Marvel One-Shots that could connect the MCU, MarvelABC, and MarvelNetflix

Although the minds behind the MCU have repeatedly stated that connecting its movies to the world of MarvelABC and MarvelNetflix is too complicated to pull off, I would like to "spaghetti test" a few Marvel One-Shot premises that I feel would help tackle the problem.

While the Marvel movie franchises have become more and more interconnected, the characters and teams of MarvelABC and Marvel Netflix have been relatively sectioned off from making their presence known to those heroes who are "sitting at the big table". This disconnect has, in my opinion, lessened the impact of many of the events happening on the TV shows (particularly on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) and left some fans wondering how committed Marvel is to idea of linking all of is properties (an idea which...now that I think about it...may have never been expressed by anyone in the MCU). Admittedly, each show has made references to events like The Chitauri Invasion and The Battle of Sokovia in the past. However, the characters of the MCU seem to be totally ignorant of things like Inhumans, Grand Ward & Gideon Malick's most recent moves with HYDRA, The ATCU, Daredevil, Frank Castle, The Hand, and...strangest of all...the fact that a form of S.H.I.E.L.D is still up and running. With that in mind, I would like to throw a few one-shot ideas at the wall and see what sticks (aka "Spaghetti Test"* them).

*Apparently this phrase isn't nearly as well known as I thought it was, and UrbanDictionary.com has an ENTIRELY different interpretation

MARVEL ONE-SHOT: THE BRIDGE

Sec of State Ross has been approached by many of his colleagues in the military to help out with the fallout from Frank Castle's killing spree and Col. Ray Schoonover's recently uncovered dealings as The Blacksmith. As a result he asks Cmdr. Maria Hill and Brigadier General Glen Talbot to help local authorities with the situation. They assign Special Investigator G.W. Bridge to assist with and report on the NYPD's manhunt for Frank Castle and he is partnered with Detective Greer Grant Nelson (a revered interrogator) as they interview Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, Karen Page, Wilson Fisk, and prison staff.

MARVEL ONE-SHOT: RED WHITE BLUE

While investigating the actions of double agent Jasper Sitwell, CIA agent Sharon Carter comes across a suspect file containing memos from (then) Senate Armed Forces Commitee member Sen. Sterns, a Dr Kozlov, a company called IGH, and old data from the program that created Captain America. Her investigation into it could bring her to a recorded interview of Trish Walker talking about Will Simpson's rampage and her own "amped up" abilities after taking one of his pills.

MARVEL ONE-SHOT: SMALL WORLD

At the site of the Pym Technologies implosion, Dr Leo Fitz could be introduced to Dr Cho and Dr Selvig as they all look into the disaster and Darren Cross' pseudo Pym Particles.  Secondarily Agent May could question Hope Van Dyne about HYDRA's involvement, finding out that the HYDRA rep (double agent Mitchell Carson) got away with a Yellowjacket suit and some particles.  Fitz, May, Cho, and Van Dyne can each be using  small, hidden tech to collect and relay info back to  Bobbie Morse (in the lab) Daisy Johnson (in the command center), Vision (at the Avengers compound/voice only) and Scott Lang (at Pym's home) respectively.

MARVEL ONE-SHOT: VALOR

On a long drive to add Andrew Garner's name to one of  S.H.I.E.L.D's last remaining "Wall of Valor" memorials, Melinda May stops in a diner/coffee shop in Virginia and has an off the cuff conversation with a low profile Frank Castle (who is doing recon on Dogs of Hell (NY) president Jimmy The Bear). Each begins to share their views on service to a cause and sacrifice. The convo progress and ends with both recognizing that each is more than they appear and each going their separate ways.

At this point I don't even look at Agent of SHIELD and the Netflix shoes as a part of the MCU. They're just shows trying to cash grab off of the marvel name.

Only differences is the Netflix shows are good, and Agents of SHIELD has two seasons at MOST left in them.

