Director: Directors are responsible for overseeing creative aspects of a film under the overall control of the film producer. They often develop the vision for a film and carry out the vision, deciding how the film should look, in other words they make their vision come to life. They are responsible for turning the script into a sequence of shots. They also direct what tone it should have and what an audience should gain from the cinematic experience. Film directors are responsible for deciding camera angles, lens effects and lighting with the help of the cinematographer and set design with the production designer. They will often take part in hiring the cast and key crew members. They coordinate the actors' moves, or blocking and also may be involved in the writing, financing and editing of a film.
Joe Dante (Notable Works: Hollywood Boulavard, The Howling, Gremlins): Without a doubt best know for his two earlier films The Howling and Gremlins, the later being a timeless child hood classic. There were many directors who could have filled this slot, and personally it was hard to narrow it down, but as a fan of Gremlins and how magnificent it is as a child's horror movie and how well he captures a character's humor he's without a doubt the most interesting and probably the best fit choice for the job of Director.
Screenwriters: Screenwriters are responsible for researching the story, developing the narrative, writing the screenplay, and delivering it, in the required format, to Development Executives. Screenwriters therefore have great influence over the creative direction and emotional impact of the screenplay and, arguably, of the finished film. They either pitch original ideas to Producers in the hope that they will be optioned or sold, or screenwriters are commissioned by a producer to create a screenplay from a concept, true story, existing screen work or literary work, such as a novel, poem, play, comic book or short story.
Melissa Mathison (E.T., The Escape Artist, Twilight Zone: The Movie) & Bob Gale (1941, Used Cars, Back To The Future): This was one of the hardest choices to make. Instead of going with in particular writer i chose two who had experience in crafting the dominant films of the 80's childhood. First is Melissa Mathison, who crafted E.T. A genius childhood classic, that is well remembered, on top of that she has dabbled in horror having the talent to add excitement as she wrote a segment of the Twilight Zone Movie. Matching her up with Bob Gale who conceived and co-wrote Back to the Future with Bob Zemeckis. The two are a intriguing force as a screenwriter duo that would definitely write the scripts to make great Spider-Man Films.
Score By: A film score (also sometimes called background music or incidental music) is original music written specifically to accompany a film. The score forms part of the film's soundtrack, which also usually includes dialogue and sound effects, and comprises a number of orchestral, instrumental or choral pieces called cues which are timed to begin and end at specific points during the film in order to enhance the dramatic narrative and the emotional impact of the scene in question. Scores are written by one or more composers, under the guidance of the film's director and/or producer, and are then usually performed by an ensemble of musicians – most often comprising an orchestra or band, instrumental soloists, and choir or vocalists – and recorded by a sound engineer.
Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Carbo Blanco, Legend): He is a legendary Composer who has worked with Dante before on Gremlins, best known for his work on Star Trek and originally hired for the Superman score. He's an amazing composer, a legend in the field. People know his work, he knows how to get a score to hit every cue of the characteristics and people in the film he can adapt the tones of the film and characters and create a perfect score for the movie.
Uncle Ben Parker [Height: 5'9", Age: 60's]: Ben Parker was born in Brooklyn, New York. He trained to be a military police officer. He spent time as a singer in a band. He had known his future wife May Reilly since their high school days, but she in turn was naively interested in a boy who was involved in criminal activities. When he came to her one night and proposed to her on the spot, Ben was there to expose him as a murderer, and to comfort the heart-broken May when the boy was arrested. Their relationship evolved into love, and they enjoyed a happily married life. When Ben's younger brother Richard Parker and his wife Mary were killed in a plane crash, Ben and May took in their orphaned son Peter and raised him as their own.
Leslie Nielsen (Height: 6' 0½", Age: 56 {As of 1982} Notable Works: Ransom!, Airplane, Foxfire Light): Leslie Nielsen was a remarkable actor, He's best known for his branch of comedic work. Few people know he actually got his start doing dramatic movies like the Original Ransom! And Forbidden Planet. I have no doubt that he would have the talent {I mean come on! he went on to parody the character of Ben in SuperHero Movie} Nielsen is a very inspirational figure, and when it comes to casting older characters i love to cast the actors who would genially be as inspirational to the actors as the character is.
Aunt May Parker [Height: 5'5", Age: 60's]: After the death of her brother-in-law and his wife, May and Ben took in their only son, Peter, and raised him at their home in the Forest Hills section of Queens. Ben immediately took to the role of the boy's father, but May was at first reluctant. She still remembered her parents blaming her own birth for the destruction of their marriage, and she was afraid that Peter might signal the end of her own marriage. In time, she warmed up to Peter, who unexpectedly strengthened the couple's marriage. After Ben's death, life became a struggle with money problems though Peter did his best to help.
