Once again, I (mcott62094) greet you all with another of my fan casts. This time, I stepped away from what I usually do to try something different.
My attempt this time is Wonder Woman. I really think if Hollywood keeps doing DC films, Wonder Woman would be the next big hit. Why? Several reasons.
-With the conclusion of Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, we won't see a reboot for another few years.
-Everyone is waiting (whether excitedly or not, they're waiting) for Man of Steel to restart the Superman franchise.
-I think people are staying away from Green Lantern for a while because the first attempt at a live-action film ended badly.
-In terms of a possible Justice League movie, Wonder Woman should be the last individual film before a JL film. In my opinion, Aquaman, Flash, and Martian Manhunter aren't strong enough to have stand alone films. (NOT TO SAY THEY WOULDN'T WORK, BUT I JUST DON'T SEE IT!!!!!!!!) After a JL film, they might have success as individual films but not before.

Possible Film Series:
First off, I'm going to discuss the film series, because I like to keep you waiting to see the actual fan cast part of the article. The film series I've lined up is a basic trilogy (I really think three is the magic number in a film series. If it's still a mega hit after three, by all means keep going). Whether or not there would be more, I can't say.
Wonder Woman
Plot: Dianna is the princess of the matriarchal society of the island Themyscira, the last home of the Amazon warriors society in the world to worship the Greek Gods of Old. One day, a confrontation with the fallen Amazon-turned-sorceress Circe
(Sorry, I took a liberty and changed a detail...please forgive me) leads to crash landing of pilot Steve Trevor.
Dianna's mother, the Queen Hippolyta, says a champion must be appointed to return Steve to the patriarchal world. In a ceremony, the gods chose Dianna. Dianna is given armor, gauntlets, the powerful lasso of truth,an Amazonian sword and shield, and divine powers that give her enhanced strength speed stamina and even the power to fly
(I know it's a cliche, but the invisible jet just seemed too corny to me...I just couldn't use it).
Dianna arrives in the modern world in Gateway City, taking the alias Dianna Prince. As she adjusts to the modern world with Steve, she dons her armor and abilities to fight crime, being donned "Wonder Woman" by the press. All the while, she falls for Steve.
The sudden appearance of Wonder Woman, sparks the interest of historian and occult scientist Felix Faust, who believes she is a cult deity sent to earth.
On Themyscira, Circe also discovers this modern world and tries to leave to make it her new kingdom as revenge for being exiled from her old one. Despite the involvement of the gods, Circe manages to enter Gateway City as well. Faust encounters Circe, who she manipulates into doing her bidding. When she learned Dianna is also in this world, she gives Faust mystic power in an attempt to stop her.
In the end, Dianna manages to stop Faust with the help of an officer named Mike Schorr, and then proceeds to defeat Circe and banish her back to Themyscira. However Hippolyta appears and tells Dianna that The gods are moving Themyscira to another dimension and that Dianna must ether return to her sisters or give up her power and remain with men. The film ends.
Wonder Woman 2
Plot: This film starts exactly where the first one left off, with the choice presented to Dianna. Dianna chooses to remain in the modern world, and loses her power. Meanwhile, Faust is shown to be alive. He travels to his secluded jungle lab in South America to recuperate. On Mt. Olympus, the god of war, Ares, grows restless serving under Zeus in peace, and wishes for a world of eternal war.
In South America, Faust notices an archeologist, Barbara Ann Minerva, searching for a lost civilization. Faust lures her to his lab, with artifacts he had found in his time. The artifacts are actually cursed. When Barbara touches on, a cheetah statue, she turns into a half-woman half-cheetah hybrid. Faust subdues and controls her with his magic.
Dianna is struggling. She feels lost without her power, helpless. She is also struggling with her feelings. While she feels for Steve Trevor, she cannot deny her attraction to the cop Mike Schorr. While exploring the city, she comes across an antique shop owned by a man known as I Ching.
Faust returns to Gateway City, with his creature named Cheetah. He lets her loose on the city. Dianna tries to stop her as a civilian, but she is overpowered, and Faust even makes an example of her. In her unconscious state, Dianna has a dream; Hera warns her of Ares coming. Dianna wakes up to learn she's been rescued by I Ching, who reveals he knows who she is (how he knows is a mystery) and that she has lost her powers. He explains that there are other religions in the world and other powers than those of the Greek deities. He trains her for weeks, allowing her to once again become Wonder Woman, despite not being able to fly. When Cheetah attacks again, she overpowers the feline, which undoes Faust's control on her. Faust attacks, only to flee when he sees he is against Wonder Woman, the newly restored Cheetah, Schorr and the Gateway City police, and I Ching.
Ares finally leaves Olympus, but is stopped by Zeus, leading to a violent confrontation in which Ares escapes to Earth and brings an army with him. Despite her new found strength and allies, Dianna is still beaten by Ares. When things seem bleakest, Hippolyta arrives with an army of Amazons. Dianna is restored of her divine powers and uses them in conjunction with her new abilities training under I Ching to defeat the god and stop his army. Zeus allows her to keep her powers and stay among Men. Faust watches the ordeal and sneaks through the portal to Themyscira as the amazons leave.
