If you'll remember, and I'm sure you will. Late last month during San Diego Comic-Con an image of what appeared to be a leaked set photo of The Thing (Ben Grimm) from Josh Trank's upcoming Fantastic Four film appeared online. 20th Century Fox never came out and denied its authenticity, but some people were still skeptical. Today, the director rejoined Twitter after a bit of a hiatus and tweeted out a confirmation of the image and a message confirming that filming had actually wrapped today. Now that we know the image is legit, do you like the new and improved version of The Thing?
Update! Josh Trank just held an impromptu question and answer session on Twitter. He answered questions about: costumes, found footage rumors, Jamie Bell's motion-capture performance as The Thing, Toby Kebbell's Dr. Doom performance, Johnny and Sue connection, tone and the issue some fans have with Michael B. Jordan playing Johnny Storm.
Update #2! Seems we, the internet, have been fooled by an internet prankster posing as director Josh Trank. Collider is reporting that they have heard from a reliable source that the Twitter account is fake. While parody accounts of a celebrity are permitted on Twitter, posing as the actual person is not allowed. We'll see if 20th Century Fox pursues legal action against this prankster.
