Because of the nature of the television show, which consists of thirty-minute episodes combined into seasons, I have decided that the movie should cover the first one OR two seasons. By combining the two, the film would briefly cover some of season's highlights in 'flashback sequences'. For example, Fry would be narrating while the viewer sees Bender holding Fry and Leela and flying out of Robot Hell (see episode, "Hell is Other Robots"). By doing it in this fashion with multiple instances of these during the beginning/middle of the movie, the movie could be paced well with highlights/cameos for the fans as well.
DJ Qualls as Philip J. Fry
I chose DJ Qualls because he could look strikingly like Fry with a costume and a hairdo, in my opinion. He has some acting chops in the comedy realm, and he can act stupid enough to be Fry. "Delta Farce" is a good example of a stupid DJ Qualls.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Turanga Leela
Okay...so you might be thinking,
"Agh, he just picked 'Ramona' because she had purple hair in Scott Pilgrim"
Well...you would be absolutely correct! You win +10 points. Anyway, her hair in that movie convinced me that she would look good with Leela's purple hair. Also, she can be stern yet unserious as a character. She could pull off Leela, and it would be hilarious too see her with one eye. In my opinion, I think that Leela's eye would be a combination of prosthetics, makeup, and CGI. If I was making the movie, that would be the case because I believe the old "Indiana Jones" way of doing things works the best. If the props and stunts are real, it looks real.
John DiMaggio as the voice of Bender Bending Rodriguez
Everybody knows and loves Bender, so why not have the original voice play the character? Bender would also be a combination of CGI and puppetry. Of course, more CGI would be used than puppetry or possibly a suit, just like in Iron Man.
Bill Murray as Professor Farnsworth
For me, Professor Farnsworth was a hard character to cast. I considered casting him as a CGI character also, but decided that an actor would be better. Bill Murray can do lots of character types, and the senile professor wouldn't be a longshot.
Ellen Wong as Amy Wong
Are you surprised? I hope not. Another Scott Pilgrim character? Get over it, it's a fancast. I believe Ellen Wong could play this character PERFECTLY, even though she may be a bit shorter and slightly more Asian than the character herself. She can be bouncy just like Amy, and act dumb-ish, like Amy. Imagine her in Amy's outfit, you might think she'd look hot.
Phil LaMarr as Hermes Conrad
Phil LaMarr is the voice of the character, and he looks like him too. That doesn't happen very often folks. However, he doesn't look as fat as Hermes so that we can chalk that up under 'creative license', and Hermes would be better if he looked AND sounded like himself.
James Franco as Captain Zapp Brannigan
I had a super hard time casting this character. I perused my movie collection, scouring for a look-alike, but found none. To tell the truth, I wouldn't mind seeing Brad Pitt in this role either, but I think James Franco could do the character more justice since he is more favored in the comedy community. In yesteryears, I would have casted William Shatner in this role. Plus--second comic-book movie. 'nuff said.
Eric Christian Olsen as Kif Kroker
I was very torn on this decision: actor, or CGI with original voice. I decided that an actor should play this part, contrary to the other random aliens that will most likely be CGI for the majority of the film. I decided this because seeing Eric Olsen dressed up like Lord Voldemort while kissing Ellen Wong in pink sweats would be funny. Also, Eric Olsen has proven himself in my eyes lately, as well as hearing that he will be in the new The Thing movie! Did I get that rumor right? I apologize if not.
Billy West (or other) as the voice of Dr. Zoidberg
I was trying really really hard not to cast Billy West in this movie at all, but for Doctor Zoidberg...well, I honestly didn't know what to do. Any actor could play Zoidberg, as his voice isn't that unique or hard to recreate and he would be fully CGI. I'm really not sure about this one; Zoidberg could be an unknown in a suit, adhering to my CGI+Real plan, or a voiced CGI character. I'm calling it a draw with Doctor Zoidberg.
I am currently working on a screenplay/outline for this movie. I am reviewing the first and second season, and looking for story points and an end point. I will most likely post it in the Fanfic section, or maybe as a Fancast update when I complete it. So...the project is greenlit, in pre-production. :-)
Some music I want to see on the soundtrack:

Man on the Moon by R.E.M.
If You Only Knew by Shinedown
Your Eyes Open by Keane
And of course...The Futurama Theme
