So recently I heard that the television show "Misfits" might be produced in the U.S.A.

First of all if you're not aware of what the show is stop reading and catch up on it...google it...do whatever you need to do to watch it then pick up where you left off and if you are all cought up then you probably heard about this as well and to be hounest its not a good idea if they plan on watering down the Misfits that we've come to know and love so here are a few suggestions...

1.If you're gonna use the same powers for the love of continuity DO NOT CHANGE THE NAMES it gets confusing for people who are aware of the e4 version or for those who watch the americanized version then watch th e4 version it just gets annoying....perfect example "Being Human" great show but I stil have the hardest time trying to figure out whose who now i know some of you all are thinking "well just watch one version" I mean I could but I know I'm not the only one who watches both versions of t.v shows to compare the differences

2. Give Misfits the "Marvel" treatment...no I don't mean have like 45 different universes where people die and come back to life 77 times no when you die on MIsfits you STAY dead. What I mean is extend the universe hhave a new group of teenage screw ups a completely different group of people and maybe find a way to tie them in like make subtle references but not to much it'll get old after a while and by going this route you don't have to worry about the "OH e4 is on season 3 and you guys are on season 1 how can they talk about each other" we'll its not the same group of peopleso the americanized version could be more of a branch off i mean its possible if you saw how they wrote off nathan whom will be missed but i say the new guy is pretty cool too but I digress...

3. Please please PLEASE keep it away from the channels ABC and NBCthose are like where shows go to die (The Cape...No Ordinary Family...Knight Rider...Charlies Angels) I mean they weren't the BEST of shows but im sure if given the proper treatment they could have been better and keep it away from MTV I want the Misfits to be fowl mouthed 18-21 year old screw ups....not 16 and pregnant whiney emo "I wanna be MADE into a superhero" little bitches that have pop music smashed in at the end of every scene. Put it on a movie channel in my opinion I think it would fit in quite nicely on cinemax rigt after they stop showing movies and start showing the "Late night" stuff it would be a nice segway to get your self prepared......i mean if you watch that stuff and this way we can have all the sex...violence...drugs...and profanity we have come to know and love.

So like i said these where just a few suggestions on how we can americanize the Misfits with out crossing lines.....pissing too many people off(lets faace it people will still be pissed off)or trying to write off Nathan's character if you have any suggestions your self or just wanna complain sound off in the usual space below.

why would you want to "americanize" it the show did well because of the British sense of humour.

and being British my self trying to make it American is crossing the line its English show just leave it that way .

the last British show the Americans tried to "americanize" was shameless and it was awful

@Roscoe

There have been talks of the Americans making their own version, it was moviemaker's idea.

unfortunately, the format in which many British shows are made is unsuitable for airing in the US, the fact our series' are shorter than a US season and the fact the episodes are longer make it difficult for US stations to find room in their schedules for the shows, and causes a high risk/low returns scenario, it makes much more financial sense to remake a series with US length episodes and a US length season, with American characters and setting for American sensibilities, even though it obviously costs more to buy the rights and make a whole new show, the potential for return is so much greater.

if anything I like the second idea in this article, having completely different characters in similar situation, it allows room for both series to co-exist, and compliment each other,

@Roscoe182 i agree i feel that its lazy for them to bring tv shows over here because they don't have any original ideas so the...for a lack of a better term....butcher these once before good shows and all we get is the mutilated cousin of a once entertaining show so to keep that from happening I was simply offering a few ideas on how to keep the butchering to a minimum

@batzack um...like the things you put on baked patatoes? if thats not it then no i don't think so lol

@Mrmoviemaker09

please dont see my comment as an attack on your ideas its not at all. i see what you have done to keep the butchery down .

but we both know that good ideas and Hollywood can not be in the same room together.

again dnt take my comment as an attack on your article its really not if it were the UK stealing/borrowing an American idea id be saying the same thing.

The Office, Wilfred, Celebrity Fit Club, Trading Spaces, Junkyard Wars, Life on Mars, American Idol, All in the Family, and even freaking Sanford and Son are all U.S. remakes of popular shows.

Most of these became even more successful than their original counterpart.
Till Death Us Do Part was remade as All in the Family. The U.S. version's spinoff Maude was remade in the UK as Nobody's Perfect, and the Maude spinoff Good Times was remade as The Fosters. None of the UK versions were connected though.
