Clash of the Titans Opening Weekend Domestic Gross Was $68 Million!

Which is only $2 million off the mark. Will there be a sequel?

Clash of the Titans grossed $68 Million in Domestic Theaters this past weekend to become the Number 1 Easter weekend release of all time! A movie is typically measured by the drop off in ticket sales by the second weekend of release. So we will have to wait a bit and see what it does this coming weekend. Which I think will be it's only chance to make more money due to Kick Ass coming out the weekend after.

Kick Ass jumps into Theaters April 16, 2010. Current predictions say Kick Ass will only make $32 million opening weekend, which is crazy when you compare that number to what the domestic total was for the opening weekend of Clash of the Titans, which was $68 million domestic.

Will there be a sequel? My guess is Yes. Clash of the Titans made enough opening weekend and will do well with Blu-ray sales to warrant a sequel. Which is good news for people who liked Clash and bad news for the people who didn't.

In our review I said Clash of the Titans was the best movie of 2010. John almost disagreed but said,"Well Ill give ya that, BUT. Let me clarify, when I made that statement I was comparing this movie to the others that we have reviewed. You can find those links to the left. I have not seen Book of Eli, or How to Train your Dragon. I want to but there are only so many hours in the day. A lot of people did not like Transformers ROTF. I put Clash and Transformers ROTF in the same category. Special Effects Extravaganza!
