FAN CAST: Who Should Be The TNT "TITANS" Team

FAN CAST: Who Should Be The TNT "TITANS" Team

Check it out after the jump as I cast the heroes that should be in the TNT Titans show initial line up and the big baddie for the season.

The TITANS team should be formed by 5 indivuals consisting of 3 boys and 2 girls, they should be all range from ages 17 to 19 in my opinion.

Now onto what heroes I wish to see in TITANS.

DICK GRAYSON/ NIGHTWING

DUH the leader and face of the Titans team should be the first pick, as we see Dick deal with his new team and his fall out with Batman along with his love interest and university work. Dick is everyone's favorite Robin, plus I want to see him in an emotional scene where he see's his old Robin costume, speaking of costumes I hope we see the old school version( collar, gold & blue suit) and his new (black & blue/red suit) of his Nightwing costumes as a nod. Also so it will be nice for him to get some well deserved spotlight even if it is in the small screen (even tho DC is proving Small screen is better than big screen)

RACHAEL ROTH / RAVEN

Raven is the girl that will bring the baddie forward in this season, also she will be the dark and mysterious character that we need to push forth the character, maybe even going as far as killing and having to deal with the after effect of it. all in all Raven is an important part of the team that deal with magic, darkness and emotions of the team as she is one of the pushing forces behind it and the baddie

 VIRGIL HAWKINS / STATIC SHOCK

Cyborg is out, due to his JL treatment on the big screen so I casted in Static as his replacement because his powers make a good replacement, he is monirity and can serve a great deal to the team and if even a better addition IMO than Cy', Static would bring the political and social elements to the team showing them what impact in culture and soceity means.

BARBARA GORDON / BATGIRL

Replacing Starfire as a member of the Team Batgirl would be the love interest of Dick and of course would also deal with the love and betraying of a lover, as my plan for her is that she is reporting her, the team and dick's actions to Batman, Dick finds out and tells the team, trust issues begin,  it's all simple, plus again she deserves redemption as a character and can work well in this world/team

GARFIELD LOGAN / BEAST BOY

Beast boy is the comedy of the team and the sweet and innocent side of the teens that they also need, he would later play love interest to Raven much like the comics, also he would be a nice element of the team in regards to their example to be set in public and other places, not to mention that his elements like education, food and diet among other things would be a nice thing to be explored by the series

THE BIG BADDIE

TRIGON!

This would tie in with Raven, the minor baddies, magic, emotions and "destiny/prophecy" as he toy's with all the titans after their long journey to becoming who they are, he pulls their emotions like no one ever has, he goes deep into the Dick/Bruce relationship, the Babs/Jim Gordon relationship, Raven's insecurities, Static's race and beast's boy humanity. Safe to say he will be not only a tough bad guy to beat on the physical but the mental and emotional side too.

MINOR BADDIES

First of all, NO SLADE WILSON/ DEATHSTROKE. His work on Arrow should not ben replaced for at least 10 years, so Maybe Brother Hood of Evil a few comic baddies and a few pictured below.

REASONS

Here's a few reasons as to why I picked these heroes outside of the ones given.

Budget - Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, Beast Boy, Static and other heroes cost a lot of budget to do them right, TNT is not a goldmine, so Starfire was cut due to that, Cyborg is costly plus he has his own movie and does not need the spotlight for now, Raven is not so costly and is need, Beastboy can be limited to a few animals but I am afraid he might be to costly for the real deal.

Powers - Starfire's powers are not really that wow, Raven's are better so yeah, Also Stastic's powers here are meant to replace Cy's in the sense of using elec. to damage and manipulate tech for the teams gain, Dick & Babs don't have power's thus they only use gadgets which can be done easy without needing much budget not sense of force.

Story Telling - Dick & Babs deal with love and the Batman element, we know that DC pushes the Batman element on everything so I put them here to help that and draw people in due to name brand then keep them here with the dealings of their team and love, Raven's backstory is a great one and more when you include the baddie, the darkness, the magic and her relationship with the other teens, Beast boy will also prove good in some elements as he is the one that worries about humanity more than anything, Static's political and social  impact will be big as he brings up everything from race to sectors to age to everything in between.

Well that's my TITANS team for TNT

 NIGHTWING, BATGIRL, RAVEN, BEAST BOY & STATIC SHOCK.

For me, nothing replaces the modern classic line-up: Nightwing, Cyborg, Beast Boy, Raven, and Starfire.

@BB52

Agreed. That's the perfect lineup to me. Only thing is I prefer it be Robin but it's basically the same character. Nightwing's just more experienced and mature.

I heard the show is just gonna be called TITANS so I expect adults.

Deathstroke should be the big bad also.

@DCGuy

i Actually kinda like the idea of Batgirl being part of the team.

I have to agree with BB52. And I think you should include Deathstroke and H.I.V.E. in your cast. Also, why don't you cast actors in the roles that you posted?

Anyway, can you check out my Batman: Assault on Arkham cast ?
DCGuy
DCGuy - 10/19/2014, 5:43 PM
@Dingbat I think they should be late teens early 20's at max. Cy is not gonna be in the team, it's hard enough for NW to be in it with Batman on the big screen and the connection getting or not getting made, as we have seen shows mixed with movie universes don't work 100%.

Deathstroke was done by Arrow and is going to be used again, so it's one thing to have a big name like flash on screen and on tv but a bad guy like stroke who is not that big of a deal on 2 shows who are using him in the same role + a possible movie appearance in the SS? nah. they should let Stroke rest a bit.

let's face it the animated show line up we will not get here.

