When Warner Bros. Discovery announced that they were working on rebooting the Harry Potter franchise with a television show-adaptation, it raised questions and suspicision among fans regarding the potential return of Daniel Radcliffe to once again play the Boy Who Lived.
At the time when the final installment in the Harry Potter franchise was released, that being Harry Potter: and The Deathly Hallows Part 2, Radcliffe was 21-years old still playing the character. Now, the actor is in his early 30's, and based on what we know about the series' development so far, Warner Bros. Discovery is planning a 10-year long run on the MAX streaming service, with J.K. Rowling among the shows executive producers list.
If Radcliffe were to be returning for the role, it would most probably not be as Harry Potter once more, and most certainly not lasting for a 10-year long duration, although, we are uncertain if secretly Warner Bros. Discovery are developing their own methods to see the return of this iconic character once more as an adult.
In an interview with Deadline's The Actor' Side, Radcliffe had been asked about the likelihood of whether or not fans can, at the very least, see him make a cameo in the TV adaptation. Radcliffe answered disclosing his truest intentions about possibly making a grand return:
I don’t think so, no. Certainly from everything that I’ve read about the series, they’re starting fresh and would probably be weird to have me pop in… - Daniel Radcliffe
Radcliffe seemingly expresses his intent on taking a step away from the reinvented adaptation of the series, believing that an idea to have him make an appearance to some capacity would be quite weird in his opinion.
No further details of Radcliffe's claims have been made.
Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The novels chronicle the lives of a young wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns Harry's conflict with Lord Voldemort, a dark wizard who intends to become immortal, overthrow the wizard governing body known as the Ministry of Magic and subjugate all wizards and Muggles (non-magical people).
