in the third act? No just no to all

This is all pretty bad. I suggest you take 4 days off then just quit all together. Sorry man but I'm not a fan at all of this trilogy.

Kill Batman in the last one?

Ummmm.... no.

Not trying to be rude but you lost me on the last two. The first was good. I'd like one that introduced Dick. But I would introduce them one at a time. No way would I jump that time period either.

Sorry guys, but I think that if Batman is to get a reboot the movie should be made to make people believe Batman could be part of the Justice League since that movie would be the main goal for Batman to come back, so the neither the 89 tone or Nolan's version help. He need a villain that shows that even Batman being just a human being is not a reason to not defeat a SUPER villain, therefore someone like clayface, or killer crock, or bane (with venom) should be the villains to be used. Also Drake should be robín already and Dick nightwing. Bats relationship with Dick should be broken so the movie (s) could explore Dick evolving from being Robín to nightwing, and using Jason is a great idea, but Maybe just as one of Batman's mistakes.

I like it, but there need to be more movies inbetween yours. Your first could be the first. Then you should have one more movie with Dick at the end he goes away and becomes nightwing. Then your second should be the third. Exact same thing, but not called Under the Red Hood. Then your next film should be a film where Batman gets ruthless with criminals and Tim Drake is introduced, which in turn lightens Bruce up. Then your third should be the fifth. Exact same thing except instead of Dick wearing the Batman Beyond suit he where's a redesigned Bat-suit. Then you could go on to introduce Damian Wayne. Maybe instead of Terry McGinnis being mentored by Bruce he could be Mentored by Dick. And instead of Tim Drake being joker Damian could.

First off when I said for it to be like Batman 89, I meant for it to take place well into Batmans career like it did.

Second off the thing I dislike is how quickly this goes. I admit the first film is good but it happened already in Batman Forever in a way.

In the first film we see Dick FIRST becoming Robin.

Second film we see Dick as Nightwing with Jason as Robin and Jason dies.

Third film we see Dick as Nightwing and Jason back from the dead as Red Hood.

Its just that you progress way to quickly. You see?

Then you have Bruce die in the last film and Dick takeover. Reminds me of Robin John Blake and the TDKR.

We have no villains other than Tony and Joker.

The first film is fine but the last 2 aren't good at all.

Lastly Jollum don't know shit.

Bit your having years inbetween both films. I just don't like the lack of villains and the high focus on the sidekicks.

Also Terry IS Batman Beyond not Dick.

Yay, LEVITIKUZ is back to aggressively criticizing clearly opinionated stuff and suggesting more one-note close minded stuff!

"This is all pretty bad. I suggest you take 4 days off then just quit all together. Sorry man but I'm not a fan at all of this trilogy. "

Because [frick] constructive criticism, right? Geez, Levi... Change that attitude, please. You're coming across as a power-tripping mongrel. I do not understand why the people at CBM let this overbearing shtick of your's fly.

Wow well take it easy man. I'm just not a fan. I didn't come in expecting to hate on Khan's work but I'm not a fan of his direction after the first film.

Film 1: Dick become Robin for the first time

Film 2: Dick is now Nightwing and Jason is the new Robin.

I don't get why you would take a leap like this. You can't go from Dick's first night as Robin to him as Nightwing. I mean there's so many questions and it kind of ruins why Dick became Robin and what made him as Robin special to introduce Jason so soon after Dick.

I also dislike the lack of rogues. I understand Red Hood and Joker are his favorite but we have them in 2 films.

If I had to offer some advice it's this: redo your second and third film.

I also don't like the ending of the third film. Too much like TDKR expect Bats doesn't survive.

I'm a huge Batman fan and love the character but I'm not loving this. I can tell Khan put in work and I respect that in an editorial due to the shit articles usually here but I really think he can do bettter.

Right.. I apologize if I came on a bit too strong. I haven't been on the site in a long time and I don't think I will logging on soon. So, I guess I forgot that you're genuinely more forceful than most(which isn't necessarily a bad thing - it's just the way you roll). I hope im excused if I misconstrued whatever message you're trying to get across.

Nice write up! Really enjoyed reading it. Unfortunately, i think these would be horrible movies. Sidekick = camp. That's why both Burton and Nolan avoided it.

I do think that Dick Grayson would work in serious bat flick if done correctly. Especially if bats is going to be involved in JL.

I do agree that we are gonna need Robin(done properly) in the Batman reboot. I have my own idea for a Batman-movie, which would take inspiration from Burton-films, Alan Moore-comics and Arkham-games.

A tip Khan Batman's 4 digit code should be 1939. It's the year of Batman's first appearance. Just a little nod that doesn't have to be big but it will make fanboys notice and like it. Sly little Easter eggs like that are cool.

Also I do apologize. Yes I came off as a jerk, like I usually am on some articles. I'm mostly very strong opinionated on these editorials.

Now as I said, I like your first film. I had a similarly idea and plan:

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/LEVITIKUZsLOUNGE/news/?a=73064

I have a couple ideas how to tackle it but haven't really worked on it.

I just feel that your second and third films need improvement, that's all.

I am also not a fan of Joker killing Gordon with his daughter overhearing over the phone. That's not Joker. Have you read Arkham Asylum? In the beginning of the book, we learn Joker and inmates took over the Asylum. Batman and Gordon are on speaker with Joker. We hear what sounds like Joker killing a young girl. This leaves Batman in horror. When Batman gets to Arkham we see the girl Joker thought he killed unharmed. Batman is left confused and Joker screams APRIL FOOLS!!!! Did I mentions this took place on April 1st?

;P

It sounds something that Zsasz would do but not Joker.

I'm writing my take on the batman reboot too.
The first one is very similar in some points like robin's origins and having vicky vale.
The problem I saw in your trilogy was jumping from dick grayson from jason todd very quickly.
in the version I'm writing the entire trilogy is the process of dick grayson becoming nightwing.
I belive I'll be done tomorrow.
but i liked your idea exept about changing from dick to jason so fast and killig batman in the end.
i liked that you've changed barbara's age. it would've been diferent and cool.
