Spiderman

This is an idea I was thinking of for the new Spiderman movie. This is not a developed story like most of my others, this is an outline of what I would like to see on screen in the new Spiderman reboot. What got me thinking of this idea is all of the people who claim that the origin would be the same boring stuff again. This is the basic origin, but it is different, and closer to the original source material.
LEEE, this is for you.

Peter is in High School still starting his senior year.
He is not very popular and has few friends besides Liz Allen and Harry Osborn.
Peter is excited that the school is getting a tour of the Oscorp genetics lab, led by Norman Osborn himself.
They come to a lab area discussing genetic splicing and cloning. The students are introduced to Professor Miles Warren, the head of the project. The students are uninterested except for two. Peter and Gwen Stacey, Peter happens to have a crush on Gwen Stacey. They both ask questions about what is being spliced; Warren tells them that they are splicing different types of Spider DNA, and that each spider is worth several million dollars. He asks Peter and Gwen if they could stay behind for a bit. He says that he is impressed by their interest in genetics and asks their grades. We find out that both Peter and Gwen are in the top of their class. Warren gives them his card and says that he will be looking for new assistants in his lab next year and he is looking for college freshmen interns.
He tells them that if their grades hold up, he may consider them being his assistants.

Peter and Gwen leave and rejoin the group, on the way Peter is bit by Spider at a lab. Peter worries that if he tells someone he will be forced to pay for the Spider he killed, and could risk his chances of being Warren’s assistant. He tells no one and goes home sick after the field trip.
He goes through changes and gains Spider powers.

He then tries to get on TV and make money. He claims he is doing something for the school paper.
Someone robs the studio after Peter is cheated out of his money, Peter lets the crook go.
While he is gone, someone broke into Uncle Ben and Aunt May’s house. The burglar killed Ben.

Mac Gargan is a police detective there at the Parker house. He tells Peter about what happened and hears over the radio that the burglar has been cornered at a warehouse.
Peter finds the burglar and the burglar is revealed to be the crook from the TV studio. Spiderman beats up the burglar and leaves him for the police.

He then becomes Spiderman. He does heroic deeds across the city and people want to know what he looks like, so the Daily Bugle editor J Jonah Jameson puts up a reward for Spiderman pictures. Aunt May needs money, so Peter gets a job taking pictures for Jameson, who hates costumed heroes.

Peter asks Gwen to school dance, she accepts. His aunt wants him to take her friend Anna Watson's "Nice young Niece."

JJ finds out that Spiderman was created in an accident. He then hires Professor Miles Warren to recreate the experiment.

Spiderman foils a bank robbery. Herman Schultz, who was dressed in a costume and went by the alias, the Shocker, leads the group robbing the bank. (Insert a million Mattress jokes).

Shocker battles Spiderman in the streets. Eventually Spiderman dodged one of Shockers blast, the blast strike a police car that Mac Gargan’s partner was in. The car explodes killing Gargan’s partner. Spiderman defeats Shocker by breaking a fire hydrant, which causes Shocker’s suit to get wet and short out.

JJ thinks that Spiderman is leading to more costumed villains. He hires Professor Warren to turn a vengeful Gargan into Scorpion.

Spider is attacked by Scorpion on his way to meet Gwen so he can help her pick out a dress to buy for the dance. They battle across several rooftops until the cops arrive and start firing on scorpion and Spiderman, Scorpion escapes.
Peter arrives late to the mall where he sees Gwen with his friend Harry. Gwen dumps Peter and goes to the dance with Peter's Best friend Harry Osborn to make Peter mad. Harry however, reveals to Liz that he actually plans to try to get Gwen and Peter back together.

Scorpion goes insane upon learning that his DNA is changing and he cannot get out of his Scorpion suit. He goes after Jameson.

Jameson calls Peter to tell him to get Spiderman. Spiderman arrives at the Daily Bugle and battles the Scorpion in the Bugle and on the roof. He eventually beats Scorpion by tricking him into striking the electric wires with his tail, electrocuting him, but Scorpion still lives. Scorpion is arrested and Jameson tries to get the police to arrest Spiderman for damages to the Bugle building.

Peter is at home the night of the dance moping. Aunt May make him get dressed up to go, since he had already paid to go. She said that she has a surprise for him, she said that Anna Watson's niece Mary Jane would like to go to the dance with him and that May had asked if she would.

Peter is upset that his Aunt set him up on a blind date, but he got dressed up for the dance anyway. MJ rings the doorbell and Peter expects the worst.

He opens the door and MJ says her famous line "Face it, Tiger... you just hit the jackpot!"

The end.

Post credits:
Osborn is seen talking to Miles Warren about military aplications of genetic enhancements that do not involve animal DNA.

Warren tells him about the Goblin Serum

Well what do you think? Should I write it? Does this quell your fears of a reboot? Did I just waste a couple of hours of my life doing this? TELL ME!!!

You can re-tell the story of spiderman without repeating anything!

THEHAWK - 1/12/2010, 3:20 PM
@SHHH. I would, but I want them to cast all unknowns for Peter and the younger characters. If I used my choices I have now, they would be too old by the time the film is actually released.