Betty White (Height: 5' 4", Age: 60 {As of 1982} Notable Works: Mary Tyler Moore Shot {T.V. Series}, The Betty White Show {T.V. Series}, With This Ring): We all know and love Betty White. She is probably the living embodiment of what we expect out of an Aunt or Grandmother. If there really was anyone else ever cut out to play Aunt May I don't know who it is. In all Honesty i think Betty was Born to play Aunt May. The combination of Betty as May is just simply perfect.
Peter Parker/Spider-Man [Height: 5'10", Age: Teens]: Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider in high school, and the spider bite caused him to develop abilities powers similar to that of a spider. He was soon able to crawl up walls and sense imminent danger, and eventually even developed his own method of creating webs to swing from. Upon the death of his Uncle Ben, Peter decided that 'With Great Power comes Great Responsibility, and thus became Spider-Man.
Zach Galligan (Height: 5' 10", Age: 18 {As of 1982} Notable Works: ABC After School Specials {T.V. Series}, Jacobo Timerman: Prisoner Without a Name, Cell Without a Number, Gremlins): This is a vastly original choice. I was tired of seeing Matthew Brodderick, Eric Stoltz, or Michael J. Fox as Peter. Galligan is simply pitch perfect. He looks exactly like the Romita Peter Parker, he's got a perfect physique for Spider-Man, not too bulky but not too thin either. Acting wise he's perfect, his performance in Gremlins really showed that he has the talent to play a character like Peter and to really have the humor and valor to play Spider-Man without making the character a jerk, but a lovable smart mouth super hero.
Gwen Stacy [Height: 5'7", Age: Teens]: Peter Parker met Gwen while they were undergraduates at Empire State University. Initially, Peter's problems as Spider-Man made him ignore her advances, and in return, she felt insulted by his aloofness. Gradually, however, a romance developed. Gwen, a science major, seemed to appreciate Peter's intellectual personality, different from that of jocks like Flash Thompson and preppies like Harry Osborn. She was Peter Parker's first true love.
Helen Slater (Height: 5' 8", Age: 17 {As of 1982} Notable Works: ABC After School Specials {T.V. Series}, Supergirl,The Legend of Billie Jean): Oddly enough like Galligan she got her start acting in the ABC After school specials. Helen has come to be known as a part of major geek culture. Best known as Supergirl, I think as a young Woman she was the right fit for Gwen, she's a sweet lady who can really play that type of character in her sleep. At the time this series would have started she was the right age, and the right person. She knows how to act, she's pretty and she's a creative choice to play the role.
Captain George Stacy [Height: 6'1", Age: 50's-70's]: Captain George Stacy was once a prominent member of the New York Police Department, who had retired and lived in Queens with his teenage daughter Gwendolyn Stacy. Even in retirement, Captain Stacy kept in contact with the department as he had taken an interest in the activities of the crime fighter Spider-Man. Captain Stacy - unlike the rest of the police department and the city - was a strong supporter of Spider-Man.
Richard Crenna (Height: 6'1", Age: 56 {As of 1982} Notable Works: Wait Until Dark, The Man Called Noon, First Blood): This was a very difficult choice, but when I remembered Richard Crenna the role was cast. He was a fantastic actor, a true legend of acting. We all know that he's best known for the role of Colonel Sam Trautmen, something I'm sure he enjoyed, but this would have offered him a better role to be in.
Mary Jane Watson [Height: 5'8", Age: Teens]: After her mother Madeline left Philip, the Watson women stayed with various relatives. One such relative that MJ was particularly fond of was her Aunt Anna, living in Queens, New York. On the night of Ben Parker's murder, MJ spotted a frantic Peter running into his house with Spider-Man emerging from an upstairs windows only moments later. On this she deduced that Peter Parker and Spider-Man were one and the same. Confused by the emotions set off by the discovery, she chose to keep this information to herself.
Mia Sara (Height: 5' 4", Age: 20 {As of 1987} Notable Works: Legend, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Queenie): Mia is a wonderful performer. We all know her from Legend, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. She's a beautiful actress who's really dominated her roles. When casting MJ you need someone captivatingly beautiful which is a perfect way to describe Mia. Her looks matched with her Talent, she's perfect to have played Mary Jane.
