THE FANTASTIC FOUR Rumor Reveals Surprising Reason Galactus Comes To Earth (And It’s Not What You Think)

The latest rumour about The Fantastic Four’s plot claims to shed new light on why Galactus pays Earth a visit, and surprisingly, it appears he wants more than to just devour the planet. Check it out!

If you're at all familiar with Marvel's First Family, then you'll know they've had to stop Galactus from consuming Earth on countless occasions. However, in Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four, it appears the World-Eater will have a very different reason for visiting the planet.

Undeterred by Disney and Marvel taking legal action to discover their identity, scooper @CanWeGetToast has shared a rumour today claiming that Galactus comes to Earth in search of Franklin Richards (who is reportedly "born in space").

The son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm, Franklin is an incredibly powerful mutant with the ability to create new realities and even rewrite his own.

He has a complicated history with Galactus which has included him actually taking the villain's place in the "Earth X" reality and making the big bad his Herald back on Earth-616 to fend off a Celestial attack. We don't know which comics The Fantastic Four is pulling inspiration from, but it looks like we should gear up for a deep dive into the team's mythology here.

There's also been chatter in recent days that Galactus is a Multiversal threat. While we don't anticipate him replacing Kang as this Saga's main antagonist, don't be surprised if this movie has major consequences for the Multiverse Saga.

There's no word on who will play Franklin, but Game of Thrones star Ralph Ineson recently boarded The Fantastic Four as Galactus.

"I think that with the story of the Fantastic Four, it feels like we want to get this right," Human Torch actor Joseph Quinn recently said of the movie. "There are aspects of it that are very different to other Marvel films. That felt very compelling to me. And again, going back to who's involved, Matt, of course, the director, I think is brilliant, and the cast, and I've read it and the script is brilliant. It's really brilliant. I'm delighted to have this opportunity."

"Superhero movies are movies about people," he added. "And if we're invested in the people and the characters and the peril and the spectacle, then that's why people go to the theaters to watch films. We're not just in a penny; we're in for a pound with this one. We're going to go for it."

Marvel Studios has announced that Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/The Thing) will lead The Fantastic Four cast. Julia Garner has also joined the reboot as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer.

Recent additions to the cast include Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich in mystery roles, along with Ralph Ineson as the villainous Galactus.

Director Matt Shakman worked with both Avatar: The Way of Water co-writer Josh Friedman and WandaVision's Cam Squires on The Fantastic Four's screenplay, with Eric Pearson (Black Widow) recently coming on board for a final polish.

The movie is set to be released in theaters on July 25, 2025.

"And It’s Not What You Think."

Yes it is.

@LSHF - They could use Franklin to rewrite all the realities and bring together the FOXVERSE and MCU and create a new amalgam basically rebooting the cinematic universe
Gives them a chance to wrap together X-Men, Spidey, Venom, FF and also edit any creative choices they've made in the MCU so far (bringing back or eliminating certain characters or storylines)

@Juggernaut2021 - I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s exactly what they do at the end of Secret Wars.

@Gambito - they are adapting Earth X, unfortunately. At this point it's blatantly obvious.

@McMurdo - Awful decision. If the plot twist is Galactus is the adult version of Franklin, the MCU is over.

@AvalonX - That's precisely the case. They have kids in alt universe. They die in 616. Transfer to 616 from 60s and realize that their son in a planet eater. And no Norin Rad.. the chick surfer is 616 herald.

We need to build up Franklin and then make a bunch of films centered around him

This is cooking on a whole other level than what we're used to.

It's going to be wild seeing Galactus on the big screen for the first time. That's exciting. Also that quote from Joseph Quinn gives me hope. Films about people, we need to be invested in the characters. Still sour on the Shalla Bal silver surfer choice but the rest of what I'm hearing sounds good to me.
Apophis71
Apophis71 - 5/12/2024, 6:17 AM
@TheManWithoutFear - I get the issues wth Shalla Bal for many and would have been on the exact same page on that if it were Earth Prime but with it being an alt universe I don't mind at all as don't want near identical variants used more than needed and at danger of already doing so as is.

This way we can save the Norrin version Silver Surfer for Earth prime later and only cameo his non SS variant. It also means they can kill the female Surfer if the story dictates without any major issues for most, something that would not go down so well for nerds if they killed of any variant of Radd as the surfer.

As long as the films turns out to be good, I'm fine with them going down the line that in an alternate timeline someone else does a deal with Galactus, it isn't like Norrin Radd was the only ever herald in the comics end of the day so getting one or more of those onscreen on an alternate timeline is fine by me as long as we get the main event for the long haul for Earth prime eventually (preferably with his own solo movie too).

Course it is always possible we just don't know everything yet and we WILL get THE Silver Surfer too in the film and both will be side by side as dual heralds so....

...time will tell :D
TheManWithoutFear
TheManWithoutFear - 5/12/2024, 6:28 AM
@Apophis71 - that's true. My hope is that we still get Norin Radd solo movie in the prime universe. And it's tonally on line with with the Stan Lee original series cause those are some of my favourite comics.

@TheManWithoutFear - You don’t count the cloud as the first time for Galactus? 😄
Apophis71
Apophis71 - 5/12/2024, 6:58 AM
@TheManWithoutFear - That is what I am mostly taking from reports thus far, that they are going for an original run vibe for the film, something I don't think they could pull off well if it was grounded on Earth prime past (least not without causing huge continuity issues). As long as the team we get in this ends up on Earth prime post Secret wars I kinda prefer the idea of them having a closer to original iteration starting point without having started on 616 and stuck somewhere else or time jumped forward even if in an ideal world they should have been in the MCU from phase one. It is certainly a preferable way to go than trying to overly modernise them like we had in the last three F4 films for me conceptualy speaking anyway, only time will tell if the story they are going with works or not (as hard to judge from drip drip scooper crib notes that may not be accurate).

@SuperiorHeckler - And knowing Feige, he is a big SW fan. Maybe, he will have the son as the villain instead of the father?