HAWK @ ; D

I like man, i would like this IF we did have different villains like SCORPION etc like up top, though i still think instead of an origin for the first bit of the movie, we just have flashbacks i.e, INCREDIBLE HULK, though they wont do that!

Good work man, hey i could see this as a TV series too, if they ever made one, a Live-action one that is!!

Great work dude, still don't like the idea of a teeny bopper as SPIDEY but i reckon this will be 50 times better than what HOLLYWOOD comes up with!

Great work dude, thumbs up from me!

well i would prefer a scorpion that has no robot suit but instead is actually growing a organic tail and becomeing a human scorpion, and i would like to really, really see the lizard. i also would like doc ock to be a very big part of the new spiderman series as well as dr conners aka the lizard. and now that they are doin a new trilogy lets see the real venom ,and carnage.

THEHAWK
THEHAWK - 1/12/2010, 3:28 PM
Thanks LEEE, this one was for you!

But my version of the origin makes it contribute to the overall plot by introducing Scorpion in a new way.

I would be fine with flashbacks honestly.

And the whole point of Spidey is that he was a teen hero, that is his thing he was the first solo hero to be a teenager, Captain Marvel apparently doesn't count

I am glad you like the idea though.

@EVERYONE. X-men 5 is nearly ready to be released! I plan to release it Sunday night or Monday morning!

THEHAWK - 1/12/2010, 3:34 PM
@1chris. Well, I want all that too, and this is almost identical to Scorpian's actual origin in the comics.

Scorpion is one of my favorite not so complex villains Spider-Man has.

I would say write it but you already wrote how it ends so there really isnt a surprise anymore.

I think going into a full re-telling of origins isn't the way to go. I think having the film resume right after Ben's death would best suit the need to avoid redundancy. Previous events can be satisfied with quick flashbacks as Peter broods in his bedroom or on building ledges.
I'd prefer if MacGargan be portrayed as a man of low character.
I'd prefer if Mary Jane was not introduced until Gwen Stacy is dead and he prounces around on rooftops with Felicia Hardy in subsequent films.

Good stuff Hawk, as always.

I personally don't mind a reboot, and I'm open to it. Even looking forward to it a little.

I'd go with Logan Lerman as Spidey:

And I definitely agree with Yelchin as Harry.

Who would you cast as MJ and Gwen, those are the toughest ones for me?
THEHAWK
THEHAWK - 1/12/2010, 6:02 PM
@bleedthefreak. Yeah, well I just wanted to show that a reboot could redo the origin and still be original. i wrote this last night to see what reactio it would get.

@BatmanKnight. Thanks man. If I do write a story based on this, it will be different. And I will hopefully put X5 out this weekend.

@Multi. Well, he is a great choice for Peter, I like the choice, but I just can't decide who I should pick.

And as for Neal, he is one of the best and most underrated actors alive. But I don't want him to play Norman, I honestly want him for Miles Warren aka Jackal. This role would play more towards his dramatic side. And Jackal would be in the background of all of my Spidey stories I am thinking of writing.

@LEEE. Thanks man.

@TANkGIRL. she is good, but she is 29, that is too old to play someone that is supposed ot be in high school

@Inspace. Thanks man, I hope to write it one day, after I do my X-Men 5, Superman 2, Batman 7, X-Men 6, Justice League, and a couple of crossovers I am working on with other writers on here.

@Ozy. Thanks man! You gotta pug Sam don't ya!

@Phinehas. That could work, but I just wrote it out like this cause either way you will see a origin. That and I am tired of writing flash back stories. My new story IS JUST A flashback!

I jsut wanted to give Garagan a decent backstory.

As for MJ, I was trying to be close to the origins. She came about and dated Peter while Harry dated Gwen for a while. Then Peter and Gwen gt back together and Gobby killed her.
THEHAWK
THEHAWK - 1/12/2010, 6:05 PM
@Joshw24. Thanks man, glad you liked it, I will probably do a reboot fancast soon. I would probably do Emma Roberts as Gwen, she is a good fit, has a perfect mix of sexy and smart. She also has a good enough screen prescence so her death would have a good enough impact.

MJ is a tough one though, not sure...
IronMarvel
IronMarvel - 1/12/2010, 6:13 PM
Really good dude. Im not so sure about having JJ as such a central character but this rocks. U should send it to Sony. I like how u actually kept ur villains alive too lol
THEHAWK
THEHAWK - 1/12/2010, 6:37 PM
@IronMarvel. Thanks man. I only made JJ a central character because he is central in JJ's origin. And yeah, they need to keep the villains alive!

Brett Harrison/Logan Lerman for Spidey!

Thanks man! Harrison was my choice for Spidey as well, but he will be too old for a reboot.

another great storyline from the hawk...cheers!
thye really ought to get you for screenwriter! the reboot would look nice if this storyline was this...close to the source material and definitely new and different from the first origin

cheers again and good work!

