James Nesbitt And Adam Brown Cast In The Hobbit!

James Nesbitt(Cold Feet) will play a Dwarf Bofur. Director Peter Jackson had this to say about Nesbitt and his character:

"James's charm, warmth and wit are legendary as is his range as an actor in both comedic and dramatic roles. We feel very lucky to be able to welcome him as one of our cast."

Also Joining the cast also joining the cast is newcomer Adam Brown, who will play another Dwarf Ori. Peter Jackson also had some kind words for Brown:

"Adam is a wonderfully expressive actor and has a unique screen presence. I look forward to seeing him bring Ori to life."

The Hobbit movies are aiming for a December 2012 an 2013 release dates respectively and stars Andy Serkis, Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Rob Kazinsky, Aidan Turner, Graham McTavish, John Callen, Stephen Hunter, Mark Hadlow, Peter Hambleton, James Nesbitt, Adam Brown, and Sylvester McCoy.

so are andy serkis and ian mckellan OFFICIAL cast members now? last i heard they were just "expected to return".

and if they are...where's hugo weaving? why isn't he officially returning as elrond yet?

Love James Nesbitt. He was fantastic in Cold Feet. I'm not a Tolkein aficianado, so I don't have a clue as to the character he will be playing. He's got great comedic and dramatic skills, so I'm sure he will be spot on.