J. Jonah Jameson [Height: 5'11", Age: 40's-50's]: Jameson is usually the publisher or editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle, a fictional New York newspaper and now serves as the mayor of New York City. Recognizable by his mustache, flattop haircut, and ever-present cigar, he carries out a smear campaign against Spider-Man that has, at least temporarily, turned much of the gullible city against the hero. He employs photojournalist Peter Parker, who, unbeknownst to Jameson, is Spider-Man's alter ego.
Paul Gleason (Height: 6' 0½", Age: 43 {As of 1982} Notable Works: Arthur, The Breakfast Club, Die Hard): He's Perfect. He's always played the type of role, he was the quintessential dick of the 80's. If there was anyone perfect to play J. Jonah Jameson it was Paul, he's got the attitude, the style, the feel, and the perfect voice for the character.
Joseph “Robbie” Robertson [Height: 6'1", Age: 40's]: Robertson was one of the first African-American characters in comics to play a serious supporting role, rather than act as comic relief. He has usually been a high-ranking editor at the New York newspaper The Daily Bugle and a close confidant of publisher J. Jonah Jameson, acting as a voice of reason in Jameson’s campaign to discredit Spider-Man. He is also more friendly and supportive of Peter Parker (Spider-Man’s alter ego) and other Bugle staffers than the brash Jameson. He is also known for his decades-old feud with the superhuman hit man Tombstone, with whom he attended high school.
Richard Roundtree (Height: 6' 2", Age: 40 {As of 1982}, Notable Works: Shaft, Inchon, An Eye For An Eye): Roundtree is a magnificent actor, he's best remembered for P.I. John Shaft in the blaxploitation series. He's an amazing actor who's really earned his marks and really does fit the role of Robbie Robertson to a "T."
Betty Brant [Height: 5'7", Age: 20's-30's]: Betty Brant was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her mother had originally been the "Girl Friday" of Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson, and Betty took the position after her mother's death. Peter Parker (secretly Spider-Man) and she were attracted to each other because Betty wanted a normal, ordinary man, and they were romantically linked. However, her brother was accidentally killed during a fight with Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus, and she blamed Spider-Man. Later she forgave Spider-Man when she realized he was trying to protect them.
Sean Young (Height: 5' 10", Age: 23 {As of 1982} Notable Works: Jane Austen in New York, Stripes, Blade Runner): At the time Sean Young was a relatively new actress free for some new roles. Giving her a nice role like Betty Brant opens her up for plenty of action, drama, and screen time. Making her very available for the role as a young actress.
Harry Osborn [Height: 5'10", Age: Teens]: Harry Osborn was the son of wealthy industrialist, Norman Osborn, the original Green Goblin. He went to the same college as Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man. They were roommates for a time, during which Harry encountered occasional problems with drugs. When his father died, Harry found the body and removed the costume.
Keith Gordon (Height: 5' 8", Age: 21 {As of 1982} Notable Works: Home Movies, Dressed To Kill, John Carpenter's Christine): This choice is the direct reason why I did this cast. After watching his performance in John Carpenter's Christine. He was amazing as Arnie, and it made a perfect representation of what Harry Osborn should be. Keith is cut out to play the perfect Harry Osborn.
Norman Osborn/Green Goblin [Height: 5'11", Age: 30's-40's]: Norman Osborn is the original and most well-known Green Goblin. Osborn was originally an amoral industrialist head of Oscorp and father of Spider-Man's best friend, Harry Osborn, who took a serum which enhanced his physical abilities and intellect but also drove him to insanity. He adopted a Halloween-themed appearance, dressing in a goblin costume, riding on a bat-shaped "Goblin Glider", and using an arsenal of high-tech weapons, notably grenade-like "Pumpkin Bombs", to terrorize New York City.
Chris Sarandon (Height: 6' 1", Age: 40 {As off 1982}, Notable Works: The Sentinel, Fright Night): My Original choice was Psycho's Anthony Perkins. But After deliberation I decided he was too old and found a different but equally compelling choice. Chris Sarandon, a fantastic actor who's perfect for the role. He can balance insanity and civilized mannerisms. He can snap on a whim and deliver a magnificent performance as Norman and as the Goblin.
Dr. Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus [Height: 5'9", Age: 40's]: The son of an overbearing mother and a bullying father, Otto Octavius grew up to become a reclusive, but brilliant atomic researcher. To help manipulate radioactive substances from a safe distance, Otto constructed a chest harness controlling four mechanical, tentacle-like arms - earning him the nickname Doctor Octopus. In a freak laboratory accident, volatile liquids exploded - bombarding the scientist with radiation. The substances left him capable of mentally controlling the arms, but the accident also caused irreversible brain damage - transforming the respected scientist into a megalomaniacal superhuman criminal.