DCGuy - 10/19/2014, 5:44 PM
@MrBluesky because casting actors is something I don't like to do, I already commented on your fan cast.
DCGuy
DCGuy - 10/19/2014, 5:45 PM
@Dingbat the NW/Batgirl/Batman triangle could be a great dynamic, for love, fatherhood, mistrust and redemption.
Dingbat
Dingbat - 10/19/2014, 5:59 PM
@DCGuy

If it's connected to Arrow (which there are rumors of) that would honestly be ideal. We'd get more awesome Deathstroke. I don't think that's gonna happen, I'm just saying that I'd like that.

As for Cyborg, I don't think they'd do him on a TV budget anyway but there's gonna be two Flashes so I don't see how the movie universe effects it at all. That's the reason they aren't connected. For creative freedom.
DCGuy
DCGuy - 10/19/2014, 6:03 PM
@Dingbat if it connects to arrow and if they play in Jericho then yes, then if not then NO STROKE!

yeah but Flash is 10 times bigger and more known than Cy. I don't think they would risk it that much with Cy really.

THEN AGAIN TITAN does imply 2 Batmen or connected to DCCU....or FUTURE Gotham!
Dingbat
Dingbat - 10/19/2014, 6:11 PM
@DCGuy

But if they were to avoid Cyborg, it wouldn't be because of the movie universe. That would defeat the whole purpose of having two separate universes. So they have the creative freedom to do what they want.

What I find strange though is that CW was told they couldn't use Ted Kord because DC "has plans for him" or something, yet they let them use the Flash and they clearly do have actual plans for him.

darthbatman93 - 10/19/2014, 6:14 PM
Starfire lol she was one of the characters confirmed. I would love to see Static on this show as well. Plus if all works out, then TNT and CW will make the arrow universe and the Titans universe the same. So we could actually see Manu Bennet on Titans and Dick Grayson or any of the other Titans pop up in Arrow/Flash. Plus we already have one major member, Arsenal on Arrow, and soon we will have Wally West on Flash so to give them more screen time it would be cool to see them transition over.
DCGuy
DCGuy - 10/19/2014, 6:19 PM
@dingbat maybe they mean to build him up, within the comics or another show/universe.

The flash is a very well established hero and can have 3 different versions because thats been done before hence no need to explain or anything

Patrick Fugit for Dick Grayson.

@MrBlackjack

The kid from Almost Famous? He's like 30 now. If they're going with the non-Teen Titans (which I think they will) that could work.
CherryBomb
CherryBomb - 10/20/2014, 6:23 AM
Yeah, TT would've been better served as a movie!
Starfire is a bad-ass powerful character and Beast Boy is visually quite cool, so they could only be done justice with a big budget.

Robin, Raven, Cyborg could all work on a TV show.
Wonder Girl, Blue Beetle, Miss Martian could be some decent additions.

Nightwing, Raven, and Static Shock are all good choices.

I would avoid Beast Boy. Very rarely does full-body makeup look good, particularly on TV. On top of that, his powers would either rely on fully-CG animals or a trained/possibly digitally re-tinted menagerie or both. Either are incredibly expensive to do very often. Same goes for Miss Martian, unless they have her be more of a Mystique-style shapeshifter (with occasional other power use).

I think Starfire is a no-brainer, though. Depending on casting/interpretation, there is very little makeup required and her powers would be relatively TV budget friendly within reason.

Depending on how the rights shake out, I think Kid-Flash/Impulse, Wonder Girl, Superboy are also promising (with Supergirl at CBS, I doubt she's available). They may not want this show being a "sidekick" show, though.

Other possibilities offer their own problems. Blue Beetle and Cyborg armor is in danger of looking cheap and goofy. Batgirl with Nightwing is a bit too much overlap in power set for my taste (though I suppose there's nothing stopping Batgirl from actually taking Nightwing's spot, either).

Again, I don't know for certain how the rights are distributed, but I think DC on TV is starting to have a similar problem Marvel movies have. All of their characters are spread around in different settings, channels, and contexts that are disrupting the possibility of a satisfying shared universe.

Then again, introducing Batgirl (with or without Nightwing) opens up the possibility of getting her "Oracled", and then that overlap goes away and she becomes a very budget-friendly girl coordinating the action behind a computer screen... but we already have enough of that already, don't we?

Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 10/20/2014, 7:23 AM

Okay, Flash gets bonus points for having a whole bunch of Oracles...

@Dingbat

Heh, I should have clarified that I meant Fugit for Grayson on the big screen. He's definitely too old for the Titans, but with the Bruce we're getting on film I think he's just right.
MrBlackJack
MrBlackJack - 10/20/2014, 12:56 PM
WB/DC hasn't sold their rights away like Marvel has done in the past, they just simply have a select few on different networks. Unless they're planning on using Kid Flash on the CW, there's nothing stopping him from joining the TNT show, just how he could make the jump to film and television as well. They're at the liberty to do whatever with whomever, and that includes using the same character twice.

I agree entirely with Spock0Clock

And in reading these comments, I'm curious what the BIG PLANS are for Ted Kord. Does anyone think they are doing a legacy series with the 3 Blue Beatles? I'd love an old school pulp Beatle with the likes of the original Sandman, Question and others overlapping into the Kord and newest Beatle timelines. All 3 starring and connecting