Wonder Woman: The Last Amazon
Plot: On Themyscira, Hippolyta teaches young Amazons about Doom's Doorway, a portal into the underworld, realm of the god Hades. Hades openly traveled between realms until he one day was accused of attempting to overthrow Zeus and Olympus (which would later be revealed to have actually been Ares, who framed Hades). He was banished to stay in the Underworld and the doorway was created to keep him there. Hades vowed he would take revenge on Zeus' children (mankind) if he ever got out. Faust finds a weakened Circe who demands a way back to earth. Faust and Circe unleash the Doom's Doorway and unleash Hades. Circe bows before the god, willing to serve him, but Faust refuses and Hades kills him.
Dianna wakes up from a nightmare. Sensing something wrong, she goes to I Ching and asks if there's a way to Themyscira. I Ching opens a portal and travels with her there. Dianna finds her home is a wasteland. Amazons everywhere are slaughtered. Hades and Circe appear and steal her portal, going to earth and trapping Dianna and I Ching on Themyscira. Dianna searches for anyway back home, finding her mother and few amazons weakened but alive. Dianna finds Persephone, queen of the Underworld. She Hades' rage towards Zeus and if he were to be pardoned, he would most likely stop his war on Zeus. Persephone says that the only proof is in the Underworld.
In Gateway City, Circe and Hades are wreaking havoc. Schorr (who has been promoted to chief of police) is leading his men against the god. Minerva, who has embraced herself as the Cheetah is aiding them. Circe is preying on Hades' pent up anger and rage to manipulate him into destroying. Hades rewards Circe for being a faithful servant by bestowing her even greater powers and allowing her to achieve a godlike status of her own.
Dianna braves the Underworld and finds Ares. Ares admits he framed Hades, hoping to start a war amongst the gods. Zeus appears to Dianna, having heard the confession. He open a portal to Earth and Dianna and I Ching return, taking Persephone with them.
Hades battles Wonder Woman. Dianna reveals she knows the truth about Ares. She even says Zeus will give Hades a full pardon. Hades is skeptic until Persephone convinces him. Hades returns to the Underworld with his queen. Circe attacks Wonder Woman, engaging in a vicious battle. Circe, drags Wonder Woman back to Themyscira (wanting to destroy her in her home). With her new godlike powers, Circe easily overpowers Wonder Woman until Hades appears and removes her powers, restoring her to her original weakened state. Wonder Woman defeats her and stabs her with her sword, prompting Hades to grab Circe and drag her through Doom's Doorway, a look of terror on her face as the door closes.
Dianna returns to Gateway City and reunites with Steve.
Cast:
The Cast as they appear in each film.
Wonder Woman
Princess Dianna/ Dianna Prince/ Wonder Woman: Kelly Monaco
Age: 36
Notable Roles: Samantha "Sam" McCall in
General Hospital
First off, I like to try and be as original as possible. That being said, casting someone to be Wonder Woman was really tough. Almost every actress had been used at least once. My first choice was Mary Elizabeth Winstead, but the last time a Justice League film was in the works, she was actually going to play Wonder Woman, so I quickly dropped the choice (plus I use her a lot). I also considered Meghan Ory.
I first noticed Monaco on the soap opera
General Hospital. First off, soap opera are an untapped reservoir of acting talent (hint hint if you're looking for actors). She is an amazing actress and model and dancer. With an in shape body like that, action shouldn't really be all that hard.
NOTE: For her costume in the films, she would her her new re-imagined costume (red, silver, black) and by the climax of the third film have her in her new 52 costume...
...as a second improved armor to the first.
Queen Hippolyta: Barbara Hershey
Age: 64
Notable Roles: Cora in
Once Upon a Time
Hillary Whitney in
Beaches
Erica Sayers in
Black Swan
Everyone wants Lynda Carter to be Hippolyta. Which I understand that. It's a nod to the Wonder Woman TV series, in which Carter played the title role. I get that and it's a nice idea. The only problem is, I've never seen Carter act so I can't really cast her just for that reason. Hershey plays strong characters (and coincidentally, she is the same age as Carter).
Captain Steve Trevor: Jerry O'Connell
Age: 38
Notable Roles: Vern Tessio in
Stand by Me
Herman Munster in
Mockingbird Lane
Pete Kaczmarek in
The Defenders
There is just something about O'Connell that I really really like. I can't put my finger on it, but he's just really likeable. I really liked him as Herman Munster. He's also a great actor. He's actually did voice for Captain Marvel (Shazam) before, so he is familiar with comic book roles.
Zeus: Pierce Brosnan
Age: 59
Notable Roles: James Bond/007 in
GoldenEye
Sam Carmichael in
Mamma Mia
Chiron in
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: the Lightning Thief
When casting Zeus, there's really two ways you could go. An older Zeus who reflects power in his wisdom (Laurence Olivier) or a younger Zeus (not much younger) who reflects power in his physical being with Strength (Liam Neeson). With Pierce Brosnan, I believe you get an actor who can show both types of power Zeus exhibits.