Rutger Hauer (Height: 6' 1", Age: 38 {As of 1982} Notable Works: Spetters, Nighthawks, Blade Runner): An amazing actor from the Netherlands, he's got a cold efficient calculated manner that makes for an intriguing style to take Doc Ock. There's no denying that his work in Blade Runner is a perfect argument for why Rutger would do a pitch perfect portrayal of Otto Octavius.
Dr. Curtis Conners [Height: 5'11", Age: 30's]: Curtis "Curt" Connors was born in Coral Gables, Florida. He was a gifted surgeon who enlisted in the U.S. Army and was sent off to war. He performed emergency battlefield surgery on wounded GIs, but his right arm was injured in a blast and had to be amputated.After his return to civilian life as a research technologist, Connors became obsessed with uncovering the secrets of reptilian limb regeneration.
Bruce Boxleitner (Height: 6' 2", Age: 32 {As of 1982} Notable Works: Fly Away From Home, TRON, Passion Flower): He's TRON. He's an intelligent actor who could take the role of Curt Conners and make it feel like a genuine intelligent and heartfelt portrayal of Conners. Boxleitner is a fantastic choice because he can bring the gravity to the character that comics can't really include.
The Lizard [Height: 6'8", Age: 30's]: When Curt Connors lost an arm in an explosion while helping injured G.I.s, he decided to create a formula to regrow his arm the way reptiles regrew their body parts. However, the serum transformed him into the Lizard.
Kevin Peter Hall (Height: 7' 2½", Age: 33 {As of 1988} Notable Works: Monster in the Closet, Harry and the Hendersons, Predator): When it comes to playing Hollywood Monsters Hall is a legend. He's the man behind the predator. He's physical, tall, and covers himself in make-up. A perfect fit for The Lizard.
Max Dillon/Electro [Height: 5'11", Age: 30's-40's]: While Maxwell Dillon, an electrical engineer and lineman, was repairing a power line, a freak lightning accident caused a mutagenic change that transformed him into a living electrical capacitor. His powers were initially weak, so he spent some time stealing electrical equipment from Stark Industries to charge himself.
Jeffrey Combs (Height: 5' 7", Age: 29 {As of 1983}, Notable Works: Who's Life Is It Anyway, Frightmare, The Man With Two Brains): Jeffrey Combs would later go onto voice Scarecrow in Batman The Animated Series. He's starred in a drastic series of B-Movies under the head of the Reanimator, which that and Scarecrow is what he's best known for. Using him as Electro is going for a radically different take. Instead of a plain-jane over the top villain, i want to see a freaky, spastic villain, someone who plays to their quirks. I think he could give a real electrifying performance as Electro!
Macdonald Gargan/Scorpion [Height: 6'2", Age: 30's-40's]: Former private investigator Mac Gargan was hired by J. Jonah Jameson to find out how Peter Parker was able to get incredible pictures of Spider-Man. Gargan's efforts to locate Peter in order to find out the truth triggered Parker's spider sense, making him easily avoidable. Frustrated, Jameson decided to pay $10,000 to Gargan as the subject of an experiment. An experiment created by Dr. Farley Stillwell, a researcher in animal mutation which endowed the subject with the characteristic of another animal. Unfortunately the process resulted in the loss of Gargan's sanity, and the creation of the super-powered criminal menace known as the Scorpion
Tom Noonan (Height: 6' 6", Age: 36 {As of 1987} Notable Works: Wolfen, Easy Money, Manhunter): Manhunter is a great reason why he is a great choice for Scorpion. Tom is a powerhouse of an actor who really could fit the moniker of the Spider-Man's natural Predator. Tom is intense in his performances, he adds a level of energy and prowess when he plays a killer. The amount of energy he puts into a character allows him to fully transform into the character.
Sergei Kravinoff/Kraven The Hunter [Height: 6', Age: 30's-40's]: Born into an aristocracy that had come to an end, Kraven became one of the world's greatest hunters to fulfill his sense of lost nobility. But he became bored and wanted a different kind of trophy on his wall - Spider-Man's head.
Timothy Dalton (Height: 6' 2", Age: 45 {As of 1989}, Notable Work: The Living Daylights, Hawks, License To Kill): I love Dalton's Bond, he is my favorite. And he as an actor is amazing, casting him as a villain like Kraven gives him a range to add to. He was physically fit for the role, he had the talent to play a cold blooded killer and he can carry the type of intelligence that Kraven would require to be a main villain. Especially since Kraven is one of Spider-Man's more honorable adversaries.
