We've seen Sam Raimi's take on the acclaimed arachnid hero and now we'll see Mark Webb's version next year. And here's my take on the new movie, slightly more dramatic, yet still kept with Spidey's wise-crack jokes.

- -

Jake Gyllenhall as Peter Parker/Spider-Man

A decent actor, who can nail the role of Peter Parker. We've seen him in many movies, The Day After Tomorrow, Brokeback Mountain, Prince of Persia and so on. He's got the looks, here's hoping that he can roll with the wise-ass character, who dears the character of Gwen Stacy very much. I'm sure the actor would have no problem.

- -

Martin Sheen as Ben Parker

He was my first choice even before he was cast in Mark Webb's reboot, I don't see a point in recasting him just because of that, and we're still yet to see his take. Martin Sheen is an experienced actor could do the role justice and he is quite the lookalike of Uncle Ben.

- -

Vanessa Redgrave as May Parker

Perhaps unknown to many, Redgrave is a British stage actor, we've seen her in the first Mission:Impossible and she'll soon star in Emmerich's Anonymous as Queen Elizabeth. A very sweet woman and an outstanding actress. We love you Aunt May!

- -

Reese Witherspoon as Gwen Stacy

I personally admire her acting chops, she was at least decent in every movie she's been in. Also she's starred with Maguire in the movie Pleasantville. She can nail the sweet girl attitude without any issues. Of course, in this movie I expect the character to get into an affair with Norman Osborn, and flash forward to her children's birth, which will set the mood into the movie. Also, her death is a must.

- -

John C. McGinley as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin

The fun, neurotic doctor of Scrubs, he's got the talent to act Norman's character. Personally, I didn't have much problem with DaFoe's Osborn, still McGinley seems to be as eligible. And of course, no Power Ranger suit this time! Get him psychothic and we're gonna see a perfect Goblin on the screen, too bad he has to die too.

- -

Chris Pine as Harry Osborn

He showed himself in Star Trek and Unstoppable just recently. He can roll as Parker's rich, yet friendly college roommate. He's looks about the same as Harry, but much more of a pretty boy.

- -

Rachel McAdams as Mary Jane Watson

The cutest, prettiest actress there is! She was in Sherlock Holmes and a few other well-done productions. Thought of a redhead Krista Allen for the role, but she's just way too old for the character now. McAdams would make a really great MJ in Parker's life later on. Although for the most of the movie, she'll be a bit of a secondary character along with Harry. Near the finale of the movie, I expect her to kindle the romance with Peter.

- -

Sam Elliot as J.Jonah Jameson

J.K. Simmons was the ultimate JJJ, but that kinda needs to change I'd say. Sam Elliot as JJJ, I don't even need to give a description, he's the dude. Jonah's son will play a big role in the after credits scene!

- -

Scott Speedman as John Jameson

Another decent actor, Speedman is mostly known for his Underworld performance. He'll be a minor character for the most of the movie, just like Phil Coulson was in Iron Man. In the After Credits scene, where he lands on the moon, we'd see the symbiote traveling back to Earth in the shuttle. Going from this perspective, I'd say the sequel would start with Spidey saving the shuttle!

"The Amazing Spider-Man" .. there you go! Might even write a Fan-fic script for this later on. Seemed like a cool idea really. I welcome any feedback. :)

[Made the new Spider-Man logo by myself, seems it turned out pretty nice! As always, the whole graphic work is made by me apart from the background, on which I still worked on PS]

Good casting, except for Spidey and Harry. I like Jake Gylenhaal and Chris Pine, but I don't see them as Spider-Man and Harry Osborn. Plus, Gylenhaal's too old to be playing a high school student.

Do you mean Gwen was in an affair with Harry Osborne, not Norman? Other than that, great job.

@SuperManFan01: no, he meant Norman. the two had an affair and Gwen had twins. Norman kept them hidden in London (?) and instilled a hatred in them for Spidey. at least one of them later attacked Spidey as the Grey Goblin.

I was just telling my friend the other day how perfect Jake Gyllenhall would be as Spider-Man! She wasn't a fan, glad to know someone else is!