TheMyth - 1/13/2010, 5:34 AM
Hawk, I love it! Add more play for Osborn to build him up for later and I'm almost sold. I hate the Scorpion though, but I have to say this is the best incorporation of him I've had to contend with so kudos. I love hiding MJ 'til the end! Nice element for a cliffhanger that won't upset the audience, but instead leave a smile on their face.
THEHAWK
THEHAWK - 1/13/2010, 12:33 PM
@Anil. He isn'tbad, I just can't decide.

@Trgger. Thanks man, and that would be my dream job, believe me!

@Myth. Thanks bro! Scorpion is an odd character, he is little more than a sleaze that gets powers, no real character arcs, I made him more of a tragic vengeful vigilante to hopefully make the reader like him.
If I write this, I will definately give Norman and Harry more time, this was just an outline.

And I think Gwen should be the focus of teh first two films, the second having her death. I like how the comics built MJ up for a while before introducing her, that is what the film should do, through old Petey a curve ball at the end there.

Good news everyone! 'X-Men 5: The Day of Futures Past' is officially done! Now I just got to put up some pictures in it and make a video and I am done!

HAWK out

@the hawk...most, if not all of your storylines are really good, whether batman or spiderman or xmen...
they are really well thought of and well written

i just wonder why studios don't bother looking for good writers from all around...materials are aplenty

i dont go much with casting, just makes sure the new Peter Parker/Spiderman character is really played well.
THEHAWK
THEHAWK - 1/18/2010, 12:58 AM
@Ozy. Thanks man, and I will eventually!

@Trgger Monk. Thanks man, I appreciate it, I put a lot of effort into these stories.

I almost have to write these things. I have so many ideas running through my head at any given time, I think I would go crazy if I didn't write them out! It is a compulsion now more tahn a hobby.

good story, but i heard somewhere the villains are kraven and lizard (for which i think liev schreiber and william hurt or bruce greenwood would be great) for the reboot, but i had an idea for the sequel: a meek, passive, highly paranoid scientist works called otto octavious (jeffrey combs, rainn wilson or PSH), who is apparently slipping from his sanity and tries to repress his rage and hatred towards norman, his boss wich is pretty much a piece of sh*t, his old tormentors from school, high-shcool, academy and such and the world itself, is the head of oscorp's nuclear research, who builds a set of four metallic arms for protection with dealing in hazardous materials. osborne, who's getting crazier and crazier, suuffering from mild symptoms of scizophrenia, paranoia and multipe-personality, sabotages octavius's experiment after the latter threatens osborne with telling the goverment about osborne manufactoring weapons, and octavius gets shocked, his spine was badly damaged, and his brain was twisted and mutated from the chemicals and the failure (although he's sure there was a sabotage). he now has chemical disorder, and barely controls his legs. he is berated by norman, and told by the doctor that he has a brain tumor that enables him to control the arms. he also explains that he has now a chemical disorder (wich causes delusions and such), and that his eyes where damaged severly and that he can't be in the light. he freaks out in the hospital in front of osborn, his team and journalists. he wrecks it with his arms and battles with spider-man, first sympathizing him on behalf of both of them being radioactive freaks of nature, but then battles him and escapes his confines. he tries to fit in, and tries to hide his arms and live quietly. he can't, as the goverment seeks to isolate him, so he denouces his old life, building up to be a new man-a monster of all the rage that he kept inside all these years, relying o his four sons-dr. octopus. meanwhile, peter starts to date MJ, harry slips to pills he's addicted to, and a new reporter arrives at the daily bugle-eddie brock jr. (sam witwer). a sub-plot is that norman tries to buy a small business called toomes-bestman, and is refused again and again by the stern toomes (robert englund or john malkovich), so he sinks it, eventually corrupting toomes's partner, bestman, to sell it. the enraged toomes reveals a secret invention of his, an electro-magnetic flight harness with two metal wings to navigate. he wrecks the place, kills bestman and starts a crime-spree as the vulture. later, peter tries to help harry with his substance-abuse problems, but harry simply shakes him off, he doesn't succeed very well, he's in problems with gwen, he has to face high-school and also needs to handle both dr. octopus and the vulture. in the climax, the vulture is apperhended by spider-man after attacking the daily bugle, trying to rob it's payroll. it was revealed as a distraction he arranged with otto, so he could kill osborne. spider-man tries to stop otto, and at the last secong, electrouts him with a cable he foun on the floor, zapping him and makng his arms go crazy, hitting a gas main and triggering an explosion, toomes is sent to jail and octavius is in a coma, kept in isolation woith his arms surgically detached from his body. osborne finally loses it to the "voice" that's been adressing him, and looks at oscorp inventions- a ball shaped grenade, a glider, and finally, at is wall of masks, staring at a big, green goblin mask and laughs...

Here is my advice, I suggest that you take that and condence it into two- three stories.

The ideas are good enough to stretch out into three movies. I would love to see these ideas on film, but it is too much for one story/movie.

i think your'e right, but think lord of the rings or even better, the dark knight. it was long and gave a lot of place and time for the plot, and used a lot of comic arcs (i tried to use doc ock: year one, death of george stacey, the older vulture comic-books, and the 3 first appearances of doc ock, and the spectacular spidey series too, wich is like the new SAT:AM for me...)
