This action-packed new poster popped up over at the movie's Malaysian FB page, and is the first one-sheet not to feature any kind of giant head! Be warned, it's a SPOILERIFIC poster..

Ridley Scott, director of "Alien" and "Blade Runner," returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Prometheus hits theaters June 8th.

Thescream, I hadn't realized exactly what was depicted in the poster at the time, and thought it was just the one ship on fire..as we have already seen in the trailers. When I realized I added the spoiler tag. Now calm down and stop throwing a hissy fit like a child.

@Thescream: the scene depicted in this poster is in every trailer. Just sayin...

I don't get angry when I click on an article on a website to find I now know that in a movie I want to see, one ship crashes into another ship. Like you wouldn't have taken a look at the poster even with the spoiler tag anyway! Calm down, it's not a big deal, Or, don't, and don't go see the movie now because it's been "ruined". Don't really care either way, just stop spamming the article with your complaining.

@Thescream
The crash is in the trailer anyway.And do you really think that that is the whole conclusion to the movie?! This poster spoils nothing.Besides,posters often show more than a single scene melded together to make a dramatic image.Personally I don't think Ror has done anything wrong.Everything on the poster is in the trailer.The studio wouldn't release their own spoiler,would they?!
@Ror
Nice post.Thank you :)

By the way, I don't see how this particular scene can ruin the entire movie, it doesn't give any clue on the premise.

@rormachine yeah 100% agree I didn't even know what it was just looked like a cool ship on fire! People need to chillax!

CyberInflames: My thoughts exactly.. it is in almost every trailer and those do not have a spoiler tag. It is not like if Empire Strikes Back had a poster showing a one hand Luke with a speechbubble saying "I can't belive Darth Vader is my father.. Why did not Kermit tell me about that"

Now I know they're all going to die in that planet.

When I saw this in the trailer I was kinda in shock that they just dropped a big spoiler like that. Then I did what everyome else with a brain did and thought, "hmmm, maybe it isnt all that important then. Scott wouldnt put a giant spoiler like that in his trailer."

@thescream

Relax, man. Like many have said, this is in the trailer. Also, if you dont like the site, you always have the option of not coming here anymore. But Ror hardly ruined anything, unless you change the channel everytime a Prometheus preview comes on, which I highly doubt.

I have my doubts about this film, but am going to see it and hope that it succeeds so Hollywood will make more R-rated blockbusters.

poster looks pretty weak like it was hand drawn or something, estatic about the movie though.

@Grif: If they are't smoking cigarettes in every other scene...

Would that bother you too? I watched Alien again last night and was surprised how much everyone smoked lol :)

To be fair, it quite clearly depicts the Prometheus crashing into the other ship (you can see the Prometheus engine) and the majority of the crew on the surface. Hence they all either die or get stuck there! Simples. Kinda spoilery, but if by now you havn't seen anything from this film, then this is pretty contextless. And this site exists for speculation and spoilers!

Prometheus crashing into the Engineer's ship was already revealed in the trailer.

@mordecaiwayne

Yeah? What planet are they on? How many other ships are on the planet? What are they doing there? Is thisthe planet they meet the space jockeys on, or did they flee to this planet? dying or being stranded are certainly not the only options. How do u know they wont steal a space jockey ship and escape? its already a safe bet that prettg much everyone dies with maybe 1 or 2 survivors, as that is the formula for these kjnds of movies. But the bottom line is, no one knows what is happening on this poster, aside from prometheus crashing.

Again, I highly doubt Scott would throw a huge plot-ruining spoiler like this into a poster before the movie even comes out. He's done such a good job keeping the plot and story under wraps that ifs completely ridiculous to think he would spoil the movie with a poster.

Think about it this way Grif.
The crew in the first movie was basically Space Truckers and the crew in this movie is Scientist´s/Explorer´s so why couldnt this crew be using more advanced technology. It doesnt need to be exactly the same.
Technology they are using depends from the financier. How much he is put money in the project. :)

Of course you cant have the computers and other shit from the original movie cause that stuff is aged.
But with the space suits and space ships i understand where you coming from.
But they arent going too much away from those.
The changes they have made can be explained with the financier thing.

The cry "SPOILERS" is getting a little bit old. It's one thing when something nobody knew about an upcoming film is revealed in an article. It is quite another when a POSTER, that's right, A POSTER that will hang in plain site of the public, TO PROMOTE THE MOVIE is placed in an article.

This poster was meant to be seen by anybody and hopefully, everybody, to raise awareness AND interest in this movie. I suppose some of you complaining had planned on walking around with your hands over your eyes until after you've seen the movie.

Why on Earth would you even be browsing this site when you complain that the site would post A PROMOTIONAL POSTER without displaying a SPOILER ALERT?

Ease up. If anything, complain that the studio chose to run with this poster, not that people would display it for them.