Hera: Nicole Kidman
Age: 45
Notable Roles: Satine in
Moulin Rogue
Claudia Jenssen in
Nine
Dr. Chase Meridian in
Batman Forever
Is there really a need to explain this? Besides her extraordinary acting talent, Kidman exhibits the nobility and noble grace and beauty of the queen of the gods.
Mike Schorr: Shemar Moore
Age: 42
Notable Roles: Derek Morgan in
Criminal Minds
Orlando in
Tyler Perry's Diary of a Mad Black Woman
First off, Moore looks amazing for 42. Second, yes I'm re-imagining Mike Schorr as an African American character. Please don't give me grief about it. I think Moore could deliver power to the role. Also, he has an experience playing cops on
Criminal Minds.
Felix Faust: Ian McDiarmid
Age: 68
Notable Roles: Palpatine in the
Star Wars saga
Dr. Thomas Lancaster in
Sleepy Hollow
First off, I just think this really really works. Yes, we all had our complaints about the Star Wars prequels...but I really don't see McDiarmid as part of the problem. Little fact, he actually played Palpatine in Return of the Jedi so he's one of three (maybe four) actors to return for the prequels (himself, Frank Oz [voice of yoda], Anthony Daniels [C-3PO], and possibly Kenny Baker [R2-D2]). I think he'd be great as the scientist turned mad sorcerer.
Circe: Famke Janssen
Age: 48
Notable Roles: Jean Grey/Phoenix in the
X-Men trilogy
Lenore Mills in the
Taken film series
Xenia Onatopp in
GoldenEye
I had slightly changed Circe's origin for the film series. I still kept that she is an immortal sorceress. However, I change that she was once an Amazon who was banished because she practiced black magic. She vowed revenge, which only grew with her hatred as the years went on.
I have no problem with her as an actress. I thought she was one of the highlights of the X-Men film series (the others being Jackman, Stewart, and McKellen). But really, she's better at playing villains and antagonists, which is why I considered her for this role.
Wonder Woman 2
Returning:
-Kelly Monaco as Dianna/ Wonder Woman
-Jerry O'Connell as Steve Trevor
-Barbara Hershey as Hippolyta
-Shemar Moore as Mike Schorr
-Pierce Brosnan as Zeus
-Nicole Kidman as Hera
-Ian McDiarmid as Felix Faust
New:
I Ching: Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa
Age: 62
Notable Roles: Shang Tsung in
Mortal Kombat
Heihachi Mishima in
Tekken
Satoshi Takeda in season 2 of
Revenge
After watching
Revenge, Tagawa was the type of person who seemed like he plays the mentor a lot. Boy was I wrong, but not the point. Like the others on this list, he's really good at what he does, and would be great in this role.
Barbara Ann Minerva/ Cheetah: Eva Green
Age: 32
Notable Roles: Vesper Lynd in
Casino Royale
Serafina Pekkala in
The Golden Compass
Angelique Bouchard in
Dark Shadows
Eva Green just seems to be drawn into these sinister roles. But she's really good at them. I mean
REALLY good. I didn't even consider anyone else.
During the course of the second film, after her transformation, Minerva is controlled by Faust. During a fight with Wonder Woman, Faust's control on her is broken. She becomes an ally to Wonder Woman during the second film's climax as well as the third film.
Ares: Barry Sloane
Age: 31
Notable Works: Aiden Mathis in
Revenge
I first saw Sloane in
Revenge. He was really good. His character had a strength that seemed right for Hades. And those first few episodes, when his alliance and motives seem unclear, he comes across as almost sinister. Another check for Ares. He's also been seen getting rough and physical...not stunt double required!
Wonder Woman: The Last Amazon
Returning from the previous films:
-Kelly Monaco as Dianna/ Wonder Woman
-Jerry O'Connell as Steve Trevor
-Shemar Moore as Mike Schorr
-Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as I Ching
-Barbara Hershey as Hippolyta
-Pierce Brosnan as Zeus
-Nicole Kidman as Hera
-Ian McDiarmid as Felix Faust
-Eva Green as Barbara Ann Minerva/ Cheetah
-Barry Sloane as Ares
-Famke Janssen as Circe
New:
Hades: Jason Isaacs
Age: 49
Notable Roles: Lucius Malfoy in the
Harry Potter franchise
Detective Michael Britten in
Awake
Colonel William Tavington in
The Patriot
Jason Isaacs in a villains role...what more is there to say? I could tell you what an amazing actor he is...but everyone knows. I understand that I could've have tried harder, but it's really hard to think of someone other than Isaacs.
Persephone: Ginnifer Goodwin
Age: 34
Notable Roles: Gigi Phillips in
He's Just not that into you
Rachel White in
Something Borrowed
Snow White/ Mary Margret Blanchard in
Once Upon a Time
Goodwin is a beautiful actress, only a blind man living under a rock couldn't see that. Honestly, Persephone was a last minute add, but in the Wonder Woman universe, when Hades is involved, she also has an important role. Goodwin would bring the gentleness to Persephone.
