The quality of you're drawings of comic book characters never seem to match up withthe drawings you do of personal characters. I dont think it's fair that you're allowed to sign that picture of Wolverine you posted in your comment as your own.

The shading, muscle masses and facial expressions are impressive; however some of the character's body parts are off in the picture. But I have to say, I am amazed the most by the shading.

@BigK - the shading most likely isnt his. If you look at the pictures he's done of his own there is no shading let alone any indication of a significant musculature. Just the contour. He most likely just looks at other artists pictures and copies what he sees.

This is amazing work, especially for a 12 year old! Pretty sure I saw your Deadpool and Wolverine pics before, they were really good too!
Gotta say, I think the Uncanny X-Mas pic is pretty funny too!

The X-mas pic is very creative and humorous!

Just keep on drawing and practicing, practice
makes perfect!

The best thing is get a formal education in
art later in your life and you will go places!

Keep up the good work! :)

MikeKus34 there is nothing wrong with copying from professionals, I did it when I first started to draw. It's actually a learning technique that artists use even when they are professionals, still emulate or copy master works to try and grasp how to do certain effects.

Looks good Armageddon26, keep it up! You can only get better, and may I recommend "How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way" trust me, it's worth every penny.

Thanks many, caster, bigK,ACira,DDD,Stumblin for the support and compliments.

And Stumblin@,I have been working towards getting into a local art school called CCS,a couple of people working at Marvel told me to check it out(one specific was Marc Sumerak) and I recently bought How To Draw Comics The Marvel Way and have been practicing designs in my sketch book.

When I was younger, I would use pictures from other artists, or professional celebrity pictures, as a learning tool. It's a great way to learn how shadows fall on a face, which is the key to making a drawing look like a specific person or character. If you shade just slightly in the wrong place, the entire face can be thrown off. Using reference images is a great way. But, like "logicoflame" stated, nothing can beat a hands-on approach. It might sound silly, and make you look goofy, but posing in-front of a mirror, or taking a photo of yourself, is one of the best ways to learn the flow of shadows and the body, itself. You're drawings look far-and-away better than mine did at your age, so just keep practicing.

Also, I'm not sure how your technique works, but I would like to suggest one thing. I've found that, when you begin a drawing of a person, it is best to begin with the nose. Start at the tip of the nose, and work your way around the face. The reason is that the nose is the center of the face. If you start with the eyes, there is a greater chance that the face will feel off-center. And, another thing, try to eliminate hard lines. The face is made-up of shadows, essentially. So use very light lines to shape the face, then use blending stumps to even, and spread, it out to the appropriate points. If you don't have blending stumps (I didn't until much later in my life), I find that Q-Tips and toliet paper (rolled to a point) are great substitutions. Sometimes your fingers could do the trick, but you risk leaving your prints all over the drawing, which takes away from it...

@Stumblin - I agree, and I dont have any objection to drawing other artists drawings. I did the same thing starting out too. My only objection was to the credit that was given for his shading, which isnt in fact his. That's all I was saying. Sorry if that came off as rude, it's just I've delt with plagarism and it's frustrating, I realise he isnt trying to sell these or anything of the sort, it's just this specific topic that I'm adament about.

I gotcha MikeKus! I'm right there with ya on plagiarism, nothing annoys me more than that, I never let a plagiarizing artist slide!