I forgot half these characters you used even existed.

Props to you for trying to connect these things. Must've taken a lot of work considering how disconnected they are.

@kong - LOL..no doubt. And that the thing. There are so many random "B-List" Marvel comic book characters that could easily be used for connections. There are areas, albeit small areas, where the MCU is relative caught up with the TV properties. And there has to be a TON of not so well known actors and directors who could make these one-shots happen in a relatively short amount of time. No big budgets (though I can't believe the studio is really strapped for cash at this point), no long term contracts, and no real changes to big stories happening in either division. At its core, it would really be just something for fans.

I really like the last one. Both have had a tragic history. Both are a one person army. However they are different in how they operate. Castle takes the law into his own hands and doesn't let anyone tell him what to do. While May abides by it and will follow Coulson's orders to the letter.

@Salamalamalama - Yes. And really, it seem like something a writer and an actor would jump at. Someone dealing with a loss that is still raw interacting with someone who let loss turn them into something insanely driven and cold. For most, it would cause us to immediately draw back. But we've already seen that May doesn't really handle this sort of thing as well as she could. I'm no writer so I can't really set it up. But, done right, I think it could lead to a great moment.

They should bring one-shots back. I read somewhere that the russos said that they could be a yt series

I like your ideas, but I think we could fine tune some of them to make the One-Shots relevant to whats about to go down in the MCU-Netflix-ABCMarvel.

I really think Marvel Studios should use your idea as far as using the one shot to intertwine Movies, Netflix and TV shows.

I'd like to see one with Nick fury having a secret meeting with Coulson, May and Mariah Hill... They can be discussing whats going on in Hells Kitchen and weather they should do something about the DareDevil, Frank Castle and Jessica Jones.

I'd kind of like to see the phase 3 One Shots be centralized around Nick Fury and each one shot involves a character from each medium.

@slickrickdesigns - Can't argue with that. Fury seems like the smartest way to do it being in-the-know about so many things.

These are really good, but Gary Shandling (a.k.a. Senator Stern) is dead, so who would you like to see in the role, with possible future appearance in MCU movies.

@LivingWeapon - @LivingWeapon - I thought about that. I figured that if they did need to revisit his character, maybe HYDRA has him killed before he can give up anything substantial on them. A senator has to know a lot more about the inner workings than your average gun toting henchman. So maybe he is killed before she can get to deep which means she ends up crossing paths with someone like Red Room agent Yelena Belova (Dianna Agron)

@mtwiggs - I like that idea. And holy shit, Dianne looks so much like her.

Neat ideas. Some characters we've seen before, so who would you cast for the newer ones introduced?
MRVN
MRVN - 5/29/2016, 1:30 AM
@FlixMentallo21 -

Minka Kelly as Det. 3rd Grade Greer Grant Nelson (aka Tigra)

-A decorated investigator with the NYPD Crime Scene Unit
-Came into contact with the Cat's Head Talisman while processing a crime scene where an antiquities dealer was killed by Father Ramon Joquez during his pursuit of three pages from the Dark Arts book The Darkhold.

-Unlike in the traditional Marvel description, the Cat's Head Talisman is a magical item associated with the African goddess Bast, and grants its chosen avatar with a tiger-like appearance and abilities, enhanced physical strength and speed, heightened senses, and a moderately accelerated healing factor.

-At this point in her career Nelson is only starting to notice some of the changes of possessing the Talisman and is mostly resistant and unsure about what exactly is happening to her.

Ricco Ross as Special Investigator G.W. Bridge

-A decorated investigator with the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigation and a former independent S.H.I.E.L.D instructor/commanding officer.

-Has extensive training and experience in law enforcement, threat detection, criminal investigations, combat tracking, and counterintelligence within the U.S. and abroad.

-Prior to this new assignment, he had worked independently with Nick Fury to investigate former directors and researchers of the disbanded think-tank and terrorist organization Advanced Ideas Mechanics.
